Business › Re: Skills Every New Graduate Should Learn by preciousnobel(m): 4:18pm On Dec 31, 2017 |
mrphysics: It is no longer news that there is no job in Nigeria. Everyday, we wake up to hear how some companies are downsizing their staffs, and it becomes expedient to consider other ways of not depending on this economy. While I was an undergraduate, I normally hear that some persons are happy when the price of dollar is on the increase, I just came to see the reason and permit me to say that, I enjoy it when i can exchange dollar for a high naira value. In this little post, i will talk about the things every graduate should consider doing instead of looking for work that is not available.
Freelance writing A lot have been said on this topic and nothing can explain it enough. This is basically something that can bring up to six digit income into your account. You can either visit fiverr, upwork, or iwriter.com and register. You need no skill to do this work and it is paying well. I have written for someone who collects $100 for 3000 words article on fiverr. That guy makes more than a million every month. so instead of looking for secondary schools where you can teach and collect N3000/month, try to develop yourself in this area. The truth is that the cyber space can accommodate all of us, as many as are lady to make money legitimately online. Are you waiting for service, or did you just finished serving? then stop looking for work, get your laptop, there are lots of work to do.
The fact that you need no income to start this business makes it more interesting. You don't need an office, you don't need to pay for someone to prepare a nice CV for you, and you don't need to stand before those wicked HR managers to ask you questions they can't even answer just to get a job. All you need is a laptop and an mb and your office is already online. But if you are used to submitting your CV online and waiting to be a victim of GNLD and other companies, then we will be waiting to hear your experience someday
Graphic Design Have you noticed that they is a wedding every weekend, seminars and church programs are done on daily basis. Some companies need logos, letter heads, banners and the rest. These are done by graphics designers. If this recession is to continue, i bet you, graphics designers will never go hungry. So instead of going around asking gate men of different companies if those companies have started collecting CVs, sit yourself down, download U-tube videos and get yourself ready to make money. Graphics designer will continue paying till the end of the world, and happy are those who are constantly being blessed through graphics. I am a photoshoper though this days, i do a lot of freelance writing, but whichever work comes through, I will do it and get the money. As a graduate, acquiring skills would be the best thing you need. That laptop you used during your project, it is not time to use it to make money. Whether you came out with first class or second calss upper, lower or even second class deeper, this work is for you. And i guarantee you enough money through it.
Affiliate Marketing Well, you can contact importexpert to give you a clue on this. Trust me when i tell you that it gives money. Affiliate marketing is nothing than helping to create awareness for a product and earning money when that product is bought through you. If you plan or learn this very well, you will position yourself in a way that you don't need to work to make money. you can get the affiliate jagaban from importexpert and read your way out of recession. Instead of learning tailoring, bead making, or cake that almost everyone can now do, spend your time learning how to do affiliate marketing and get paid for life.
SEO SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. So many bloggers wants to get their sites to rank among the top 20 in the world, if you can sit down and learn this skill, i bet you, you will always be smiling as dollar goes up. I have a secondary school class mate who caught the vision before me, and now, that guy is making lots of money. The other day, he told me that he made N72000 in two days and even boasted to me on how he rejected konga offer of 150000/month and a comfortable accommodation. The boy is on money and this is someone who just finished serving last year, he is now a millionaire. Check it out, ask for questions and learn this. You don't need to be a computer science graduate to do this work, that my friend is a geologist and he can pay more than 10 computer science graduate. What are you waiting for, the time is now and you should start doing something
Traffic Well, so many people do not know about this, but it is a way which so may Nigerians are making money on daily basis. Some persons can push traffic to your site, help you get adsense approval. Though some have posits that these traffic is fake, well, i do not know, all i know is that if you are into that business then you will be making money. Some clients don't care, all they need is to see that about 50000 persons visited their site. Do you know someone who is into it? if you do, then the Lord is calling you now, do not waste that time again.
Digital Email Marketing If you are observant enough you would notice that email format have changed. I learnt this email marketing through a friend using mail chimp, and it has been rewarding to say the least. So many banks employ the use of digital email marketing in designing their email formats, YALI network even use it. In foreign country, this email format is used everywhere and very soon, Nigerians will catch the vision. If i were you, i will start looking for a way to learn this skill and start selling yourself. There are a lot of space for all of us. stop depending on Nigerian economy. stop wasting that time on Instagram, twitter and Facebook doing nothing meaningful. learn this skills and you will be glad you did.
Summary Very soon, HR managers will start looking for skills such as freelancers, SEO, Affiliate Marketers, digital email marketers etc. This is the way the world is moving, update yourself. let us fill the cyber space. Happy Sunday [dedicated to POCOHANTAS].

Debra911: Dear, pls don't give up on ur passion, keep striving, its not a matter of aw far but how well. Most medical students u see today didn't just get there as easy as u think, they av their stories to tell, many paid lots of sacrifices to get there, they did this, not because they don't av many other options or know abt more profitable jobs(like ppl working in shell or big oil companies...) to switch to rather than wasting money rewriting jamb,
No, they kept on striving because of the passion they have for the profession and the desire to be fulfilled. The truth is if u don't av PASSION for this course called medicine, u might regret going into it and want to give up along the way, by wishing u were in botany. So if it's truly wat u want, pls kip striving and nva give up, nothing good comes easy.
About the course botany, u can take it to get much experience dat will help u in writing the next jamb pretty well, u might get a better score dat will help u tru next year, nva be distracted with campus life and advice from roommates, even if u fall, pls do rise again for wat u love never give up. Don't be distracted by wat you hear, u should know this s ur life, if u rise, u rise alone and if u fall, u fall alone, none will help, we've got one life to live not two. I have my own stories to tell and I'm glad today dat I nva gave up. I don't know aw to get it to FP, but u can read it on ds blog, www.marastrove.com. Tnx to d owner of d blog.
The idea of switching from botany to medsurg in 2nd s nva an easy thing, even wen ur gp s high, I can't give advice on that cos it hardly work for students who go tru dat means.
Wish you the best in all your endeavors!!! ' Read your story... What are you doing with a degree in medical physiology now? |

Education › Re: Redeemers University Commissions Centre For Genomics And Infectious Diseases by preciousnobel(m): 8:33am On Dec 16, 2017 |
Statsocial: See ehn Nigeria does not need more free universities but functional ones. If you can't afford private go federal.
You see what many don't understand is many of these churches also look left and right before they cross. When CGM was headed by Idahosa the church was on smooth sail. Idahosa built a private university even before govt gave a go ahead. Then Idahosa went home to be with the lord and with all due respect things didn't go as planned for the ministry like that. Oyedepo and Oyakhilomhe played an important role in letting that university stand because Idahosa was a mentor to them.. For years Oyedepo paid salaries of the university by himself before it could stand while Oyakhilomhe built the Engineering Building at 1 billion.
You see I don't like saying this but not all ministries retain vibrancy after the home call of their founders like Hagin ministry, Oral Roberts Ministry, CGM - imagine any of them built university funded by church income. What would have happened to those Unis? I sincerely pray and believe that RCCG and LFC would retain vibrancy but precedence has proven that it is better to not tie a university to the apron of a Church.
Universities need stability and can't deal with the unpredictability of Churches. And unfortunately too many things are tied to the stability of a Church. Our wage bill in the university can't be 400 million per month and church says it only made Tithe of 200 million. Shall the University collect all the 200 million or are we to share it 50-50 and end up paying 30% of salary. If you try to collect two offerings it is then you would know that your fellow christians are smart. They would simply divide what they intended to give initially into the two offering bag or return your envelopes null and void of content. Which lecturer would wait in that kind of system that doesn't engender growth?
Members gather as easily as they scatter and they would leave you with all your 'problems'. People are not drawn to RCCG or Winners. Don't ever make that mistake. They are drawn by the anointing of the leaders.
As some ministries are expanding some are shrinking. If a Church that has so much vibrancy now and chooses to fund her university (if it could) looses vibrancy and is struggling to pay its own pastoral salaries then the university is dead!
See ehn Ia typical wage bill for a Nigerian university is about 400 million/month how many churches would be able to afford this? Does any of them have facilities for neuroscience? |

MasterRahl: SwayG, We all have different destinies. Everyone is advising you to go for professional courses like medicine, radiology etc so you can have a job. The word JOB irks me.
If you know your self-worth, you'll know what to do with all those courses listed there. I studied physiology bro. I've been admitted to do MSc.
I'm a freelancer (on fiverr) running a gig on medical research. Bro, its when I started that gig that I knew there are potentials in every course you study. I can't even sleep at night cos of the orders I get from medical students in the US & other countries.
I write health books and publish them on amazon kindle and CreateSpace.
I run a health blog.
This JOB mentality is what is pushing so many students into making decisions that they live to regret. Before you jump into MBBS (which is not bad in itself), I suggest you have a chat with med students and doctors to find out if they actually enjoy or derive satisfaction from what they do.
No abuses please. Its my opinion.
PEACE!!! Hello, I pmed you. Kindly reply |

Assuming we can establish its veracity, it does sound like progress is being made. As I have maintained previously, it is important for government to acknowledge the importance of sorting out tertiary education. I get that impression from the above report, and will personally have no qualms voting to suspend the strike.
