I see he has genuine intention to help mitigate the risk the canal presents. I feel he could have just done an anonymous donation and not let his name dragged over a trivial project. Politics is a dirty game, not everything needs your credit.

so with this your explanation, is there need for a sign post indicating 2020 project, so because he drop 100k, it is now a project that needs public awareness, I think he is the one that needs to grow up.
