Hello. Your wife must be finish her program as a registered nurse in Nigeria and work for at least one year before she can migrate to USA. She can work as a nurse in the USA but the process takes about 1 to 2.5 years. My wife was also a nurse in Nigeria before we migrated to the USA. I was studying on FI and she was on F2 visa. We adjusted our status to green card holder while I am still studying. Any bonafide nurse from Nigeria can migrate and work in the USA as a registered nurse. She would need to evaluate her credential with CGFNS and take the Nclex exam. Then, look for an agency or hospital to sponsor her adjustment of status and green card. If you need more clarification, let me know.

She already graduated from school of nursing (like 3 years ago) and has her Nigerian license. She is studying for her BSc. I sent you a pm.

No. Even if he promises to fund you, it's not a guarantee of admission. Until you receive your letter of admission, you can be sure of being admitted. Your profile and documents will be perused by different people in the admissions committee and they've to be satisfactory aka meet the barest minimum of requirements.

The meeting and approval only increases your chances of being admitted, it's not a guarantee.

First, what are you aspiring to, MS or PhD? If PhD, is it direct from BS or MS? contact prospective professors or PIs (Principal Investigators) as a cold email requesting if they need graduate students by next Fall. Alternatively, you could apply directly to interdisciplinary programs depending on the graduate school's requirements. Of recent, grad programs in biology-related fields waive or outrightly cancel GRE, however, if it is optional, you might have to write it and send your scores (if you can mentally and financially) to improve your chances.

Thanks for your comment. My ultimate goal is to get a phd, however I have been thinking Phd programs would be very competitive. Therefore, I may settle for Msc. I meet the minimum for all schools I am applying to (both Msc and Phd). I am just worried about my papers not being published in journal yet (though they have been submitted) because I understand schools are more concerned with applicants' research experience now...

Also, do you have a script for appealing for application fee waiver?

Hello famz! I intend to apply for graduate programs in neuroscience/molecular biology/physiology in the US, 2 of my papers are under review and may not be published by december when application ends for most schools. Other two are still in the works. My profile is 3.3/4 (WES). Is that good for my profile? I have been thinking it's not as good as getting them published but I don't really have any control over it. What do you think?
