We can stop Hijab controversy in our schools by either abolishing hijab completely or cancel uniform entirely for pupils or students. Uniforms should be uniform. It prevents discrimination. Non-muslims cannot go to Muslim schools without covering their heads. Muslims should not go to Christian schools with hijabs. It will cause anarchy 10 Likes |

Islam is not Yoruba culture Christianity is not Yoruba culture The Christians are innocent here. Yoruba should be careful and not let strangers tear them apart, fanatics from other tribes will try to influence you, remember you are Yoruba first! 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Monogamy: Brother, I don’t think this should be an issue in this age and time. The Christian schools in question are being funded from the revenue of the state government and that make it a public funded school. Now do you mean the Muslim student should be disenfranchised from attending the school that is being financed from proceeds from his parent taxes? —I think probably the State government should return the school back to the Christians and stop funding it and term it as a private school and they can create a law that ban Muslims from attending the schools OR allow Muslims sign an undertaking that they will adhere with the Christian doctrines if they chose to enrol their kids. —However that leaves some grey areas. What exactly will the Christian lose for having a Muslim girl on Hijab? I find it rather disturbing that this kind of issue can even be debated on when we have moved past this era. —Are the Christian girl forced to wear hijab when they attend Ansarudeen and other public Muslim schools? Sane countries allow the Muslim girl the right to Hijab, why should Nigeria case be different? The white missionaries that established those schools gave the Muslims the right to attend and our forefathers allowed their Muslim and traditionalist kids to attend the school so why are some current Corp of Christians trying to disenfranchise those kids? I don’t blame anyone in this. I don’t blame the Christians and I don’t blame the Muslims. Nigeria itself is enough to plant the seed of religious discord in you because it’s a cohabitation of chronically religious bigoted ethnic groups and unfortunately the Yorubas are caught up in this web. But I think people need to be re-oriented and each party made to see that as Yorubas we should have gotten over things like this. 17 Likes 3 Shares |

LegendHero: The school has its uniform why try to add hijab to it by force. Besides its a christian school not n Islamic center or school. I think the muslims here are just mischief maker. If not why not go to Muslim school where hijab is allowed. Why are they shamelessly particular about christian school. Go to alhikma university you will see christian girls forced to use hijab. No one make noice because its by choice. 13 Likes |

Kdon2: Is it being funded by the state government? Yes or No? If Yes, is there a kind of school constitution which parent know about when enrolling their kids for common entrance that says they must adhere to the Christian doctrine to attend? Are the Christian students made to wear Hijab compulsorily in Muslim government schools like Ansarudeen and etc? I attend Ibadan Grammar School, I sing Christian song daily on assembly ground, read from the SOP, and my Muslim classmates are allowed to wear their Hijabs. By the way, it’s an Anglican school taken over by the government. So what changed now? 8 Likes 1 Share |

You want equal and fair treatment but then treat people unfairly because of their religion. Hijab is islamic wear, i see no reason why they can not be used in a state government sponsored school. Government schools are not for Christians or muslims, they are for all. 4 Likes |

Muslims have problem.. serious one, especially the black ones in sub-saharan Africa e.g. Nigeria I still see no reason why muslims will wear hijab to a missionary school if not stupidity of the muslim governor in the state. CAN must never allow such to stand. Even here on Nairaland, you can't post on muslim threads if you don't swear oath but they go about misbehaving as they like, posting nonsense on christian topics. Na small remain, una cup go soon full. 1 Like |

SporaD8: He would not reply. He ran away. Islam is about power and politics. Islam is more of political institution than religion . Every Muslim practices jihad in various forms . War is a form. Hijab is a form. Helping only muslims is a form. Selling products or providing services to muslims at a cheaper rate is form. Creating and lying to non-muslims is a form. Marrying non-Muslim girls is a form. 1 Like |
