By then, most freedom of religion rights will be shredded. As a conservative pastor, a gay couple can insist you wed them or find yourself in court for discrimination. As a conservative doctor, a pro choice can insist you perform her abortion or find yourself in court for denying her the service. As a conservative institution, your pro-choice employee can insist you finance/insure her near-term abortion.

By the time these guys are done, there will be no religious right to object any service based on conscience. Everyone will have to dance to their music.

Why insist on what a child must play with? Who came up with these divisive rules in the first place. And in as much as the traditional role play still resulted in gender dimorphic occupations, why not let a child be seeing that you may likely end up with the similar results. Or are u implying that one's occupation is heavily dependent on the choice of toys used during childhood? If so, then that's almost nonsensical.

Now Western marketers, with growing pressure from the public (by way of the government and social media) are getting with the times and deciding to end the practice.

Gender-coding is discriminatory: it implies girls don't like football or the color green; and implies boys don't need to practice social skills with dolls and teasets. A boy in the pink section is considered funny, but think about it: that decision was made by marketers. There's nothing in nature that says "pink is a feminine color". It's all in your heads.

If the girl's section is filled with replicas of domestic life - kitchen sets, baby and fashion dolls; yet the boy's section is filled with replicas of professional life - carpentry, trucks, robots - what does that say about society at large? If we as a society accept that women and men can have the same type of jobs (women can choose to be doctors, and men can choose to be home makers), it's only natural that the acceptance extends to other spheres like toy stores.

I find it especially funny that T-billz, a man who depends on the hard work of the women he makes babies with (instead of making his own money), is complaining about changes in traditional gender roles...

If you go back to the 1700s and 1800s Europe, you might be confused with the sight of manly men skipping around gayly with fancy feathered hats, tight hosiery, kilts, and high heels. Fashions, trends, concepts change over time. Europe wasn't always Christian, nor did it always have gender-specific toys and colors. You just happen have grown up this current phase, shaped and formed by people who preceeded you, and - like most humans - aren't comfortable with changes from what you have grown accustomed to.

The rigid gender-roles were invented by people to fit the times, and they can be changed again by people - to fit the times.

A government has to walk the delicate line of whose rights get infringed upon ... either support the conservative (who use religion as justification for discrimination), or the liberal who view their rights as supreme. In the past, governments were founded on the principle of "serve God", and so they sided with conservatism. However, modern governments have been established with the notion of "we the people... with inalienable rights"... so they often have to side with the liberal.

It's a hard problem, and both sides of the story often take things too far, instead of being reasonable...

I can't relate, sorry. I'm only Nigerian cause my parents are originally from there. So if you guys are dumb, delusional, etc., then it makes sense why you couldn't understand my message. There's no aspect of child formation that's not important including basic orientations. Creating distinctions based on stereotypes and making the girl settle for toys that depict weakness while the boys are encouraged to use stuff that gear towards tech, hardwork, etc. doesn't help anyone regardless of the location. This has been the case for long and that's why it's almost a man's thing to study Engineering or even fix appliances at home. California took the right decision and like I said, Nigerians criticizing the move down there in Africa have no clue.

You can agree or disagree but don't let lack of good nutrition, poor genetics, poor learning patterns & bad environment make you insult people you don't know online. There's no excuse for that.
