The war against ipob and ESN just got a boost grin

The remaining part of military budget will be used to settle kidnappers, bandits and herdsmen till 2023

I hope before the next presidential election, the brain of Nigerian youths would have being completely formated for progressive reasoning

You were starting to make sense until you made this about religion.

Your bigotry is second to none

I hope you are also disgusted about the ethnic bigotry of your President Buhari. Otherwise you are a hypocrite.

Imagine Pakistan military engineers working on US military jets, that's kinda a security breach but here in Africa we find it cool

What if Nigeria goes to war one day with Pakistan, They know what to touch in their control room to disable out plane

Train our military engineers, Equip them and trust them and you will see the amazing results they gonna show to our Nation

How many years have the US been in Afghanistan fighting terrorists?... with a disciplined military?.... fully trained and equipped with the most sophisticated arms ... communication capability and coordination between ground and air divisions?... they have an array of aircrafts... including drones.... but yet... the terrorists are still there. What makes you now believe a few Pakistani jets will make any difference? Having those jets will endanger the lives of innocent Nigerians. Just hope they don't bomb your family and headline 5he strike as a precision strike that eliminated a terrorist cell. The US has done that several times.... and they are well trained.... why wouldn't our gallant military men? Be careful what you wish for.
Afghanistan is not their country, fool, they are there to advance thier national interest, so there is no basis of comparison here, Afghans can kill themselves, you think America care?

These evil barbarians are killing people like goats, Nigerians in Nigeria, and you are here defending them. Thunder fire you. Are you better than those being killed by these vultures?

you prefer the bandits and terrorists kidnap your mom and rape your sister?

You are talking of 'what i wish' dumbo can you not see they have declared war on Nigeria/Nigerians?

I know you are a religious bigot, may it consume you.

Looking forward to when we will acquire fighter jets like the Su-30, Su-35, Su-37, Su-47, Su-57, F-22, F-35 and other ultra modern superiority fighter jets in our arsenal.

Heaven forbids we buy those f 22 or F 35..
Prefer the su series..
Please cancel su 37 and 47..
But it's not about buying jets..
Do you have the money for operational cost..
Imagine buying 20 su 30 and the only operational ones isn't up to 10..
The jf 17 is in our range but I prefer we don't buy this type anymore cause in the next 10 years it's system will be obselete for modern warfare..
Prefer we buy the JF-17 Block 111 when it's available..
Or just get migs

Actually for bandits, you don't need this type of fighter jet. A fighter helicopter in the mould of an Apache or a Hind would suffice cos it is slower moving compared to a fighter jet and it can hit ground targets with better precision.

Also, the JF17 is an omni-role fighter, it remains to be seen if the ones in service with the NAF will be adapted for ground based operations. Last I checked, bandits/herdsterrorist/BH don't have fighter jets, we don't need a JF17 against them, an attack chopper would do just fine.
Also remember that Al-qeada and Talibans don't have fighter jets but USAF use Typhoons and Raptors to send them to their ancestors. Likewise, the Boko Harams and ISWAP have heavy anti gun trucks that was stricking the F7 out the skies..

We need Apaches but the cost also no be small money @ $31 million, let NAF just put the tools they have to proper use that's all

Jet fighters for what?. You are a jet pilot cruising at 400 miles per hour at 10, 20,000 feet, who or what are you going to see on the ground.

We are talking about present challenges of assymetric warfare, of shocking internal security challenges and we are preparing to confront another airforce or what? Because that is what fighters are for, to secure airspace and that is certainly not where Boko Haram, ISWAP or the bandidos are.

Our military procurement policies are just like our planning and preparation. Ill thought, ridiculous and outright wasteful. The moment those fighters arrive they begin to cost a mountain of cash to maintain while their efficacy remains next to nothing.

We should rather be investing in surveillance and strike drones, armoured vehicles and training a new set of quick deployment helicopter borne special forces to respond to these frequent smash and grab bandit tactics pestering our lives in this country.

Whenever Boko Haram acquires an airwing then we up the game as well. Not now when cash is scarce and budgets are tight.

Just get a dozen armoured helicopter troop carriers and establish just a company of quick reaction special forces in each of the northern states and this mess will be contained.

The present military structure is too cumbersome to respond to these highly mobile threats. This country is way too large to be policed by the lazy, outdated and ineffectual 'checkpoint' security philosophy or should I call it doctrine.

they're not for Boko Haram, rather for regional deterrence. the countries with fighter jets, how many times do they fight wars with it?

Fun facts, Israel don't manufacture fighter jets, the get it for free from the U.S and Nigeria is not the only country buying from Pakistan. Ukraine, Azabarjan,Myanmar,Indonesia, Philippine all have order for the same Pakistani jets.At $18million it's the cheapest fighter jet on earth.

What is good about purchasing old cargo jets from old cargo country?
Can Iran use such useless jet or even try to buy it?
Nigeria need to level up. Even as they are still under USA arms embargo doesn't expose them to buying world war 1 jets.
