KnowAll: USA chose not look after their poor hence why they embarked on endless meaningless war. Obviously they know the poor are the blacks rather than the than look after their poor they embark on endless war jamboree.
The so called democratic countries are really not doing well. China is number 2 country in the world out of every 3 electrical cars sold 2 is from china not bad from a benovalent Dictator.
The so called UK,Japan and South Korea are all on a downward trend. China's poor are still more than America's poor even percentage wise. America has shown that democracy is still better than autocracy or whatever. And Japan and UK and Korea are not on any downward slide. They're still doing well, better than the likes of china. |
Politics › Re: Lee Kwang Yew??? Something I Just Discovered ??? by Predictor3: 2:53pm On Jun 03 |
KnowAll: Scary to think that all the leaders mentioned has been some sort of benevolent dictator. Forget to even mention China. Has democracy failed 😳 You have to look at the world's number one democracy, America, to know that democracy has not failed and is the best form of government. I disagree completely with the OP. Why didn't Nigeria develop when we had military rule? Why didn't Equatorial guinea develop? Why is Japan and Korea with democracy doing well? What about Britain, Germany, etc? Obafemi Awolowo was premier of the western region for just three years. No leader in Africa has rivaled his achievement till now. Give the typical Nigerian leaders 100 years, they'll still fail. |

One man is forced to wait for the last man to complete his house before building his upon it. It also means the foundation hass to reach the middle of the earth in order to support endless height of fool.
Very foolish idea. This is why God gave us Igbo Hausa and Yoruba. So we can disagree and stop such error and wastage. You shouldn't condemn everything. That singular project stopped the taking over of Victoria island by the ocean surge. Don't let hatred kill you. |

Nigeria truly missed it in 2023. By now, nobody would be talking about Tinubu’s mandate of hardship and death that has engulfed the entire country in barely two years of his regime. Obviously this man will do better than Tinubu in terms of welfare of the citizens. Even Atiku will do a better job than Tinubu because he knows that the suffering in the north is even worse than in the South. But that is not to say all of them are not the same. But Tinubu seems to be more disconnected from reality than the others |

brain54: If after everything I took my time to explain in my other post...
You still simplify it and still focused on the hunger part then perhaps you are the one clasping at straws.
Normally even the first post was enough for a discerning mind to understand.
Fortunately I am not obligated to make sense to everyone. Especially one that might be deliberately refusing pick up the nuance of the argument. Or too slow to understand.
Good day too! There's no nuance anywhere, mister. You are criticizing blindly like the average human being. You got caught out and started turning and twisting. I don't expect you to own up to your obvious bias, at the same time don't expect everyone to foolishly swallow it hook line and sinker. Do you now admit that the reason lecturers' strikes are no longer prevalent is beyond hunger and poor lecturers welfare? Our lecturers put themselves above others. If they feel a threat to their livelihood, they'll fight, unless you are too young to know that |
Politics › Re: One Achievement Of Tinubu. (photo) by Predictor3: 6:47am On May 21 |
brain54: Calling what I said “rubbish” is overreaction...
And overly simplistic.
First of all “lecturers are not striking because they are not hungry” is not meant to be a literal hunger claim.
It’s shorthand for economic pressure and welfare dissatisfaction not whether they have food on the table that morning.
Strikes in universities are rarely about immediate starvation but about relative deprivation, salary erosion, unpaid entitlements, funding of institutions, and working conditions.
Yes lecturers are formally employed. Yes, they receive salaries. But that doesn’t automatically mean their compensation is competitive or sustainable especially in an environment where salaries lose value due to inflation, allowances and agreements are delayed or not implemented or infrastructure/work conditions deteriorate.
Access to grants or occasional travel is not a substitute for systemic welfare.
That’s like saying a hospital nurse is “fine” because they once attended a foreign conference.
Secondly, your framing misses how strikes actually work. People don’t “down tools” only when they are desperate. They strike when negotiation breaks down, leverage is available and collective action is the only remaining pressure tool.
ASUU strikes historically have been about agreements not implemented over years not sudden hunger.
If you want to criticize meaningfully then critique the actual issues which are inflation, erosion of salaries and institutional decay.
Don't simplify my comment into hungry or not hungry ! Now you are grasping at straws. There was no ambiguity whatsoever about what you said. "Lecturers are hungry and that's why they're not protesting. " Wasn't hunger one of the factors that pushed them to strikes in the past? If they're not striking now like they did regularly in the past, a more discerning mind would put that beyond hunger. Good day to you. |
