MI-35M is 18 remaining to be delivered ( see attachment). Probably additional 12 orders have been made.

M346 also on pipeline.

6 Mi-17 on order

Was unable to add the file but check flight international.

Screenshots added

On Sipri the AW-139 delivered to Nigerian navy is missing, also the 3 helicopters for Nimasa/navy are also missing.

Although the CJ3 maritime patrol aircraft was mentioned.

- 5 units of KLTV-181

- 8 units of Phantom-2

- 2 units of Citation-3 maritime patrol aircraft

- 400 units of APKWS anti tank missiles for Tucano

I find the acquisition to be quite underwhelming and uninspiring, especially for the Nigerian army.

We pick one here and we pick one there.

Notably missing is NNS Lana, and the C-falcon boats.

Can you imagine what the Army is getting, that's why this war will be a step forward and one step backwards. The army is the major component having direct contact with the enemy yet we are buying equipments not up to tenths undecided

Me too see am o!
The purchases are piecemeal and if the much anticipated massive onslaught against boko haram/ISWAP and the inevitable accompanying loss of platform, what we'll be doing is(to a large extent), replacing the (anticipated) loss of platforms (GOD FORBID SHA).

Like I said pages earlier, this isn't good enough. More can still be done.

Very, very poor. Not even up to 10 PCs of each.

Utterly disastrous.

The Nigerian army continues to be severely underfunded despite successive governments coming into power.

We are talking since Yar'adua, I mean it is wrong for anyone to ask the army to give what they don't have.

Procurement history of Nigeria is abysmal, we seem really satisfied buying in single digits.

This is also reason I doubt the 24 units M-346 Africa Intelligence story. Also it's hard to believe speculators like on twitter like Beegeagle when the actual facts state a totally different story.

Meanwhile, we are ordering a total of
11 fire support vehicles(artillery & howitzers)
3 MRAPs
8 Drones
5 Light armoured vehicles
5 Boats
15 Planes
18(or is it 7 helicopters (its not too clear)
8 APCs
2 marine patrol planes

And......

700 Missiles for the 33(or 22) planes and helicopters we are expecting.

Unless we have a VERY LARGE stock of said missiles, this if VERY POOR. Unless we have perfected our missile technology and Considering we already have lots of platforms on ground, CLOSE AIR SUPPORT is a mirage this year.

And when I say we can do more, I was told that the operation on ground is more than enough.

We dey here...... We go see the end

First the root of the problem need solution.

Security Manpower in Nigeria

NCS 17,277
FRSC 20,000
NDLEA 5,300 (unsure)
NPS 27,992
NIS 21,357
NSCDC 40,000
NPF 370,000
NN 20,000
NAF 15,000
NA 162,000
DSS + DIA + NIA 5,500
*Total = 698,926 security personnel*

*Population = 201,989,640 Million (estimate)*

DailyTrust.

And we have so many graduates ready to be recruited.

How many DSS operatives will help gather intelligence considering the current security situation in the country.

Even the entire security manpower is less than what we need for police alone.

You have valid points here but...... Don't you think a decentralized police force(I know state police has disadvantages but it still has lots of VALID advantages too) would reduce the handicap of the NPF?
Secondly, is the NPF really doing their job or are the more interested in bribe collection and VIP protection? Is the situation where the army responds to armed robbery, kidnapping, BOKO HARAM, drug smuggling...even VIP protection acceptable? Are customs, immigration, NDLEA. civil defence etc actually doing their jobs to the best of their capabilities? I don't think so.

We are having a problem of low manpower but..... Let those with jobs do the jobs they are being paid to do properly first....... Then we talk of their equipment, condition of service, political interference then decentralize the NPF before we look at employing more people.

My humble opinion sha.

Lack of political will at play here. It doesn't affect them so they don't care. And also, Buratai needs to be investigated.

Thats the thing. The money is there, but it depends on what kind of service chiefs you have to get it as CAS Saddiqe has shown. He was not only a military man, but a politcian as well. He knew who to talk to, who wine and dine with to increase NAF budget.

With any luck Irabor and Attahiru seem much better than the immediate past leadership of NA. I have a feeling we'll be seeing additional acquisitions for the army this year under their watch.

Also on the new jets, new articles keep popping from all over, which seem all too detailed to be passed off as a rumour but we'll have to wait and see

A simple question: all the ATAKA missiles, on what will they be used? Surely not on BH Toyotas and motorcycles? Isn't it more cost effective to use guided and unguided rockets?

- Boko buildings/Structures
- HVT BH Toyotas

From NAF videos, these have been what they've been used on.

I can understand HVTs. 81mm/120mm mortars; 90mm guns, rockets etc should suffice for the rickety structures I've seen in videos.
Cheaper too.

For a country with the kind of population we have should have federal, state and community policing in order to be effective.

If the policing structure is effective am sure we would hardly even remember the military.

For you to know the police can never be effective just study Nigerian budget over the last 15 years and tell me if you can make any difference with it.

The military killed the police force back then in the 70s and they are still trying to make police irrelevant even in mordern days. This is why sometimes I don't pity them.
