thebosstrevor1:You are a tribal bigot and hate yourself for not being Igbo. That's what am trying to establish. Your suffering from inferiority complex. Your past actions and words...will always be used to judge your present state. Dont you know that? |

I hate threads like this which insults major southern tribes. What are the social, economic, educational, environmental conditions of the Hausa Fulanis today with all their useless extinct empire? The IBO's stand heads and shoulders above the Hausa fulanis. |

Mumu poster go do ur research properly first of all igbos are republicans by nature with strong kingdoms scattered all over igbo heartlands before the coming of the white men. The igbos have so many heroes of old who fought and resisted british colonial rule great heroes like king jaja of opobo, ekumaku warriors of anioma who fought against the british for over 20yrs, the arochukwus, mbaise, mbano people and so many others that gallantly fought against the british colonial conquest for decades. Besides being a strong powerful nation is not about the nation that have the most powerful monarchy the greatest country today is the united states they don't have any known history of having powerful old kingdoms or monarchy but they are currently the most powerful and the most influential nation on earth nobody jokes with them not even britain and their powerless queen. |

thebosstrevor1:empires are forged in the fires of war, this is the number one problem, how can you convince highly democratic IGBOS to go to war just for fun? Do you know the meaning of umuneoha, owerri, mbieri? Do you know the meaning of unubi, obosi, ihiala and okija? Finally do you know the meaning of uli? You think the igbo is your normal African humanoids. You will never ever understand. There is a reason we never had a standing army,it is so that no man will use such infrastructure to oppress others. Even the king is checked so much that the British indirect rule failed woefully in the Eastern region. We have an empire but it was not forged by war,it was forged by the tenets of democracy from the West in Edo to arochukwu. Our empire is bound by a force greater than any human instruments of destruction,an idea called freedom. The YORUBAS and hausas are happy slaves, freedom is impressed in the DNA of the igbo. IGBOS only fight when they have no choice, when every igbo is threatened.igbos are not your usual Africans,IGBOS look similar to Ethiopians than to black Africans |

People are out there doing better things with their time and all you can post on Nairaland is this trash... The Darkness is truly using some human souls. That was how antisemiticism started gaining ground in Europe before the WW11. It only take one fellow to drop the thought and see it spread. You have just sown a seed that you don't know the load of what it may return to you but I assure you that only negativities can be the outgrowth of a post like this. thebosstrevor1: |

thebosstrevor1:Your question is akin to asking a Muslim like yourself to mention his prowess in domestication and rearing of pigs, to show he was civilised and advanced to conquer the various illnesses associated with parasites in pork. Just like eating pork without dieing is not the only measure of advancement in hygiene and sterilization. Empires and Monarchies are not the only advanced system of government. Saying Igbos are unorganised because you did not see empires, is akin to saying Muslims are dumb and unintelligent since they could not sterilize pork. You can not evaluate a people by something they abhor. For you Education: Igbos were a nation made up of villages as the basic political unit. Igbos had no Kings, apart from a few exception at their expansion frontier with other groups, such as the Aro that you have so much heard of. Aro was not a native population but a rallying point for migrants from across Igboland. There is a reason for lack of a national military machinery. Rather each village political unit maintained it's own warriors. Nri Theocracy is the reason, it was the fabric of our national identity, but never used military means, but ideologies. In fact, not all Igbo communities subscribe to Nri followership. Nri as a community it self had zero authority outside its boarders, and lack any military might for any form of forceful domination. It was the Nri priest that was special, not Nri people. Nri Theocracy was run totally on ideologies, it was responsible for 1. Defining abominations and vacation of abominations 2. Religious Doctrines - of God, Chukwu Abiama, 3. Standard of Moral - Offor na Ogu, -these have no equivalence in English but are used same way you guys swear with Allah, saying Gaskia in the north. But it connotes more- providence, uprightness, faith and resilience 4. Wealth Stocking System 5. Elitist club of leaders - Nze na Ozo, who are tied to the stock exchange system, as responsible members of society. 6. Complex, pyramide structured Title system, which distinguished members of the society, and varied ther influence without granting any absolute power. 7. National Consciousness- kept aflame by roving bands of Nri priests. These national systems, are well seperated from the daily political governance of our villages. Which still dovetail into our Nri theocracy. For the village life, governance was different, it was based on Republican system of governance. Someone asked what we call Democracy as a principle- we call it "Egbe Belu Ugo Belu". It translates literally to "Allow the vulture to perch, even where and when the Eagle perches." We have a principle of assured self representation for every free born male. Unfortunately, females were represented by their male relations. But every man has a right to have a say or a vote on any issue. We had Police in the village political unit, as the masquerade ages young men. Masquerading ensured that policing actions carried out by the village could not be pegged on any 1 person. We had courts, the most honest man was as asked to hold court. Participants had to be willing to subject to his judgement. Else issues were Appealed, first to the Congress of the kindred (Umunna), thereafter to the village Congress. Parents strived to give their children silver spoons, but we have a worldview where we believe circumstances of your birth, should not limit you. In fact, it is derogatory, if a man is married for by his parents. It showed lack of initiative. Still, that you have a say, does not mean you must say. All men were equal, but had inequal influence, which is often reflected in titles. Titles were not just names, but held the bearer to certain level of moral and religious obligations. Violating them meant the Mother earth could kill you. Last, because our national consciousness was theological, we fought no national wars, till the British came. Most of our expansion was by acculturation, which the target self imposed by engaging Nri priest to solve their problems. Ofcourse, if you believe infidels should be killed, I do not expect you to understand conquering or leading people without conquering them in pains and fear. |

Not everyone is a monster. Go through my thread and see for yourself I abhor divisive tendencies and stereotyping. See people as humans first and don't forget that the brotherhood of man trascends sovereignty of nations. If you see humans as that you will be just fine. If you on the other hand have a hold on spiritual understanding (not religious) of the purpose of life on earth then you will denounce such a mission as you just set out for yourself thebosstrevor1: |
