The government upholds the American system. A "poor" person in the United States will eat better than the average Nigerian. No one is starving in America unless it is by choice (usually drug related). If you don't have housing in America, the government will give you housing. Don't believe the stories about homelessness. In the US it only means you do not have a home with you can pay for monthly and live with your own individual family. If you see the homeless and temporary housing given to the homeless, you would weep for Nigerians. There are so many benefits for the poor in the United States including stable electricity and constant clean water. Just forget trying to uplift Nigeria. Make your leaders accountable.

A 100K monthly salary earner in Nigeria is better than a 400K monthly salary earner in the United States.

The luxury lifestyles some of us live here with 100K, cannot sustain us a day over there. We can’t try such in US and save a dim.

Some of our annual rent here is weekly/ monthly rent over there. Can you pay over 100K naira monthly house rent with 400K monthly salary here in Nigeria? You can’t do that, but you don’t have a choice over there. You pay or kicked out of the house.

Some of our people over there are becoming wiser now. They don’t mind sleeping on the streets, work for at least 5-10yrs, move back to Nigeria with their savings. You cannot survive with 100M living comfortably a year over there. Tax go finish you up. But you can live large with 100M for 5yrs or more here in Nigeria depends on your lifestyles tho.

You don’t pay unnecessary tax here. But in foreign countries you pay almost everything.
In naija you can own 10 cars..not in the United States because you pay for packing space for each car. You get the point now?

Some of our people in diaspora, once they earn $10K in a month or so, depends on the job, they’d send $9K down to their Nigeria account and keep $1K for their upkeep. Some would buy lands and build houses for rent or some other businesses.
If you don’t do that, you’d work all your life and come back with nothing. Those of you on this method are wise. But becareful of the people you send your money to here. Trust no one! Get a trustworthy lawyer involved.

U can make unnecessary noise or play loud music here. You can’t try such over there and not find yourself in police cell.

So you see….We are privileged here. We only need to get bad political leaders off the way. By getting involved in politics, national, state, LGA and community affairs. That’s how American youth you admire, do.

They don’t just fold hands, wailing and waiting for a miracle. They debate, disagree, challenge, involved and create. You get the point now?

400k Job in the USA? Even if you mopping the floor, you will earn more than 400k monthly.. average you will earn is $1200 monthly

Because things are so hard in Nigeria we are merely working for survival. That's why the fuse about salaries.

People in America just work to pay bill and feed themselves and if by the end of the day they couldn't afford to build a house or achieve much, they will have still lived a better life than a rich man in Nigeria..

You see all these Yahoo boys with flashy cars and mansions for a house, their maga abroad are mostly average citizens..

Nigeria’s biggest problem is the judiciary and security operatives , they need to enforce the laws of the country for Nigeria to move forward

my monthly expenses is over 100k still am not living any luxury life but average lifestyle infact manage lifestyle

it seems you don't understand the meaning of luxury

as I am, I drive basic car but not luxury car & I know how much I spent on monthly basis to fuel it. I spent money on generating set both at home & office, I contribute every month for my community development (road, electricity, security)

in America, government build roads, provide stable electricity, security etc & I see no reason why people living abroad should not pay huge tax

here in Nigeria, we provide for everything on our own still we pay taxes in different form

All these things that you mentioned is true but let me go there and confirm by myself after all there is no crime in trying.
Lmao 100k and u are made. Oops don tey for oversee he no come know say nigeria is hell on Earth.
It's funny.
I lived in UK as a student. I worked in a call centre answering phone calls in addition to my studies.
Well, I was a very small boy in UK.
My salary was about £950 per month. At that time, £1 = N250
So that will make the Nigerian Equivalent N237,500 per month.
-
Shey I don land?
Well, My student 1 self contained room rent was £180 per month (then O, not now, 2021) - And this was the cheapest I could find. The next option is to go and stay under bridge.
- The school fees of the school,
- Phone and Internet bill
- Money for laundry (you can't wash clothes with your hand. Their water is ice block)
- Transportation to work daily
- Gas money for heating the freezing room and cooking my food
- Electricity bill money
- Small cash to keep aside for visa applications/extension other serious emergencies
- Small money for 1 shoe like £20 ~ £50
======
The whole £950 don finish be that.
======
I think say na magic.
1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years..... Same thing. Money finish.
==
Maybe if I go again as a professional instead of a student, we may see better job and more money. But then again, house rent now is like £700 PER MONTH O!!,
NOT PER YEAR.

See GumTree advert for house rent:
