Good evening Sir, and I'm very sorry about the above. Firstly, I'll want you to put your mind at rest. In order to avoid misdiagnosis, I'll be very happy if you can share with us other problems you observed. Also have you complained to the Vet who administered those drugs and what did he say?. Although I'm tempted to still suspect worm infestation due to the above signs (esp distended abdomen and melena), I'll withhold that for now till I get the complete picture. Please ensure you respond ASAP, I'll be on standby.

Last night she growns and when she breaths in it will take 2-3 seconds before she breaths out. She always lie down flat on her tummy.

She has not pee for 24 hours now

Good morning sir, at this juncture, you'll have to take her to the hospital for her to be placed on admission and constant observation. I'm suspecting the abdominal distention and accompanying pain is affecting the breathing. Once you get there update me, I'll be on standby

Thank you Doctor for your feedback. I took her to the vet and the Doctor gave her some injections and also a drip. When I brought her home, she was able to pee which she hasn't done in the past 24 hours.

She still doesn't eat, she won't take even water and she hasn't pass any stool yet since yesterday Night. She just lies down.

Case 2:

My male GSD puppy also had a bloaty stomach so i took him and my female to the vet yesterday. She said she suspects worms. But she said she needs to release some fluid from his tummy. She used a syringe to inject the abdomen n drew out some fluid upto 5 syringe full. The puppy kept moving so she had to stop. She den gave him injection to make him be peeing out the fluid and administer dewormer to the puppy.

Later in the evening i noticed the place she gave the injection has swollen up with free fluid. I took him and the female puppy today. She tried to free the fluid but it wasn't coming out so she gave him same injection to make the puppy pee.

Now there is more free fluid dangling down his tummy.

Doctor at this point I am really worried about my two puppies

Update:

Doc, the female pup can't still when I stood her up she was able to pass small black watery stool.

The vet said she analyse the pup blood and stool samples but couldn't identify the specific virus in her lab but she said the treatment plan the pup is on is in line. Please Doc what can I do?

Sorry for the late response sir at this juncture you'll have to be patient. Please next time ask the name of the injection that your Vet wants to administer, it's your right to know!!!, although I presume a diuretic. Let's be patient and be observant. I'll dm my WhatsApp contact to your incaase of emergency and follow up. I'm so sorry once more.

Thank you Doctor. I have decided to change a vet doctor this evening.

The new vet doc diagnose the pup of Parvo virus and he said it has gone deep into her. But he gave her injection and said we will commence treatment tomorrow. Morning and evening.

Good morning sir.

Please we have on our hands, a case of a 3 months old toy breed who was successfully treated for Parvo and is making good recovery.

However, the dog often limps like something is wrong with her right hind leg. When touched and massaged, she cries out in pain and possibly turns for a bite. She used to be jumpy and always running around but nowadays she is always seen lying down and seldomly wants to run unless when she can't help it. She even drags her hind legs on the ground sometimes and this is becoming worrisome.

We have contacted the vet who treated her and explained her present condition but he seems not to have a solution for her.

Please what can we do so this dog won't end up disabled?

Your advice will be highly appreciated sir.

Good evening sir, I'm so sorry for the late response, today was extremely hectic. It was a good decision you took by going to the Vet. What you just need to do now, is to keep your dog in a cool and warm place, avoid stress to the affected area and give food rich in Calcium and other minerals like fish, meat and vegetables etc. You can occasionally exercise your dog when your dog gets relieved. Please be my guest anytime

Good afternoon sir, provided he feeds well, put your mind at rest, he will still add up specific for it genetic predisposition and specie. BTW have you dewormed because worm infestation can also be responsible. If you haven't, please do so ASAP and update us on any development!!!

Hello please I've got a problem with one of my dog's eyes for about a week now. Noticed in the evening it had some strange brownish discharge. By the next morning, my dog's infected eye was fully closed. Only opens it on rare occasions. Took it to a vet and he gave it an injection. Said it was because of the regular fight it had with my other dog, a GSD. 3 days after, the eye has not improved and it has not gotten worse. Another vet told me to get an eye drop with antibiotics or something. Got it and two days later, it's still the same. I'm tired.

Good morning Sir and I'm very sorry about your dog's condition. First of all, I'll appreciate if you can post the picture of the affected eye, so as to assist in diagnosis and recommendation. Meanwhile, I'll give you a list of what to do;
1) Get a clean cotton wool and soak in a mild antiseptic
2) Gently use it to dab & clean the affected area and while cleaning try to observe if there is any debris or particle still retained around or within the eye that may be causing the inflammation, if found, gently remove it. You can also gently try to open the eye while checking.
3) After that, apply the eye drop you were given but confirm the constituent first, it must have aside antibiotics/pain-relievers, an ANTI- INFLAMMATORY, I can help you on that
4) Finally, I would prescribe a systemic anti-inflammatory and antibiotics to supplement the eye drop, but would be after I've seen the picture of the affected and perhaps asked some few further questions. Please ensure you update us on further developments. I hope this helps!!!!

The eye drop i'm using for it is Chloramphenicol. And I don't think it has Anti-imflamatory.

If you can't find, just simply get diclofenac eyedrop it has very strong anti-inflammatory properties. You would use it concurrently with the chloramphenicol.

I also need to point out that my dog has been scratching it's body seriously for the past 2 weeks or so. It has some wounds around it's body due to the scratching. Even discovered a new one this morning. I don't know if this can be related to the eye issue.

I've brought an Eye drop. It's not indicated on the cover, but the Chemist says it has Anti inflammatory and Antibiotics. It's called Ivygentacin.
