Same for me. But there should be additional tuition fees apart from this 90K (40K utility and 50K lab fees). Can we go ahead to pay the 90K now?
No need to rush. I will check back later when the full fees have been updated and received the official e-mail. Congrats on your admissions everyone🫶🏾

I have been offered admission too… Master of Science in Civil And Environmental Engineering (Structures Option) (Part Time)… I have also generated payment. I’m supposed to pay a total of 90k. 40k for Utility Charge and 50k for Laboratory/Field Trip

But where am I supposed to make payment? It was not included in the payment advice. Can anyone help with that please?

£50 - £60 for a UK concert makes sense because the UK minimum wage is around £12 per hour. A person can work five hours and buy Burna's concert ticket without shaking because the ticket is proportional to his earning power

Now compare that to Naija where the minimum wage is 70k, and only about 2.4% of Nigerians earn above N200k per month, and you'd realize the N250k pricing is disproportionate and in misalignment with the Nigerian economy and reality of most Nigerians.

If one follows the UK proportionality logic and applies it to Naija, tickets no suppose pass 10k but nobody realistically expects the promoters to drop the tickets to that level because pricing in itself is a form of crowd control and a way to filter the audience but 30k or thereabout for standing tickets would still have made economic sense.

The show is for diasporan returnees and detty december crowd angle too no make sense because those guys cannot fill even the 6000 capacity Eko Convention Centre on their own. Their numbers no reach. For the venues to be filled to capacity, you'll need the home-based Nigerians.

And when the shows are priced like luxury goods, the home audience automatically gets locked out. Then promoters go turn around and say Lagos no dey profitable. How will it be profitable when the core market wey fit fill the venue no even fit dream of affording entry?

It's okay for artistes to go global. But if dem wan do their December homecoming concerts, the pricing should reflect the economic reality of the home base

OR

Make dem no kuku do december shows for Naija at all. Nobody go vex, and life will continue.
Exactly💯. Why must they even attempt to match their UK/US biggest cash-out pay from a one-off 9ja show, knowing their local fans are way poorer?
And their entourage is mostly 9ja-based right? So that alone should reduce their cost as lower flight tickets, wages to the event security/personnel, and other miscellaneous expenses should be lower in 9ja vs UK/US?

Except that the organisers (Flytime) are just being way too greedy with their profit margin, the ticket pricing is pure nonsense —no justification at all for such high fees. I even tried to book Asake's own immediately they announced it, but they conveniently only showed VIP (300K for a standing ticket) and VVIP, no option for regular tickets. It's just weird that your own local fans (who helped push your platform) can not afford to see their faves even once a year for a reasonable fee. Says enough of 9ja exploitation culture.

The shows might be a flop cos how will they get 5-6K Lagosians/Nigerians to pay 250K, 120K, 120K, 300K, 250K for back2back Rema, Flavour, Olamide, Asake, and Davido shows in concurrent days (Dec 21-25)? Except they will later sell the regular tickets closer to the dates after exhausting their VIP/VVIP sales.

He was trying to point you to the basic strategy for deciding/picking names. First identifying adequacy of endusers/ use cases as he suggested.
From your response you need to calm down to receive mentorship which is crucial. Lastly HVAC is an Electrical service not even electronic talkless of been related to mechanical.
His comment wasn't to say your name can't sell (maybe you are working on a buy request) but trying to help you eliminate the guess work which most of us domainers still operate on.
Yeah, I get it now man. Thanks. It's all good 🫶🏾

Infact in any quest in life. You should have an open mind, a learners mindset.

You are just starting out, you can't afford to be sacarstic
Sorry, it came off that way (and yeah, I tend to use sacarsm). But I truly felt your question wasn't just a “question”, if you get my point. It's all good man.

What is the use case for these names?

Which business or service do you see using these names?
Isn't the answer to your question quite obvious?
Well, it is US-based Lottery services/National Prize catalog for first combo and HVAC/Mechanical services for the other.

I just bought my first domains (4 names for a start) to start my portfolio.
Didn't do much research, but I think the names are good for a start.

The 4th one is for my personal brand, but I would like to add more new names with time. I bought them via Unstoppable for $5 each today, so I guess I will have to wait out the 60-day holding period for fast transfer to kick in? (I’ve listed them already on Afternic)

Also, thanks to everyone for sharing your knowledge about this domain business. I'm only trying it out as a side hustle for possible new income stream & I’ve learnt a lot already from reading through this thread. Gracias!

For this one, I agree. I'll walk away
Just use protection man. Apart from the STI risk, pregnancy situations are also not nice. And she, being older and insistent on “only raw” while playing away matches with other partners, put you at risk of paternity fraud (or at least fake pregnancy allegations). For your own good, stamp your authority on the use of protection going forward. If she refuses, take a walk, man.

Extra: Frequent STI tests and hotel lodging expenses can easily be leaking holes to your growth (added this because you said you are working on getting your own apartment). So the usage of protection and paying visits to her own apartment could cut costs for you too. But if you are okay with your current arrangement and have better plans for yourself, then ignore this part. Overall, you aren't doing bad at all man. Ignore the “Simp” comment cos getting relatively nontransactional sex is never a simp move.

My two cents.

I agree with your perspective 💯💯

The real fix for the economy would be to have more productivity, export more and shore up our reserves with earnings rather than debts

That's why net reserves figures are a better measure of progress than gross reserves.

Thanks for sharing these nice points. Let's hope for the best✌🏽

You don't compare with u.s federal bonds.
You compare with other issues we done at yields as high as 11%
You compare with yields on Eurobond issues from other African government which are around 7-12%

Then you compare with yields on domestic debt which are around 19%.

No African government can get commercial instruments at same rates as the U.S government.

Why we're celebrating is cos this potentially helps the currency which in turn helps the purchasing power of the masses.

For instance at $2000 Keke napep would be 3.4m when USD was 1700, now if it crashes back to 1350, it will become 2.7m which is a relief for the man on the street hustling to buy one.

Same with polished parboiled rice.
Same with cars,
Same with refined petroleum products.

And quite importantly when foreign substitutes come down in price, even locally produced goods get cheaper.

Everyone gets to buy a little bit more.

If you noticed, part of the profits MTNN reported in Q3 that helped them exit negative shareholders funds and even pay a dividend was cos of naira 's appreciation.

Specifically about 61 billion in Q3 vs 105bn they're paying in dividends.
I was thinking about the long term. Is it a sustainable approach? Didn't the current government put much blame on the earlier one for the same loans, and now they're repeating the same mistake? Imagine our Nation using 40-60% of our total yearly revenue to service debt. And it will keep ballooning up. Tbh, the current dollar/naira rate might not even sustain this level for long, and we might see a similar 2023 sharp devaluation within the next 2-5 years. Just my opinion though.

Business Day reports 8.75 for the 10- year and 9.25 for the 20-year.
Exactly, this explains the oversubcription. USA Federal bonds hovers around 4.0-4.5% yield, so a 9ja Eurobond of 8-9% yield is very attractive to both local and foreign investors. Which isn't necessarily a good thing for Nigeria in the long term with our rising debt servicing cost and static dollar revenue. So I don't get why we are the celebrating the oversubscription news.

It was Huijsen. Carreras gave the ball to Huijsen after winning it off Salah. Carreras was solid today.
Thanks for the correction man. I watched our game and PSG vs Bayern together so my attention wasn't 100%. Thought it was Carreras. Huijsen has been pretty mediocre lately and as it stands, should be benched in the later UCL KO stages/big games when Rudiger gets fit and ready by then.

Please include Carreras, he tried against Salah. Also tried to support Vini who was ass throughout the match.
Yeah Carreras was solid as usual defensively, but felt he had one too many shaky moments in the game e.g the erratic clearance in the 1st half that led to Wirtz creating that big chance for Szobo (or was it Huijsen?). But he was better than most of the others (except the 3 mentioned and maybe Valverde IMO).

Win 3 of our remaining 4 UCL games vs Olympiacos (A), Man City (H), Monaco (H), and Benfica (A); and we will have 18pts which should be enough for top 8.

Edited: Didn't feel bad about tonight's loss, but omo the performance was terrible😂. Courtois, Militao, Carreras, and Tchouameni were the only bright sides today. Bellingham tried a bit in the first half but didn't continue in the 2nd. Onto the next game: Rayo on Sunday.

La Liga is really becoming a dead league. Both Madrid clubs dominated by Arsenal and Liverpool. Courtois saved Madrid from an embarrassing scoreline.
Home advantage also played a part. Don't know if it's bad luck, but most of the big group stage clashes between Spanish and English teams so far this season have the English teams at home (Arsenal vs Tico, Liverpool vs RMA, Newcastle vs Barca, and even the next one: Chelsea vs Barca). But yeah, English teams as been superior in recent H2H overall.

What is Huijsen trying to prove by playing such nonsense so far? He is even putting Carreras in trouble.

Vini and Mbappe are doing nonsense so far.

Solid from Bellingham in all areas.
Huijsen and Guler off for Asencio and Brahim by 60-65 minutes is the way to go.

If Vini did what Raphinha is doing right now after the Ballon D’Or, Barca fans would be calling him a crybaby/egotistical/idiot

I have ZERO issues with Raphinha thinking he got done dirty, he walked the walk

But the hypocrites will be hypocrites
Tbh I feel a bit bad for Raphinha cos he truly deserved better recognition for his last season's exploits. He should be making the FIFPRO XI and Balon D'or top 3 podium, but Barca/Media pushed Yamal over him as their best player so lesser PR = lesser recognition.

Vini last year debacle was even worst cos tbh Rodri was never the "best player in the world" at any point in the 2023/24 season, but Balon d'or "journalists" just had to do their thing with the typical bias pick. That's history now though as we've all moved on from the episode.

With Masta out, who do you all prefer to start vs Liverpool tomorrow between Camavinga (using the same setup vs Barca) or Brahim at RW? I think Xabi will go with either of these two, as it is unlikely he starts Rodrygo at RW or tries something even more different like Valverde at RW and Trent at RB (seen some Madridsta from MM clamoring for this option too).

For me, I think Camavinga starts, but Brahim in a 4:3:3 would be more effective as Liverpool's backline has been struggling lately (especially that left side of VVD and Kerkez).

Guler has 5 assists so far in Laliga. Great player. I love him.

If Bellingham is in form, the whole team is in form.

Mbappe! What a player.

Xabi Alonso is cooking good.

Franco is just vibes and no end product. Nothing
Franco will come good soon. I like as he gets into decent scoring opportunities, especially from his UCL cameos e.g vs Marseille. I feel he plays with some instructions, like coming inside often to combine with the midfield. But his attributes like workrate, not shying from the ball, close control, and invertedness as a winger makes him more polished than most 18yo. Though I agree he should have more G/As from his opportunities so far. Hopefully he gets better after his 4-8 weeks hernia injury spell.

Nice XI, though Salah or Raphinha probably should have made it over Palmer, but a solid choice by FIFPRO overall.

When people become too emotional about a company or because they wished people lose their money so they can say I told you, then it's senseless.
I said n I quote, buy and sell on your convictions and not follow follow that left some people trapped in oando.

Immediately I discovered clearly that Ellahlakes management are interested in sp of their shares I have to tell myself the bitter truth and act accordingly.

I had to move my funds with over 400% gain to presco, okomu, VFD and access.

My leaving doesn't mean people can't make money and me staying doesn't mean people can't lose money... Follow your own convictions and not strangers here.

Any company that is obviously desperate about sp is a turn off for me.

If presco does the same tommorow, I will leave without leaving a Kobo there. No emotions.
They were always desperate to pump the SP from #3-5 level, so you actually gained nice loot from their desperation. I doubt you didn't see the signs even back then when the SP started shooting upwards, but you were smart enough to stay and only drop down from the bus when the hype started cooling (nice play🤝). But that doesn't mean their desperate games can't multiply their current share price again X2-5 in the coming months/years.

It's like a Ponzi scheme, as long as they keep pulling in new interested buyers/traders from their PR campaign, the SP will sustain the current level or keep climbing, until everywhere finally bursts (or the company turns a corner and becomes a legit profitable business). People currently invested in the company knows this truth already, but the hope of cashing out in multiples (similar to your 400% margin) keeps them invested.
