The reasons given for the so-called strike does not hold water. You're just putting ordinary citizens under undue pressure. Is it the citizens that will provide so-called protection for your members?

This is just retaliation for the South's opposition to the Fulani terrorists herders. It's about time we look inwards.

I was saddened by that comment. Turn out some southerners are psychopaths looking to exploit the situation and further impoverish their own people.

God bless the northern oligarchs.

You are ignorant. This is from former GMD of NNPC. I hope the North has started looking for other places to get cheap fuel.

Citing the example of neighbouring Niger Republic, Mr Kyari said a litre of petrol in a Total filling station in Niamey, the capital, where he visited recently, sold for about N464.
Compared with Nigeria, where petrol is currently being sold for between N160 and N170 per litre, he said the average disparity between prices in Nigeria and Niger Republic was about N300 per litre.

The South will cut off oil supplies to you dirty parasites in the North. You can now go and use your rotten onions and tomatoes and collect oil in Niger. grin

see olodo. The total volume of oil produce in niger or chad can not meet the need of 4 northern states. Palm oil ,vegetable oil are already killers ,industrial chemical, ferterlizer which you depend on, all come through the south, machineries fish which your people love. All through the south. Tell me what you produce that can not be replicated by the south with our vast amount of arable land .less than 7% of land is arable in the north in terms of nutrients compare to over 40% in the south. Gradually you are waking the sleeping Agricultural powers of the south. I pray this continues. Remember the tomatoes glut. The south was force to upgrade it usually sour tomatoes to a much better one which it was able to produce in large quantities. After all it's all about quality land .which we have in better quantity

Do you think the South is prepared for this?
It's not just about saying it...

The North can't sustain this for a week. Their economy will be ruined.
The South can import and produce it's food within 2 months. That is when you will see how useless the north is

Open your eyes. Go and say Nigeria is one to bandits or terrorists and get your throat slit by a teenage mujahideen.

The national question which our fathers couldn't resolve, this is an opportunity to resolve it and to do it peacefully too.

To say Nigeria's unity is final with that tone of arrogance smacks of self-delusion and ahistorical logic. Nations don't always stay together. They can splinter into their preferred new forms if the situation deserves it.

Open your eyes and mind and have a learning disposition.

Have a nice day.

We will soon ban oil tankers from crossing into the North. Prepare to buy a litre of fuel for 1,500 from Niger.

Something just struck my mind now, could it be that the government placed restrictions and ban on poultry products for the prices to be too high for common man to buy there by leading to the increase in demands and dependent on northern cow, and not because they want to protect poultry farmers. Because I see that we have enough herdsmen in Nigeria and the government isn't banning importations of cows to protect local herders. Knowing fully well that the poultry farmers we have can't produce enough to meet the demands of the south. Herders from Niger and Mali stroll freely into the country from the north.

I wonder what the government will say if southerners intend to source for cow from Benin republic. Shebi there's no ban on live cows only processed meat is banned. I bet they'll adjust the laws to include live cows too immediately people start to look elsewhere for cow. They banned poultry products both live and processed but only banned processed meat, allowing Nigerian and others to keep supplying us cows through the north making us think that all is coming from within Nigeria.

Make una no worry na small small we go dey learn

The North has terrible leaders.

So nobody can advise them that the buyer is the King and it is suicide to blacklist your largest market?

Don't worry, they should give it a year.
They will lose their southern markets.

apart from terrorism, banditry, poverty, and diseases, what does the north offer to the rest of the country? You are highly mad...Stop trying to console yourself with stupid thoughts of how the north can survive without the South or all those nonsense.. because if the north can truly survive without us, they would have allowed this country divide.....we are the ones who can survive without pests like your people that is why we are the ones seeking division and not the other way round...you this bastard.

And you are happy the way they are killing the northerners. Even if they start their own we will survive it cuz a lot of country in the world doesn't have petrol yet they live more happily than we that have the petrol.

Exactly what we are saying. There is petrol in Niger for 500 official price. Before it lands in the North, it will be like 2,000. Go and buy there.
The South is already working on alternatives to the North. In a few years, you will be commercially useless to the south and be forced to watch your farm produce rotten

Smh... Why can't Southerners unite and ignore these bastards from the North... Must you eat meat and yams?!!

Look inwards and find alternatives. See this as a great opportunity to outgrow this useless monopoly.

A lot of Nigerians are just mentally lazy even with all their education. Any small embargo, they go into panic mode.

We should learn to look at options
4 thousand naira meat wey I buy on Friday be like bobrisky blokos. Very small. I no talk. Yesterday na fish I buy. Plenty and sweet. My kids dey do yuck yuck I dey do yummy yummy. Last last we chop am together and slept happily. Moral...look for options. As meat no dey I enter fish. If fish scarce I go enter crayfish. If crayfish scarce na to buy Maggi chicken flavour. The flavour go make believe. Them say onions go scarce I don buy the flavours down. Pepper scarce I don buy plenty ata gungun. If tomatoes scarce we go use tinned tomatoes.
Let's adapt. When their craze come down after hunger show dem kukere dem go sell. We move

funny enough the 4k beef and the fish that cost less would supply you same nutritional value protein which is more reason we eat them.
some people believe eating fish against beef means poverty but no taste differ, choices differ etc.
if they hold on to their beef let us face fish and if fish cost like mtn 'ògá na fish cos', make we face chicken abi na them still dey supply chicken?
high time we Nigerians return to self-sustainability, raise local chicken at your yard, if they are too stubborn raise the agric that can be tamed las las everybody come dey alright.
remain happy it won't get to us using flavour, this is wake up call for all to use that small space in our premises for self-reliance and sustainability.
al iz vel, it is well even in the well.

Firstly, Niger and Cameroon combined together do not have the purchasing power of the South. grin The North can throw Chad in the mix and it won't make any difference.

They should continue the blockage until Argentina start dumping their beef in Cotonou and your guess is as good as mine where it will all end?

Or other countries that produce the food we need use Benin and our porous border as a launching pad to sale their products.

Since Nigerians tasted foreign rice they have refused all local rice even with the incentives and gimmicks. That will be the fate of the North once Nigeria taste those South American beef.
