Even if the fight is unpredictable there is a greater chance that Jan injures Izzy than the other way round. He is bigger and stronger and has single KO power against guys much bigger than Izzy. Izzy can win with skills and speed without damaging Jan while if Jan wins it likely would be through brute force and inflicting injury on Izzy.

Meanwhile this Kara-France is naive. You keep hitting until the ref says stop.

Jan is way too big and strong

There is a reason for those weight classes. No be play play. Moving from middle weight to light heavy is no joke. Light heavy to heavy is still reasonable.

All the pushing and shoving that works for you at middle weight won't work against heavier guys. The punches that stunned guys at middle weight might not affect light-heavy and heavy weight guys.
Then crucially, nobody in middleweight punches as hard as a hard punching light-heavy weight. The power is different.

I am just happy there was no major injury.

some guys are real heavy hitters and it's not funny. other times it can be the balance of the individual on the receiving end at the moment the punch landed
over time though I discovered that relying on technique alone hardly cut it.
you always need some hammer beneath your skin to go far.

I knew it was over after her opponent had that look on her face when she punched her. A really audacious ‘AH!’ escaped from my lips as well.

She was faster and meaner and the way she was built complemented those qualities.
