Great people of the ehauling community..

i greet una.....

pls i really need to understand the RULLING on RPM of a car(corrolla)

mechanics say that at idle speed, 1000 rpm is the norm which i always argue with as i know very well that it is suppose to be around 750 to 800 RPM...

so after fixing my car recently...
i notice that my car started doing brake n quince.
my RPM was at 750 at the time..
mech says its because the RPM at idle was too low that i should increase it to 1000RPM.

so after increasing it..
i noticed its stable now but am still not comfortable with it....

pls i need advice..

If we talk now na something else, with your narration now you understand its btw 750 and 800 and you still allow them to increase it. Oga once you brake and the car goes off something is off from coil pack to plugs to fuel injection system and couple of other things. Scan and be free joor

Yesterday I picked up a rider from platinum road lekki to lekki phase 1, once at the destination he told me not to end the trip that ill tals him back, waited for like 3 mins, and we headed back, trip ended payment is 1k, he was shocked just as I was, he said when he ordered it was 800, that how come he's paying 1k for round trip, I didn't even know what to say, he just gave me 1500.

What could be the cause of that, any ideas?

Let me start with the bolded.

You should always tell the rider when starting the trip. In some cases, especially when they are seated at the front, I point at my phone as I inform them I'm starting the trip. In most cases they just say it's fine. In one case I experienced, the lady sat at the back and she said I didn't show her when I started the trip and I told her the notification is always sent on the app when the trip is started.

Personally, I don't feel it's a big deal telling the rider you are starting the trip as it's just to eliminate any feelings being defrauded or the likes. Some drivers would slide arrive without getting to pickup and by the time the driver gets to pickup, the rider is already waiting and your paid waiting is already on 5mins. Some drivers would even go on to start the trip before even picking up the rider.

Guys, if we are being honest with ourselves, all these are cases of fraud and it's wrong.

About two weeks ago, I picked up two ladies at Thomas Estate on a Friday night. They were going to Lekki and it was on surge. Before I started the trip, I showed the one sitting in front that I was starting the trip. Immediately I moved like 5m, the one seated behind said the person they were going to meet said there was heavy traffic everywhere so they should reschedule. She said they were no more going. I told her I've already started the trip. I ended it and it displayed N900. She was like ah an, we didn't even move! I turned to the one in front and asked her, "You saw when I started the trip, right?", she said she did. That quashed what would have been an argument of whether I started the trip before I came and all that, and I was paid.

Like I said, it's no big deal when you tell your riders you are starting the trip.

For taking permission before making calls, I wouldn't even bear the thought of a complete stranger listening in on my private conversations. Besides it's even wrong to make calls while driving because of distractions and all, that's why you would most likely be arrested while making a phone call while driving (even when in traffic) except of course you are using a handsfree device.

Bottom line is, we are in a service industry and as such, our aim should be to make our 'customers' as comfortable as possible because whether we like it or not, of there are no riders, there would be no drivers...

You spoke well.

But one thing for sake of next time, any trip a rider didn't go on after starting the trip and it's less than 1km should be taken as "trip didn't happen" you're npt supposed to collect money for the trip. This was clearly thought during the physical training sections on both apps.

Anyways, no one is perfect. You meet a gentle rider... Those daughters of jezebel will never pay for such trip.

Also, I do not have a teaching permit. If car was mine now enh en I for no mind but as its not mind its main reason I back off but haven't have time to explain to him

This is why drivers are where they are today because of the mumuric acts of some drivers that think the way they act is the right way when the app owners never instructed them to do so.

Now you hear that its normal to make cash transfer when actually saw that they could use their card on the app since they would be paying from their bank account not cash at hand. Some drivers caused this or is it the app companies that asked you to take cash transfer during your training?

People have made it look mandatory for drivers to inform a rider you are starting a trip when the rider's app NOTIFIES them right from the moment you accepted a trip, arrived at their location(Uber), started a trip and arrived at their destination.
So why the fuss about "you didn't tell me when you started the trip" when the app they have on their phone does that for them?

Thank God it's coming from a lady, if i talk now them go felicity001 na talkative as if the talk nabtheir talkgrin

Bless your heart dear you really nail it.

Permission my a.ss... Fork rating I do not care about it... The day I no more have an account to work or I chose not to drive again is the day 100 and 1 better opportunities will open put to me

Guy be calming down.

The act might look stu.pid to you but to me it's not a big deal. Not everyone has the time to glue to their phone because they ordered a ride.

Some may be in a hurry, some don't even care when you start the trip. Sometimes I forget to start the trip maybe like 500m into the trip before I'll remember and I'll start the trip.

I had once forgot to start a trip almost half way the trip, the rider didn't ask if I had started it or not. Same way I had once mistakenly started the trip few minutes to PU rider still didn't know but I still had to inform the rider of the mistake for my conscience to be clear. So I don't think it's a big deal telling them.

Good name is better than that feel a rider will have of you wanting to defraud them.

I once gave a stranger a ride, rider doesn't know the place but I do. Rider was expecting trip to end around 6500 to 7500. Trip ended 4100 and rider was like wow! What happened?

Nothing much, just that I took a shorter route without traffic. Rider gave 6000.

You don't need to allow the attitude of some riders to change your personality.

plz can I pm you I need guidance with the uber business

Fuel Attendant New Cheating Trick.

I went to Mobil filling Station, Abule Egba this morning to purchase fuel 5k. The sell normal price @N162/ltr.

The young guy programmed the pump at N5k and started selling, I was with my son in the car so I didnt border stepping outta the car, nevertheless, I was watching erratically. The young guy was standing close to the pump counting the money on his hands and I could see the pump at 3800+ and I looked away, the next seconds I looked I could see this attendant guy punching something from the other side of the pump and on my own side of the pump I saw 5000 blinking with a dash (- - - -) on the place where the amount of litres is been displayed. Immidiately, the guy quickly removed the nozzle and the closed my tank and came to ask for money. All of this happened with seconds.

I was like, anh anh, watin happen? That thing show 3800+ just now how come 5000 con dey show all of a sudden.

Knowing I've caught him, he quickly put the bpame of NEPA that they change light thats why.

I then said, so if them change light na him you c9me close my tank? Already i don step out of the car, open my tank and asked him to complete my fuel. As he removed the nozzle again to complete the fuel the initial sale pop up and it was N4,054. All this while during the conversation that 5000 and the dash lines where still blinking o.

I was like wow! So this is new trick you guys do to steal from people.

Guys be watchful when dealing with these guys they're all thieves.

Boss, you of all people should understand that some of what was taught in those training classes is quite different from what is obtainable on the streets of Lagos. I lost N500 TWICE using the "trip did not happen" option. In both cases, the N500 was added to my earnings and the commission was deducted.

Since then, I learnt that the only time I wouldn't collect money from riders if they intend on cancelling the trip is if I've not already started the trip. In fact on some occasions, some riders would just give me N500 for the stress of coming to PU.

It's always been their way since.
Someone always punch from the back, when you're not looking.

The one selling to you will punch the prize, put the nuzzle and notify you to check the meter. Before you know it, he will come stand next to your door, in a position that will block you from seeing the meter.
You'll not suspect anything cos he's not touching the machine. But someone will just punch the amount you're buying from the back and that's it.

It's been pretty long I got cheated buying fuel. And I'm not sure they can ever cheat me again.

The best way to avoid this is to maintain your eyes on the metre from start of sale to finish. Never look away.
Sacrifice that 1 or 2mins.

Do these people have brain at all, or they specialise in making us suffer on the roads.

How can they be working on Bonny camp bridge and still want to close down falomo bridge. The only two routes to VI, that's how they closed third mainland bridge while Eko bridge was still shut down. Horrible people
