With uncertainty over the fitness of Katsina United's Ikechukwu Ezenwa, South African-based Daniel Akpeyi has been selected to be in between the pipes ahead of Francis Uzoho.

Chelsea's Kenneth Omeruo and Brighton's Leon Balogun start in central defense with Ola Aina and Jamilu Collins occupying the fullback positions.

Rohr has opted to play three midfielders with Obi Mikel, Oghenekaro Etebo and Alex Iwobi getting the nod.

FC Midtjylland's Paul Onuachu starts his second successive game for the Super Eagles and the lanky striker will be flanked by Samuel Chukwueze and Samuel Kalu.

It has been confirmed that Kelechi Iheanacho will not make the squad to the 2019 AFCON because of his ineptitude. Hmmm!!!! Kelechi Iheanacho of all people. Lets see what he will do today

Nigeria begin their preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, with an international friendly game with Zimbabwe.

The Super Eagles make a return to the continental showpiece, after missing the last two editions.

For the visitors, they are making only their fourth AFCON appearance.

Nigeria head coach, Gernot Rohr, has already hinted that players in the squad who didn’t get much game time at their clubs, will feature.

The match is scheduled to kickoff at 17:00 pm (West African Time) on Saturday, June 8 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta state.

Gates open at midday, when fan would have a chance to buy tickets.

For fans watching at home, SuperSport 7 will air the game live.
