Wonder shall never end, Saraki (Afonja) of our time wife trying to bobo me and you whereas they never tell us where the SGN and Intercontinental bank monies are kept nor how Saraki who decided to kill his father for his present post was able to become the Senate President throughthe thick of the night. But are we so daft in this country? Why are wo so dossile in view of the political nmachination of the few? Saraki is continuation of People Destryoing People (PDP) in the gown of present day useless APC just to continue to mortgage the future of the unborn Nigerians. I keep the rest to myself.

Where is any reasonable Nigerian that can pitch his/her tent to where the likes of never do well Wike and Fayose side if not the generations of those waking their parents with slap and sending them to sleep with kick boxing. I actually do not like giving a pessimist and discouraging comments on other members/group thread but pardon for doing this most especially for the singular fact that you included agriculture.
If your interest is 3% on a monthly basis, thnths gestation period giving bus an interest pay back of #90,000 on #500,000....I'm sure this is exclusive admin and other charges.
This is quite high for farmers especially if your model demands a monthly repayment without moratorium.
Honestly, I think organisations like yours should give exceptional incentives to agriculture if indeed you are keen in helping to diversify the country economy from oil and gas.
This is just my humble opinion and mean no harm.
Spot on @YoungSoology, l support that there is consideration for agribusiness especially the genuie ones. this is where l think government should come in to boost agricultural output to guarantee food security and earn foreign exchange.

If one is not a politician with deep pocket, from any of the well connected family, not a thief but with ambicious business concept, registered and sustain his/her business with little he/she could raise personally by selling some of his/her belongings but desire to up his startup, please, where exactly can such person get finance(s).

Some will like to say BOI or BOA, l want to say that those government agencies are there to deceive and make life unbearable for startups, they frustrate young entreprenuer with ease. Imagine a startup that is required to bring huge collateral to get paltry loan, Require PENCOM certificate of which the company must be in existence and must have contributed for period of three years before such company can participate in government activities. Commercial banks are no go area because of their requirements and cost of their capital. Nobody is ready to bring out money to assist start ups because of trust and other reasons.

In view of the above, we cry of unemployment everyday, we depend so much on foreign goods that can easily be produced within the country at the detriment of building our economy, we help to finance and create employment in the countries where these products are coming from why we create unemployment in our country. Yahoo yahoo, quick money via betting, ponzi scheme etc are the order of the day.

I think of all these. The question remains PLEASE! DO YOU OR AWARE OF ANY ORGANIZATION OR INDIVIDUAL THAT CAN LISTEN TO A STARTUP FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING SUPPORTING LOAN, BUY-IN OR EQUITY TAKER to start up agribusiness company? If yes, please, recommend so that gradually me and you can beging the process of reducing unemployment, build the economy, and make life bearable for us in the country called ours.

Nigerians are hard working, the youths are creative while adults are still willing to contribute, but the missing link still remains, HOW CAN ONE FINANCE A START UP COMPANY OR EXPAND EXISTING COMPANY if the promoter(s) are/is not a politician, fraudster, from the highly connect family?

Contributions are welcome.

Our company is a registered company with the Head Office in Abuja and our operational base and warehouse situated in the Western part of the country.

In our effort to key in to the Federal Government in guarantee food security and provide jobs for our teaming youth, we at our company has taken the bold step in coming up with idea to mitigate post harvest waste through the acquisition and maintenance of our 2000mt capacity community warehouse.

This warehouse was acquired from the Federal Government. It is situated in a community with good access roads and surrounded by houses within the town.

The location of the warehouse is in the South Western part of the country. The area is predominantly rice grower and yam/cassava farmers.
We recently constituted these farmers to cooperative for further enlightenment and proper monitoring their farm activities for communal benefits.
The company recently make payment for 2mt of dried white ginger in Southern Kaduna to be stored and held for future sales.

We also brought together our contacts persons from Osogbo, Ekiti, Lagos, Ibadan, Yola, Taraba, Markudi and Maduguri recently for sensitisation on the challenges ahead.

Prayers

1. We at our company are looking for spirited Nigerians who can assist of give the link to where we can access flexible loan to facilitate our
aggregation of grains to our warehouse within the next three months

2. The fund is to be used to aggregate such farm produce like ginger, soyabeans, beans, garlic, maize etc from the Northern part of the
country while we intend to add palm oil, kola-nut etc from the Southern part of the country

3. Approaching conventional banks is out of it in view of their high cost of capital while all government agencies saddled with such
responsibilities are not helping matter.

Our preparation

- A secured 2000mt community warehouse which can take as much as 2000mt of various imperishable farm produce is already on ground

- We already secured the network of farmers locations and their ready produce in the North and South of the country

For those unbelievers doubting the authenticity of the story, l leave not far from the church, l can testify that the story was true, an incident had earlier happened before the particular one, there is small army residence along the road to the pastor's church. Because of the unruly behaviour of the pastor and above all, using a fake army officer as his ADC, the Pastor's Driver one day misbehave to the army boys even when the fake pastor was in his jeep, they beat hell out of him, draged him to Abacha Barack from where he was able to buy his way out.

The fake Pastor is a con artist, his trick of hoodwinking his unsuspecting followers is by inviting established artist like Aki & Pawpaw, Mbu, Osuofia etc

Once again, my house is a stone throne to the man's church, alot of attrocities are going on in that church, it was as a result of the death of the deceased that he temporarily stop coming to the church to open another branch in Gwarinpa, Maitama, Legistilative Quarters and other highbrow within Abuja.

Government especially the Nigeria Police in Abacha Road knows and conniving with the man suppress any attrocity because he always have them among his convoy, gaurding him all the time.

Government need to do something to the activities of the man.

You are on point, this is the mindset l had when l registered my company in 2013 abd by this year, l was able to acquire a 2000mt community warehouse from Federal Government, but the major challenge since l acquire this warehouse is that, raising capital to commence the business has been herculeen task, getting equity investor(s) is more than difficult, grant, govt funds etc are not forthcoming.

As l write, the warehouse is lying fallow. I think for us to be self sufficient in agriculture in feeding ourselves, government need to identify those gennuie companies that are ready to contribute to the growth of the economy and empower them, BOI, BOA etc are just lieing, their facilities are not accessible.

Blackkie:
You have the most needed info about agriculture here - storage!
I think Nigeria must have surpassed food sufficiency years ago if there are standard storage infrastructure in the nation.
Nearly all farm produce are in excess during its harvest time and scarce just few weeks later. What is sold as cheap items are actually items that are not stored for the future.

I will predict that the future agro-millionaires may came from storage of farm items. Innovation is another thing we lack.
A cow is sold for about N60,000 up north but here in Lagos it goes for N130,0000.00 Anyone who will device a means of conveying butchered cows from the north to west is in money.

Egg are thrown away now for lack of buyers so also tomatoes, okro et al.

Dear All,

I have a community warehouse of 200MT for storing agricultural produce, all the money l can lay my hands on has been used to secured the warehouse, presently, l have intention of buying at least 3 - 5 toones of ginger from southern kaduna but l do not have the money to finance it. The ginger will be sold on or before the end of June 2017.

My question now is, how can l raise atleast two million naira (N2,000,000.00) only for this transaction, is it adviseable to approach the likes of LAPO Savings and Loans Limited? What are their requirements?

Waiting to hear from you NLs.

BusinessJob Creation Vs Start Up Fund, The Big Question by Praiseson(op): 9:30am On Nov 16, 2016
No doubt that for Nigeria to move forward and be self sufficient all round especially in our agriculture sector in line with the economic diversification policy of the present government, serious consideration is needed to accord job creation especially among our youth. My experience recently made me so sad and conclude that government of the day and previous ones are just playing lip service to removing us out of the economic woes we found ourselves.

To rejuvenate the economy, the Small and Medium Enterprises must be empowered, starting a business and sustaining itby way of creating a business friendly environment should be the priority of the Government. Grant/aids/business loan to start up companies should be made available.

From my experience, In 2013, having watched and studied the trend of things as regards the oil price fluntuation and world power game, l registered an agrobusiness company with one million ordinary shares of N1each. Between the period of the registration till date, l was able to perfect the company by assembling the management team. The Management team swang to action and able to give the company direction. In fact, the company started by acquiring a 2000MT community warehouse from the Federal Government of Nigeria at a price. I must add here that the warehouse was built under the Millenium Development Goal. The concept of the company is among others:
- Trading in farm produce by way of buying where there is surplus and sell to where there is insufficient
- Organise the local farmers to cluster of 10 to farmers cooperative
- Provide their farm needs like seedling, fertilizer etc to them through their membership of the cooperative
- Monitor the progress of their farm activities through our representative on grand
- Buy back 80% of their farm output at maturity
- Hold the produce in our warehouse for upward of three months and sell
- Make them part of the profit sharing of the sales etc

The purpose of acquiring the warehouse before embarking on our farming among others:

- To help in creating wealth for the local farmer by providing storage for their harvest
- Reducing post harvest waste which will invariable increase their income
- Make farming profitable
- Increase their farm production capacity
- Encourage others especially the youth to farming etc

No doubt, the source of rasing capital to start up company in Nigeria is limited, embezzled money by politicians, the connected people, few angel/venture capital (not known to majority of the populace) are readily comes to mind.

For upward of over six months now, having registered atleast 10 rice farmers and 5 yam farmers, the company is in limbo looking for investors, looking for how to raise working capital, all individuals approached so far are not helping matter. Bank conventional loan is not adviseable, conditions given by the duo of Bank of Industry and Bank of Agriculture is better imagined, grant is nowhereetc.

I know and am convinced that alot of Nigerians are facing this dilema which is why am bringing it out and asking, how can we move forward in a situation like this?, where can we raised working capital?, who and who can be approached that can listen to us?

My Nairalanders, your advise, suggestions, critisms are hereby welcome.
