I learned from the TLS website that it now takes at least a month to process applications. And thank you for letting me know that I’m not the only one who hasn’t received any updates yet.

Stanbic is a behemoth that takes time to get into traction now. With around 51% of the AUM in the industry, when they move, the market shakes. Also, there are very people who need their kind of funds at such high rates.

Thats the advantage of the smaller firms. They are nimble enough and have various opportunities to plug their small funds. Who will take 2.4 trillion from Stanbic to do what? But all this 11bn firms can always move around from one person to the other.

But please, do not put your money in a Fund simply becuase someone says its ok. Do as your spirit leads after due diligence.

By the way, NGX ASI is now 196.2k. Not a financial advice.

This is the current (daily) annualized rate. The one posted before was the year to date rate. It's the average of all daily annualized rate since jan 1.

Very clear explanation. Are these charges deducted everytime I top up my equity fund or is it a one time thing?

Honestly all these people doing equity and stocks dey try. To me there's no difference between those things and sportybet. The both have same thing in common which is tendency to loose your money. Stories I have heard about stocks no nice at all. More grease to una elbow. I no dey do pass myself that's why I stick to MMF.😊
Not for the faint hearted. Definitely not if you are hypertensive 😂

Unlike sportybet, you can still recover whatever you lost, if you wait long enough.

Thanks for the feedback because i started Stanbic equity fund last week Friday. With Tuesday profit alone it covered for the looses I recorded. Let's enjoy the ride as we look forward for massive profit today.
Frankly, if anyone has funds they dont need till December in MMF, move 90% to an equity fund. You will be better off for it.

The ASI is now over 194.6k today(will likely hit 195k) and is on course to break the 200k barrier. Tap into those gains.

Secondly, there will likely be a rate cut on tuesday by the MPC. This means MMF yields will drop further with investors moving funds to equity further driving equity yields up.

Lastly, you can catch the dividends bubble between Apr and July when most company's start paying their div. Thats an extra 6-8% yield with a timed entry.

If Trumps attack Iran, price of nigerian oil giants will go up also pulling the ASI further up. There will be other impact of course including negative ones.

Of course there will be red days, but ultimately by year end, your equity will likely be more than 15% better than MMF.

24 hours plus a few minutes. There is a countdown timer

So I decided to donate 100k to cowrywise equity on 17th February 2026. It was posted immediately and before you could say agbalumo, I already lost 612 bucks. @ 21.68% oh. So let's see how long it will take for the 100k to finish. Invest in equity with only money you can afford to lose
By the way, always expect a dip when you fund an equity fund.

1. There are charges such as brokerage fees, SEC fees, stamp duty etc that has to be paid from your deposit so it will reduce what you see.

2. Funds have two prices. A buy and sell price. Imagine you enter GTbank to deposit buy USD but to be credited to your account. You will see a sell price (lets say 1450) and a buy price of 1430. The sell price is how much they will sell 1 unit to you. So you pay them 1 unit. But when they credit the 1 unit to gour account, they will show the naira equivalent at the price they will buy from you which is 1430. You still have 1usd in your account, just that the bank will only buy at 1430.

Same thing happens with fund. They sell to you higher but display your asset value at the lower buy price. Quantity remains same. It's a paper loss until u sell.

It's going to become green today. ASI has crossed 192,900 today.

Hi there, I submitted the France Schengen visa application on 27 of January in V.I. Lagos, and it is still being processed. Has anyone who applied around that date received their visa decision? I’m a frequent traveler and an expatriate, by the way. I would really appreciate any useful information. Thank you.
Have you gotten a feedback now?

Add in consideration the penalties of 10% on your interest for redemption b4 90days.

Chances of loosing a day interest is 60% certain even if it's via cowrywise and you do all timeously.

The only way this strategy makes sense to me is if you moving minimum of 10m. If not it's just a couple of small change for plenty exercise monthly.

Better still put your cash in a more rewarding vehicle.

@Preator
Are there fund managers that do 90 days lock in for MMF? I know of 25% of earned interest if you withdraw before 30days.

Not really a wise move. Unless liquidation and reinvestment are virtually instant, the idle days between both will wipe out any marginal compounding gain. The time out of market (even just two days) per cycle creates a cumulative drag that will erode your annual returns by roughly 7% annually, other things being equal. Your friend should be careful…
On Cowrywise, u can complete this in 15 minutes. And it doesn't pass through your bank statements also

You wont believe the bad things serious investors dey do o. Maybe u sef dey do am.

See ds Sodiq guy, had around 200 in Trustbanc (via cowrywise) on Jan 1 as capital. By February 2, e don swell reach 203+, na so the guy liquidate everything to stash, 10 minutes later he don reinvest am back. Now he go collect returns on extra 3m from Feb 3. Investment na serious business.

Artificial monthly compounding.

Note: this only works if u no need the money for the next 30days. Reinvestment starts another 30days lock

Does TrustBanc or Cowrywise compound daily, monthly or quarterly? Which Mutual fund compounds daily or monthly? Also, How safe is funds invested with Trustbanc on their Prime app.
Please, help a newbie. I hope to make my first investment this week.
No MMF compounds daily in nigeria. Only stanbic compounds monthly. The rest, including cowrywise, compounds quaterly.

Safety of your fund is same accross all SEC regulated fund managers. You can chose any. I know some people will say na lie sha. That stanbic is safer because of huge holdings or fund managers with banks( like GTb) is safer. Na lie. All of them are the same. Just ensure u check that they are SEC approved.

I’m not comfortable with Cowrywise’s naira mutual fund. Every time I invest, up to 1.5% is deducted from my principal, which I find unacceptable. When I raise it, I’m told it’s due to market fluctuations at the time of purchase. However, this same deduction keeps occurring with every deposit I make.
How? I will really like to understand this. Never experienced such before also.

Always nice to learn. Will DM u, if u dnt mind

Pls guide me on how to invest in equities on cowrywise. Many thanks
I do only their managed equities. For my individually picked stocks, i use Meritrade. CSL is a good stockbroker also.

My advise, stick to managed portforlios. Unfortunately the new Cowrywise update affected equity offers also. The closest i can see is the Balanced portfolio nw.

You may want to check out other fund managers with good managed equity portfolios

For long term investment that does not mind seeing losses sometime, I think equity investment is the best.

My fund in MMF is 3x that of my equity in Cowrywise, however, I have made 3x of the profit in the latter.
If all my capital in equity will not disappear one day and overall return is significantly higher than MMF like what I am experiencing, I think I will invest more in equity then.

Everyone has their targets.
Definitely. I have a diversified holdings of stocks. But i generally dont like discussing equities here because newbies can get burnt easily thinking its always sweet. Better they focus on MMF until they get bolder.

e.g. if you bought ncr last year, you will be laughing hysterically now. The gains was mad.

So once we leave our investments like that of aggressive portfolio in Cowrywise for longer time, it's going to worthwhile right?

I am here for long term and I am not in hurry to cash out. The return I am seeing on my Trustbanc in Cowrywise is far below what I am seeing in the aggressive portfolio.
If you are in for the long time, equity is ur best bet. Far better than MMF.

My cowrywise equity has yielded almost x3 of my money market in rates this year alone.

Note: this is unrealized gain. I could log on tommorow and notice it has now become negative or yielded far lower than MMF. Not for the faint-hearted.

Fidelity shares wey i buy since last year still red till now 😢

Hmmmn, but I’m entering the Schengen Area via the Netherlands with confirmed hotel accommodation and I’m visiting my employer’s office before travelling to Prague for the kickoff, and my cover letter + supporting documents reflect this clearly.

My employer is in the Netherlands, only that the main event is in Prague/Czech.

Also, there’s no where to book for a visa to the Netherlands, I was referred to book on the France Visa Application website.

And that’s my reason for using the French embassy, I have a real reason to be in the Netherlands before going to Prague.
You are to book Netherlands visa, just that France act as their agent in nigeria.

The rule for schenghen visa is as below. Not sure if they allow exception.

1. When visiting multiple schenghen countries, apply to the main destination (i.e., country of longest stay)
2. If you are spending exact same number of days in all country, apply to country of first entry.

REMINDER!!!

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is scheduled to hold its 304th meeting on February 23–24, 2026, to review key economic developments and determine policy rates. The previous 303rd meeting, held in November 2025, resulted in retaining the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 27.0%.
Dunno why i'm always anxious of the outcome of this meeting
