Just got appointment date for i and my family. Sadly , the date i got was 30th November, 2021(7.30 a.m) for lagos. I just had to accept it first before looking for closer dates.

I saw people making comments about receiving appointment dates here. So i decided to check for myself and realised there were no dates until i saw this date a couple of days ago after almost six weeks of checking. Just keep checking something might pop out as it did for me.

Me fill it. Cos I don’t wanna make a mistake. He then gave his friend in the UK who’s a travel agent to fill it for free. He didn’t ask of my passport to upload. He only asked of my bio data, I sent him the a copy I snapped with my phone instead of a scanned one. I was at work and promised to scan the bio the following day. I was surprised he processed everything without asking for my passport. Now, he used two names instead of three names on my international passport. And I can’t edit it. He registered via this site: https:// cgifederal.secure.force .com. Someone should pls help me on how I can edit it properly. Thanks

Nigerians... we are our own problem.... what would it have taken you to actually fill the form yourself... i mean.. you paid for the VISA... take time fill the form... the form is built in a way you can save where ever you are and come back to finish... so even if you decide to take 3mins a day to fill the form you would have filled it... .. anyway.... if the form has been submitted as complete... i am sorry... you have to cancel that submission and do a new one... but if the form has not been submitted as complete.. then let them give you the application ID so you can login and correct the errors..

Doubtful anyone would be hosting an in-person conference by July. You should cross-check before spending money on the application just in case.

I live in Texas, it's been "open" since last year. Corporations (even government agencies) are unlikely to schedule any in-person webinar at this time. Unless we all get vaccinated by May. Fingers crossed.

Nope. You have to submit the form before your interview. You will get a confirmation slip which you will take to the embassy.

Since the government will be sponsoring you to attend the conference in your official capacity as a civil servant, why can’t the government (your organization) help you process your visa through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja. If you do that, you wouldn’t even need to go for an interview and you’d get your visa within weeks if not days, all things being equal. I think the visa you should be applying for is A1/A2 or G1/G2. Anyway, my comment is based on the assumption that you are talking about a major international conference, which I doubt any international organization would be hosting in-person in the middle of a pandemic.

People have been seeing appointments in Abuja in the past weeks. Its possible it has been exhausted. Just keep checking. I saw someone states earliest appointment in Abuja is now December.

I had an argument with someone yesterday that obviously, diplomatic visa real, but for someone who is not a part of a diplomatic mission, that can't be possible. I argued that the system is now so sophisticated that they Oyinbo can't be fooled with this in the 21st century.

That even if it does, the whole deceit will be detected at the point of entry. In my heart, my argument was not convincing as I dont have real life evidence to corroborate my claims. I just have this absolute trust in the system of the of the US embassy to detect deceit.

Can anyone shed more light on this. Or does anyone has a real life experience on it. The guy said it is a Visiting diplomatic visa.

That person is just dreaming, he will be caught with such fake visa even at the airport in Nigeria let a lone US.

It is your duty to find out. If I were in your shoes, I would ask them to send me a letter clearly stating that this is an in-person conference, detailing the events e.g. if there is going to be a field trip. Also, check their website to see if they make it clear it is an in-person conference. Expect that the VO will check the website for him/herself. If all these checkout, then go for your appointment.

If you have not submitted your DS-160 application form then you can simply edit it and fill in your wife's details instead.

However, if you have already submitted your DS-160 application, you can still fill another DS-160 application form for your wife, then go to the CGI website and change the DS-160 number on your profile to the new one and reprint your appointment confirmation.

Lastly, if your profile appears locked and you are unable to change the DS number, then as a last option the admin staff will change the DS number for you at the appointment centre just let them know you made changes as explained earlier.
