Abagworo: Every well meaning imolite support expansion of the city center. But the problem is just the quality of projects and the motive of such constructions. You can even build on oceans with the right process and technology. And not grabbing lands here and there in the name of expansion. The bane of African development is greed. Nothing more, nothing less. 1 Like |

Abagworo: Pally chill, Rochas has his numerous faults, but his actions expanded the city, Hope from what am seeing, is just gonna force land owners to pay compensation and value of the land they acquired. Because Rochas actually gifted most of those lands |

Jman24: Take a good look at that Royal Palm hotel for instance. The money spent there can cover all open gutters, interlock sides of the tarred roads and business areas. Is it so difficult to build a world class city? 1 Like |

Jman24:Problem with Royal palm estate, is not misappropriation of funds, but the structure being on a green verge . If the white paper is implemented as recommended, then every new structure about 10000 will go down in Owerri. The white paper tried hard to deny the fact that a governor has the powers to change the purpose of a land. 1 Like |

Jman24: The environment of that Royal Palm is how most residential areas in Nigeria should be. Whoever planned and built the estate deserves to be employed as a city planner by government. 8 Likes

Abagworo: Africans in general and Nigerians in particular have not leant anything about democracy especially in the area of conflict of interest. Okoroawusa created policies that will benefit him and his cronies. Hopeless Ozodingba can bring heaven to Imo State, he will never amount to anything valuable to me since he publicly proclaimed to have invited the Nigerian Fulani soldiers to Orlu. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Idiko1: 10:16am On Mar 13, 2021 |
asha80: Are you still searching for truth in Nigeria? The issue is not the truth but honesty. The government led by Okoroawusa and Ozodingba cannot be trusted for anything. Government policies are led by executive orders or laws created by house of assembly. 2 Likes |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Idiko1: 10:30am On Mar 13, 2021 |
asha80: Bro I am not into counting of names. Ihedioha could be hardly remembered as governor of Imo State. Was the white paper executed by the order of governor or any law passed by house of assembly on the advice of the alleged panel? Why would Ozodingba cow-toe to the idiocy of Ihedioha? I had thought the government should be visionary and innovative. |

Abagworo: We are still saying the same thing. Why localize it for your own personal pleasure or gain. When citizens should freely enjoy a replica on major streets? Like I said, the bane of African development is greed. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Idiko1: 11:06am On Mar 13, 2021 |
Abagworo: There is absolutely nothing which will justify the greed and penchant to overlook the issue of conflict of interest in the construction of Royal Palm Estate. If Okoroawusa's services to the people of Imo State who moronically elected him into office of governor of Imo State are replicated across the length of the state as he did with Royal Palm Estate, everybody in Imo State would have been singing praises of his name. 1 Like |

Jman24: I'm still wondering why such idea was not replicated on some new layouts in Owerri at least. On another note I like the fact that the estate was built in Owerri to serve as a proof that government can create livable residential areas replica of what we see in Europe and Dubai right here in Nigeria. |

On the White Paper stuff: A state governor acquiring lands for his private, family members, or associates’ businesses contravened the laws of Nigeria regarding elected public office holders. Those lands acquired or businesses built on the lands become property of the state government once the succeeding administrations probe into the process through which the lands were acquired. As for talk about Owerri Master plan, we should be talking about Master Plan for development of entire Imo state, if not that successive governors of Imo state since 2011, except Ihedioha, hate development in the senatorial zones they come from because of their disdain for Orlu Municipal area; therefore indirectly have disdain for their hometowns and the people in the senatorial district they come from. Modern development flows from urban to rural areas, as it’s in Owerri senatorial district, never from rural to urban areas. With the political leaders’ disdain for Orlu Municipal area, all of Orlu senatorial district remain villages. Who shall talk about Master Plan for development of towns in Orlu and Okigwe areas since the political leaders that have emerged from the two areas since 2007 have deep rooted disdain for development in the principal urban centers in the two senatorial districts? |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Abagworo(m): 10:17am On Mar 14, 2021 |
Mathoj: You are getting closer to why I am against the white paper crap. If the present Governor approves land for him at Oguta lake shoreline the next Governor will claim the decision is wrong because of politics and could even arrange natives of the community to claim they were not duly compensated despite the fact that it is in interest of the State. There's this beautiful diasporan estate approved by Okorocha government for a private investor along Okigwe road which has been closed and frustrated because of change in government. The investor is from Anambra State and has incurred a lot of loss because of dirty politics. You can see that Orange drugs knew this sort of politics before siting his industry in Anambra |
