Hi Everyone,

Is there any Toyota parts seller that has Toyota Genuine CVTF FE transmission fluid is stock? Please indicate.

Thanks.

Reason I always avoid cars with a cvt transmission. Plus the transmission is very much hard to work on, in terms of repair and very costly.
It'll be hard before you come by one, Good luck tho.

Thanks bro, I eventually found it at Tradefair. Very expensive though. I was surprised when all spare parts sellers in my area and my mechanic said the car uses Toyota WS trans fluid, it dawned on me that many users of this generation of Corolla are probably using the wrong trans fluid, and my have issues in the future

It's mostly due to them (owners) being oblivious to the type of transmission built into their car. The moment they see the gear lever with the P R N D markings, they refer to it as automatic trans. Plus the only con of a cvt to auto is its fuel economy and nothing more. Ps: I can't imagine not having a real gear but a simulated ones with a fake throttle blip.

Hi, i was in your shoes until i got the Toyota cvt FE oil for N20k (a silver squarish can). I was lucky to do alot of reading online, else my mechanic would have just used AT oil.

My car is about 64k mileage, i just wanted to do a regular drain and refill maintenance, knowing CVTs are fragile. The oil has been in my boot for some weeks now because on one hand i fear mechanics dont know the procedure as they mostly fail to know the difference between a CVT & AT! And on the other i am just told to leave it as its too early to start worrying about changing transmission fluid, if i tamper with it i might just mess it up.

I now have an expensive oil i am scared to use! Pls, i want to know if you had yours done successfully with no regrets. I hear getting them repaired/replaced cost so much!

If i knew before hand that this corolla uses a cvt, i for just add money buy Camry.

Hi, yours is due for a change. The first change is at 60,000 km, and 30,000km subsequently. I changed mine and has been working very well for almost 3 months now. All I did was get the fluid, downloaded youtube videos on how to change it, then made sure the mechanic followed same procedure.

Ok. In the videos its basically just putting same quantity of oil you brought out. Did the mechanic also plugged in a machine and did the gear changes?

Is your mechanic Abuja based?

Ok. Thats a relief. The one i watched, after drain and refilled, wires were connected to the odb port and the gears were changed at intervals. The guy doing it said it was required to recalibrate the ECU.

That was the part that freaked me out!

Thanks

Hello, please my mechanic put WS into my CVT FE gear by drain technique.. Vehicle refuses to move in drive or reverse… Has anyone experienced this problem. What options do I have??
We just drained the oil and would add CVT FE soon. I just need all recommendations. Thanks

Wow! The issues (if truly there would be any) shouldn't be that immediate. Unless na water wey dem pour... Even if you pour dexron the car should still drive out of the lube and very much around for some good period nah🤔
However, so was the refusal to move into drive or reverse corrected after pouring the cvt fe fluid in?

I hope this thread can come back alive!
I have just serviced my car (2014 corolla) with the (new package) red can CVT FE. But I think fluid in the red can smells different compared to the (old package) silver can Id used in 2020.

Pray and hope the new one isn't a counterfeit!

It has that smell due to additives added to it. It's very different from dextrons.
