Princedapace: Even if Nigeria devolves into tribal enclaves you will continue to suffer as people do at state government level. People will want to 'zone' based on where an individual's grandparent's were from, or some such nonsense. |

mmsen: It is easier to manage that way bro. Europe knows why they broke their countries into smaller nations. It is for political peace and political peace brings stability and stability brings pride to work for the country. No country has ever succeeded with the current system of unitary federalism. Not even your colonial masters are doing it. No one is doing it. Give people their police, resources, electricity to manage. These things affect their economy. |
Re: Nigerian Professor, Temitope Oriola Appointed Advisor On Police Reform In Canada by mmsen: 6:32pm On Feb 25, 2021 |
Princedapace: Europe was never managed as one entity. And rather than break into smaller tribal factions they became larger, more powerful nations. If Germany went the route that you are proposing it would be at least 10 different nations. Likewise France, Spain and Italy. They haven't gone that route because it would be bad for all. Before the EU came into existence western European nations were in a constant state of war, not just on the continent but they went all over the globe taking their wahala with them. Since World War 2 they have been forced to recognize the importance of cooperation. Something that many Africans, sadly, seem resistant to. |

mmsen: You don't understand bro. These nations run a very smooth system of govt that grants great control for nations. Not unitary system of federation. They form cooperation to deal with external aggression and interest, not one nation lording over another nation. That is the problem of West Africa bro. Look at the story we are commenting on, the province is under Canada but manages her own police. Manages her own affairs. Look at Monaco, under France but manages her own internal security, resources, etc. Look at the 4 nations in the UK. Even in Germany, there is great system of control for subs. We run a unitary system which is terrible for a multination. There can always be cooperation among nations but don't fussed them under one internal security system, resource control, don't force them into one city system like Nigeria. It won't work. It will never work. |

Princedapace: I have no issue with a federal system run as a federal system. But if Africans believe that devolving into ethnic enclaves will bring about some juvenile utopia then they are sadly mistaken. That ship has sailed, the only people who benefited the last time around from such an arrangement were non-Africans. |

Your Excellency Sir, am really sorry for disturbing you, but the issue I have in mind, when solved will be a big win to the citizens and for this Administration. It's the issue of the Dichotomy between HND and BSc. Sir, His Excellency, The President has in all ramifications done well by removing the Dichotomy between the two certificates, which some agencies have started complying to it with the Exception of the Educational Sector. You can't apply for a Masters Degree (MSc) if you do not first Top up your HND certificate with a Post Graduate Diploma. Which time duration is from 1yr- 1yr 6months. Extra money and time. In same vane, someone who tries to do purchase direct entry form to a University After his N.D (OND) Is no way better of because your 2yrs studying and 1yr studying equals to just year in the University as you are placed in 2nd year. Many can't even transfer to other schools because they are from a Polytechnic or study abroad because most foreign schools do not accept HND. Sir, I ask for pardon if I have spoken out of line sir, you are my last resort. If all Polytechnics starts issuing Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) it will be to the merits of the citizens and it will be a big boost of trust with the Administration. Sir, I would also plead that we take cue from most countries by turning all Polytechnics to University of Applied Sciences. Thank your Excellency sir for granting me audience. I anticipate your earnest feedback. |
