I think you should look for a peaceful African country to relocate to, Nigeria economy doesn't favor start-up right now.
Re: Relocating Back To Africa Or Staying Abroad by Nobody: 10:28pm On Mar 16, 2021
Op, please I beg you in the name of God don't return to Nigeria at least for now.
The insecurity is growing worse on daily basis.
If you must relocate to Africa and do business, make research on other African countries

I don't know you in person but as my fellow Nairalander, please take my advice very seriously
Don't come and risk your life here
Secondly don't trust anyone here at all,you have to be very careful,

Hello Nairalanders,I am 30years old and currently live in Germany . Honestly I am tired of this Whiteman land and I want to relocate back to Africa by end of next year  but every one that is close to me has told me not to ever think about coming back to Nigeria. Currently I have an equivalent  of savings of 130,000usd which i made during this cryptocurrency bull run and i have a three bedroom flat in Nigeria.I feel that it doesn‘t make sense for me to have such an amount of money and still do a work of 3000euros per month. My other concern is about the high rate of start up failure in Nigeria  but i do not mind going to other African countries where the business environment is friendly . Please i need advice .
Like some said, test the waters first then decide.. For business, you could be importing used cars/laptops since you're in Germany...
Given the current economic atmosphere in Nigeria I would strongly discourage a full relocation...

you can go back for your mental health sake. Having such amount in your bank, won't it ring alarm bells from the authorities in Germany?

Do you know why I won't advice you to come back here? Its simple, there is no real democracy in Nigeria. I hope you are hearing all that is going on, the terrorism and the increased insecurity in the country? There is no day in Nigeria that people are not butchered and tossed to the ground for the birds of the air to feed on. Right now op we have people who are advocate to the various terrorist groups in Nigeria eg shiek Gumi.police and military brutality is on anothet level,in fact you can be killed for protesting and demanding for good governance. Terrorist are now on government payroll.my brother look before you leap.

I'm trying my best to leave Nigeria because I just have to preserve my sanity and life a long life..a lot of things are wrong here but like someone said come back and stay for at least 3Months and decide whether this place is for you or not.
stop watching the media bro for your sanity. So you know you can go to borno and stay one year without terrorist attack?

Thanks. I was actually expecting something like racial discrimination and attacks. Germans being cold is easier to deal with.

damndamn:
if you are coming to germany please try to learn basic German and you will have better opportunities in big city and also know that germans are cold AF but i will pay you well if you go to Canada cos Canada is more liberal than Germany.

Lagos island is 80percent safe or you might consider cape Verde cause is the best country in Africa to live and for business or Gambia,if you go to the fronpage of nairalander all you will see is fulani herdmen, abduction and death so the story of the country ain't progress
Re: Relocating Back To Africa Or Staying Abroad by septumstunner(f): 9:18am On Mar 17, 2021
Test the waters first before relocating. But honestly I won't advice you relocate back to Nigeria. For your business to grow and succeed in Nigeria, you must have strong connections, otherwise watch your capital burn in flames. Everything about Nigeria is wrong right now.

We must tell ourselves the truth, the Nigeria of today is different from Nigeria of 7years ago ,have you seen the latest news this morning ?
Besides you musnt be robbed or shot at before you believe the level of insecurity in Nigeria
A nation of few rich people surrounded by many hungry and angry people, what do you expect
I will advice even my worse enemy not to relocate back to Nigeria at least for now

That's not how it works! You don't wait till you are robbed or shot to know if insecurity is getting worse or not. You need to look at media reports and "official" press releases from government security agencies.

So if someone is robbed in the Bronx, that means the whole of the Divided States is unsafe?

Stop talking nonsense.

lol of course the media would cash in on every news that's how they feed. You should be talking from your own point of view, what is the situation report? I believe insecurity is majorly in the rural areas and along the highways. Op will do well to use flights when moving around.

tell me your experience and where it happened. I know some places in Nigeria are in hot soup especially in kaduna, zamfara and south west oyo and ondo. Can you say that akwaibom is not safe or enugu or owerri or jigawa or gombe or kebbi or even ph?
Today in America 8 people were shot dead in cold blood, so the whole america should run away because of that or is it last week a girl was killed by a police man in Uk, even in Uk they are killing people in care homes with lethal injection, so the whole uk should run away because of that?

Look into starting business or real estate in a stable and safe african country...don't think of coming to Nigeria, insecurity is increasing everyday

No where is 100% safe but countries are safer than one another...Op is better off moving to another africa country than nigeria...someone said he should be taking flight bcoz of insecurity and he should never move out of lagos island, is that the best way a citizen should live in his country...if there are safer africa countries where he can start up a successful business why should he choose Nigeria

That's the belief until you read a lot of articles of people robbed at night in Lagos.

I am not a firm believer of night outing. If they rob people at night as you say why is it that Lagos always come alive at night?

you are talking about being safer than the other, the women that were killed went to an upscale spa for the rich and were murdered. Can you be killed in Naija when you go to a spa?

I lived in Kaduna and just a few days ago around 39 students were abducted from their school in igabi LGA. And I speak they are still in captivity. I know people who were kidnapped and have to pay ridiculous sums as random.

JTFs are springing left and right further excerbating the issue. Bloodshed and senseless killings is now commonplace and no longer shocking.

The security situation in Nigeria is terrible and rapidly degenerating and descending into anarchy. Though some regions have it better like in most southern states.

Don't try to downplay these issues please.

Modified: I realized in your subsequent comments you are trying so hard to justify your stance by even going as far as equating the shooting incident in a spa in Atlanta( which is rare) to the daily incident of insecurity challenges we are facing here.

Such logic says a lot about your way of thinking and the kind of person you are.

look at my previous post, you can see I mentioned kaduna as a hotbed but even at that it is not as bad as the media has painted it. You are even alive praise be to God. The reason why kaduna is insecure is because of el rufai, he sponsors them.

okay. Nigeria is a good place. Target akwa ibom, bayelsa, ph, enugu, akwa, ebonyi, imo, Lagos(island), abuja, kano, gombe. Use solar to power your house, get an affordable fuel efficient car, don't womanize and continue in crypto. Good luck
