Politics / Re: Breaking: Presidency Replaces Kachikwu As NNPC GMD by Postulates: 2:37pm On Feb 09, 2016
Just saw this trash. Please, discard this, as it is not true. The GMD of NNPC remains Dr. Ibe Kachikwu until after a time of his choosing to step down.

Also, watch what will happen in the upcoming weeks to the person in question, as found on this thread!

We should desist from spreading propaganda for Internet traffic.

Dont mind the guy. Just stay calm and wait till the worldwide oil crises improve.

I will give you a hundred and eighty thousand naira monthly for one year, if this 2012 recruitment goes ahead. My word is my bond. Regarding oil crisis, I guess you are referring to the price. Provided Iran enters the market with its 1.5MMBD, the price will plummet, varying between circa $23/B -$30/B.

Provided USA continues stealing oil from Iraq, Syria and getting royalties (crude oil) from Kuwait, with current Iran sanctions lifted, 2016 will be a difficult year for the oil industry. The psuedo-belief that shale gas E&P activities is lucrative is rubbish as the above supplements from Iraq, Syria and Kuwait is offsetting their cost in shale gas adventure. Story for another day.

Shut up your mouth. Interview was scheduled for Feb 2015 and not Dec 2014. You failed the test and u ar praying for them to cancel the recruitment. Do you know how much they paid the consultants.

My people, everything about sthe successfuls is in the database\. Phillips consulting was also their consultant in the last two recruitments; 2008 and 2010.

My people, be optimistic. We will be called for interview next year. Current economic meltdown in oil and gas cause this delay.
Mobil, Chevron, halliburton, Schlumberger and many oil companies are experiencing recess. Many oil companies did not even advertise for
vacancy both home and abroad.

I dont know why u people dont think critically and look at both sides before you make a statement. As a Manager, you wouldnt even want to employ with this economic situation going on not only in Nigeria but the whole world at large.

Prelinctus, have you forgotten all the discussions when NNPC had no GMD and after kachikwu's appointment and there was no minister as some said the recruitment will be endorsed by the GMD and the minister?

There has never been a time when NNPC has been without a substantive GMD.

P.S: In Nigeria, the word 'Acting' usually translates to 'Substantive' e.g. There was a time Sunday Ehindero, ex-IGP was named as acting IGP for over 2 years - January 2005 to June 2007.

Politics / Re: In A Deft Move, Buhari Gives Key Portfolios To Southern Nigeria by Postulates: 2:48pm On Nov 12, 2015
malton:
cool. I like that Kachikwu doubles as GMD, NNPC. Makes him the most powerful GMD to date.

Buhari is indeed smart! He assigned himself the substantive minister of petroleum so to avoid Kachikwu clashing with some minister policy wise. He must believe in him to entrust such huge responsibility on him.

This more than balances the equation.

But then again, Barcanista is pained, I wonder why he must wail over everything! Abi na from you Buhari snatch Aisha? Tell us something, TonyeBarcanista.

Carry go, Mr president!

Lalasticlala, abeg no tire for me!

Get your facts straight. Gaius-Obaseki had a similar arrangement as NNPC GMD whilst Obasanjo as President, doubled as the Petroleum Minister between May 1999 to May 2003; (at this point Edmund Dakouru was appointed Minister of Energy) though Obaseki's tenure ended in November 2003. To be fair to you, it has been a long time since such an arrangement was setup, where the President doubled as the substantive Petroleum Minister.

In terms of balancing the equation, PMB got this right. The configuration in the Petroleum Ministry is such that on paper:
PMB - Minister of Petroleum (North)
EIK - State Minister of Petroleum (South)
Dr. Shu'ra Jamila - Permanent Secretary Petroleum Ministry (North)
Prospective GMD - South (My prediction)

Politics / Re: NNPC: Buhari Set To Replace Kachikwu, Shortlists Three Northerners - Daily Post by Postulates: 4:01pm On Nov 03, 2015
Mere speculation! At no time was Musa Kida considered for the post. Again, someone from within the corporation will be appointed as bringing someone from outside will slow down the momentum gained and cause a setback of 3 months; learning the ropes of NNPC.

Someone else has been tipped for the post. A northerner would not land the post as the past six GMDs of NNPC prior to the incumbent have been from the North. Yar'Adua (Katsina State -NW), Barkindo (Adamawa State - NE), Ladan (Kaduna State - NW), Oniwon (Kogi State - NC), Yakubu (Kaduna State - NW), Dawha (Borno State -NE). Kachikwu is from Delta State - SS region and status quo will be maintained, implying the post will go to a southerner appointed from within or outside (doubt this) the NNPC corporation.

P.S: A scenario exists where both the Petroleum Minister and NNPC GMD can be from the South. Such was the case in 2008 when Rilwanu Lukman and Sanusi Barkindo assumed both roles respectively. They were both from the North (Kaduna and Adamawa States respectively).

Baru is from Bauchi State in the NE region of Nigeria. Kachikwu is from Delta State - SS region and status quo will be maintained, implying the post will go to a southerner appointed from within or outside the NNPC corporation.
