Am i the only one seeing that they will implement green tax surcharge at the same time? And they were silent on the rate? |
RillJ:Its less than 40% in total, about 19% per annum straight line. Money market over the last 2 years can do that easily and it's low risk investment. Seems people do not know about all this money market and other investment opportunities wella o. Wey some people don do 60% returns YTD already |
Another red day |
Sabadon:Less than 2% of Nigerians |
Price are back to normal |
Allboiz:Na Benin u dey? Abi Ekenwa dey elsewhere? |
Allboiz:Obviously. There is a limit to how much the fund managers can claim as management fees sef. And its SEC regulated. Equity is fun if u dont expect it to rise everyday. Some of us were waiting for very red days so we can carry head enter again sef. I no too like the green ASI i am seeing. |
1kinggy:Well, it works for me cos if i need to switch my funds urgently, i won't have to start creating and verifying. Case in point: I had a trustbanc on Cowrywise before they did their merging so i am still enjoying the 19% mmf on Cowrywise. |
Skydivine:Use wakanow sharp sharp. |
@ investmentvirus This is the equity thread |
investmentvirus:Its dipping already. Topped out at 117%+. I suspect it will fall further. I am waiting for a reset b4 buying more but definitely not buying any more zedcrest till december. I suspect the IPO will be overpriced. It will take some time to find its equilibrium. I may subscribe to short term equity funds then (to take advantage of the rise in value) and exit at the first sign of it stagnating. But not buying the IPO directly. We can talk on the equity thread. |
sharone21:I have once written here before that mmf risks are largely the same across fund managers. For equity, the reverse is the case. The skills and versatility of your manager matters here. A manager that is not well diversified may rise like ijebu garri when the industry he invested in his doing well, but heaven forbid yakubu enter that industry, you can see your capital disappear. Of course if you are willing to wait, dead bones shall rise again Now to the ranking, i use CardinalStone, ARM, UCAP, Zedcrest, Stanbic, Afrinvest and Meristem. Planning on joining coronation wealth that is just launching too. 1. Meristem is my top pick 2.CardinalStone 3. Afrinvest 4. ARM 5. UCAP 6. Stanbic (my oldest equity) 7. ZEDCREST note that zedcrest has the highest return currently (112%+) but i am not assured they are well spread. I'll rather take my chances with the 60% Managers. This is my personal view and ranking based on return and my subjective view of their portfolio. I have only ever withdrawn from meristem and stanbic. Process was easy. I cant say yet for the others |
auschris:Thanks. That means the displayed percentage was correct. What we are seeing is the base effect. |
Goodenoch:Who knows zedcrest's bid and offer price on Jan 1? |
There is an unreal feeling to this Zedcrest. But make person enjoy am while it last |
CSblackpink:Maybe i'll open one of them. I current use cowrywise portfolio (afrinvest, meristem, ucap and ARM). I use meritrade for my personal stock selections. Which will you recommend? |
CSblackpink:Thats a lot. Only done 2% in NGX b4. |
CSblackpink:Whats the yield or capital outlay that yielded the 1k? Trying to compare with NGX yield |
doggedfighter:U dey see wetin i dey see 😃 😀 ? |
doggedfighter:Audentes Fortuna iuvat. They havent even started dropping the dividends. When e drop, everywhere go dey soft 😃 |
doggedfighter:No loud am.... Some people dey wait for "i told u so...." |
All this are just paper clearing. Scenario: i met a debt of 10bn USD when the rate was 400naira, Thats a 4 Trillion naira debt. If i borrow another 10bn usd (4 trillion) total debt in naira becomes 8 trillion (20bn usd). Then after a while i just float the naira to 1600. Total debt in naira 8 trillion (100% increase) Total debt in usd 5billion Usd (75% reduction) Did i clear 15bn? The fact remains that i borrowed more but took advantage of exchange rate gains for presentation purposes. I will still pay the increased 8 trillion to be able to settle just "5bn" usd |
Lanruze:He said average. The ones you've done may be higher but average covers a lot of sins |
Creditalerts:I dey sleep well oo. In fact, i now log in lesser to all my other mmf apps nw esp STL, Stanbic and First ally. Na only cowrywise equity i dey check nw and not everyday. I've seen red and i've seen green. May the green always outweigh the red days |
emmasoft:Strong words. The only idle cash you shud keep shud be those you need for expenses. Everything else must work. |
Dominzyloaded:If you know what to do, opera mini mod works freely with this details then. No data needed. Lots of tricks then |
Creditalerts:Equity is fun sha for those who have mind. Put some money there on feb 18 and it has returned x3 of what i would have gotten via MMF even with STL/trustbanc rate (on paper, as it can still crash tommorow) . Diversification and personal need is key though. Money in equities must not be what u need immediately, keep a portion of ur funds in mmf for rainy days. |
emmaBS:I've not really seen anyone call huge money here sef. All of us are in the "peanuts" category. The key bit about investing is to form the habit and cut down excesses. The amount doesnt matter as long as you invest as much as you reasonably can. |
Neurotika:My post was on the app withdrawal which is for 5m and below. For higher amounts, its usually slower |
bigdammyj:She should so that everyone will know that the narrative is not all bad. We have so many bad narrative out there. This is a nice refresh and should be applauded and publicised too |
