some politicians/Leaders who are secretly in
support of Boko Haram, He also Said That
the terrorist group ain’t doing all this all
alone because if they do, They would be no
more that name called Boko Haram..
The Nigeria’s Nobel prize winner, Professor
Wole Soyinka, also said that the lust for
power drove some certain politicians in
Nigeria to support the activities of the Boko
Haram sector.
In an interview on television network,
Channel 4, Soyinka said that these set of
politicians were ready to sacrifice anything
in their pursuit for power.
“This is what is happening right now: in
Nigeria, and I think that many people are
admitting it today, there were politicians who
actually supported what Boko Haram was
doing.
“They supported them for various reasons
because in their lust for power and pursuit for
power, they were ready to sacrifice anything or
to ally with anything, and of course they found
that they have been turned against (by) the
very forces that helped them.
“This is how Boko Haram really acquired its
power, its nuisance value, and its effect on the
society, because it had backing from even
what we call mainstream Islam.
“That is not the situation today: most people
are beginning to realise that we are dealing
with a party of death, their ideology is death
and there is only one way to deal with people
like that. If you say you disagree with their
ideology, you ensure you hit them before they
hit you,” Soyinka explained.

(CML) and Niger Delta People’s Democratic

battle with the federal government and

Kanu is not released.
According to Sun Newspaper, the leaders of
the two groups, General Ben Of (CML) Group
and Precious Iyoyo (aka General playboy)
angered by reports that there were plans by
the federal government to use witnesses in
mask to testify against Nnamdi kanu in court
warned that they are ready to draw the
battle line against the Nigeria President
Muhammadu Buhari who led government for
its determination to bring problem and

particularly in the south-south and south-
east zones, by stubbornly refusing to release
Nnamdi Kanu.
General Ben of { CML } group noted that the
31 day-ultimatum given to the federal
government to release the IPOB leader
{ Nnamdi Kanu } expires tomorrow, Monday,
February 22nd 2016, noting that failure to
comply with the deadline would results in
attacks on targets in Abia and Anambra
states, as well as Abuja.
He said: “ We are totall. ready and prepare to
fight against Federal Government of Nigeria,
which said we would be treated as criminals
and saboteurs. The 31-day ultimatum will
expire on Monday. We are ready and will
attack them in Abia, Anambra and Abuja,
where they shed the blood of Biafran brothers
and sisters.
“We are not going to attack the civilians ; but
we are going to attack the presence of the
Federal Government in the areas. If President
Buhari could not clear Boko Haram in six
months, as he told Nigerians, why didn’t he
focus attention on the North? Why did he
waste the blood of Biafrans people?”
“We are in solidarity and total support with the
Biafran struggle and there is no going back.
We are taking our revenge. We are not going
to spare them. We don’t believe in much talk.
Enough is enough,” he said.
On his part, General Playboy warned that
any attempt to use masked witnesses to
testify against Kanu will be met with serious
consequences.
“If they (UN) don’t intervene in this matter,
and Nigerian government goes ahead to
execute its plans to annihilate Biafrans, we will
cripple the economy of this country. All eyes
are on government not only Kanu but on
Tompolo too. The government is treading on
very rough and dangerous path, ” he
threatened.
Meanwhile, a lawmaker representing Onitsha
North constituency in Anambra state House
of Assembly, Hon. Chugbo Enwezor, is
instigating bereaved families of members of
the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) that
were killed by Nigerian security operatives
during protests in some states.
According to a post published on Euphemia
Udanoh on February 18, Enwezor, who is the
chairman of the house committee on
judiciary and legal matters, said the
leadership of IPOB has the legal rights to
sue the Federal Government for murder and
claim damages.

In Nigeria, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele
Fayose, has described attempt by the
Nigeria Federal Government to secretly try
the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of
Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, by using mask-
wearing prosecution witnesses as a mockery
of democracy, saying Nigerians must
force President Muhammadu Buhari
{ Nigeria } to purge himself of the blood and
water of dictatorship flowing in his veins
down to his heart.

In a release issued on Saturday by his
Special Assistant on Public Communications
and New Media, Mrs Lere Olayinka, In ekiti
State Governor Fayose said that “it is
shameful and insultive that the Federal
Government could approachthe court for
witnesses in a criminal matter it is
prosecuting to wear mask and be seen
through screen and live.”
He said even the prosecuting counsel, who
filed the application should be ashamed of
themselves for making themselves available
to be used as tools to subvert democracy
from Nigeria.
“They want Kanu tried secretly. They also
want the former National Security Adviser
(NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) tried secretly.
What are they afraid of?
Still On speech: How can the Federal
Government asked the court to allow ‘ojuju
calabar’ (masquerade) as prosecution
witnesses when we are not under military
rule?
“How would such witnesses be cross-
examined by defence lawyers and can their
real identity be ascertained?
“Should anyone make allegations that he
cannot be bold enough to defend in the law
court? Why are the witnesses afraid to
testify in an open court if truly they are
witnesses of truth?
“Clearly, this is mockery of democracy and
the rule of law and Nigerians should know
that it is their duty to purge President Buhari
of dictatorship,” Governor Fayose said.
While hailing the judiciary for once again
rising in the defence of democracy by saying
no to the anti-democratic plot of using
masquerade as witnesses, Governor Fayose
said; “As it is now, only the judiciary can
save Nigeria from the full-blown dictatorship
that this Buhari-led APC governmenthas
become.
“Interestingly, they are not even sparing the
bench from their regime of blackmail and
dictatorship, and it has become necessary
for our men of the bench to continue to
stand firm against enemies of democracy
and rule of law.”

A Great Storm Called Cyclone Winston Hit
Fiji which has made the
landfall on the Pacific nation’s main island,
Viti
Levu.
Cyclone Winston brought winds of over 321
kph
(201 mph), torrential rain and waves of up to
12m (40ft) , This has been a great
tremendous situation….
This event is very powerful to the extent
that Flights have been cancelled, evacuation
centres
activated and a nationwide curfew put in
place.
The category five storm – the highest level
– is
expected to move westwards over the main
island overnight Saturday and over Sunday
morning.
Before it landed, The Prime Minister Frank
Bainimarama warned that Fiji was facing “an
ordeal of the most grievous and tremendous
kind of event”.
“We must stick together as a people and
look
after each other. Be alert and be prepared,”
he
said.
Cyclone Winston has already brushed some
of
Fiji’s smaller islands, but the extent of the
damage is unclear.
Assessment teams are being sent to the
affected areas, the Fiji Times reported.
The Fijian capital Suva is likely to be spared
the
full forces of the storm but tourist resorts
are
close to the cyclone’s centre.
About 900,000+ people live on Fiji.

{ EFCC } , Honorable Ibrahim Magu has

The lawyers visited the EFCC boss to
express their support for the fight against
corruption.
Lately, the EFCC has lambasted lawyers and
judges in the country, accusing them of
helping looters of the nation’s treasury to
escape justice and share in the proceeds of
corruption.
Mr. Magu praised the visiting lawyers for the
support, and expressed regret that some
unpatriotic Nigerians including senior
lawyers have joined forces “with fraudsters
and those who looted our commonwealth by
becoming coaches and technical advisers on
how to escape justice”.
He admonished lawyers to allow the interest
of Nigeria and good conscience to guide
them when accepting briefs.

was found floating on Otuoke river, two days
after his abduction/Disappearance.

Unknown gunmen on Tuesday abducted 72-year-old Inegite Jonathan, an uncle and foster father to former President Goodluck Jonathan. Chief Jonathan was kidnapped two years ago on Feb. 28, 2014

Kidnappers stormed his home in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa on Tuesday night at about 10 p.m. at his residence a.

It will be recalled that during his kidnap in February 2014 was freed by security forces at Akipli Community in Ogbia.

Bayelsa Police Public Relations Officer, Asini Butswat, (DSP) confirmed the incident and said that the Police was trailing the kidnappers.

Mr Oru Solomon, a relation of the victim, who also confirmed the development to the media appealed to the kidnappers to free the old man, given his old age.

President Muhammadu Buhari has wondered why
he came into government at this period of
economic challenges but expressed optimism in
the success of the administration with God’s

The Movement for the Actualisation of the
Sovereign State of Biafra, on Thursday vowed to
make Nigeria ‘ungovernable’; if the Federal
Government fails to conduct a referendum in the
South-Eastern part of the country.
MASSOB and other pro-Biafran groups, including
the Indigenous People of Biafra, are demanding a
referendum in the region to enable the people to
decide, through voting, whether they wish to
secede or remain in Nigeria.
The Biafran activists claim that majority of
people in the region would vote in favour of a
separation from Nigeria.
MASSOB said it had concluded plans with other
pro-Biafran groups to disrupt governance in the
country, if the Federal Government would not
conduct the referendum.
MASSOB National Director of Information, Samuel
Edeson, who signed the statement, said the
agitators would fight the Federal Government
with ‘everything’ at their disposal.
He said the group intended to instigate civil
disobedience and ‘sit at home’ strikes,
particularly in the South-East and Lagos.
Edeson said, “MASSOB and other pro-Biafran
agitators will make Nigeria ungovernable if the
Nigerian government failed to conduct a
referendum in the eastern part of Nigeria.
“We shall use everything at our disposal to fight
the Nigerian government, especially through civil
disobedience.
“We are going to call for ‘sit at home’ in all
Biafran land and Lagos.”

Boko Haram fighters planning to launch fresh
attack in Maiduguri
– Insurgents regrouping at Yale village
Following its recent attack on Dalori village of
Konduga local government area in Borno state,
Boko Haram fighters are reportedly regrouping to
launch another attack.
Boko Haram militants have continued to
launch pockets of attacks on soft target even
after loosing vast territory to the Nigerian
army.
According to Daily Post, the plot of a fresh
attack was disclosed by the state chairman of
the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno
state, Ali Bukar Dalori.
Dalori who was in Dalori village of Konduga local
government on Thursday, February 4 to ascertain
the extent of damage to the community in the
last Boko Haram attack said the insurgents were
regrouping at Yale village for a renewed attack.
He said: “I wish we could go round and see the
extent of destruction but according to what we got
from the Theatre Commander, Boko Haram are
regrouping in Yale, so we should leave
immediately.”

Meanwhile, the general officer (GOC)
commanding 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Brigadier
General Msa Aliyu has said the ongoing offensive
against Boko Haram insurgents is been delayed
in part because the insurgents are hiding among
innocent people.
General Aliyu added with no defined territory in
the counter terrorism war, the army was being
careful so as not to hurt innocent Nigerian
citizens who they are fighting to defend.

suffer from
an
extremely
rare disease;
– The disease casuses swollen faces, wrinkled
skin, pain in joints and make them look like
pensioners
– Their parents dream of a cure, but doctors
say there is no treatment.
Keshav Kumar, 18 months, and his sister Anjali
Kumari, 7, were born with a rare
genetic disorder called cutis laxa and a form of
progeria, that make them age rapidly and look
10 times their age.

The children have loose, wrinkled skin, swollen
faces, they suffer from pain in their joints, have
breathing issues and are prone to various
infections.

In most cases, cutis laxa is inherited, but their
father Shatrughan Rajak, 40, and mother Rinki
Devi, 35, and oldest sister Shilpi, 11, do not
suffer from the disease.
Tiny Keshav Kumar, just 18 months old,
grabs a handful of the sagging skin on his
stomach in his little fist.
Even though local doctors claim there is no cure
for the disorder Keshav and Alhaji’s parents
hope that one day their children will be able to
live a normal life.

Little Anjali said: “I know I’m different from
others my age. I have a different kind of face, a
different body, different everything. I have a
swollen face while the rest of the world looks
normal. People always stare at me and pass bad
comments.

The children in school call me names like daadi
Amma (grandmother), budhiya (old lady),
bandariya (monkey), or hanuman (a Hindu monkey
lord) and it annoys me. I want to be treated like a
normal kid and I want to be accepted for who I
am.

I really wish I could look as pretty as my sister.
My parents hope that I will be okay one day but it
makes me feel sad that my family suffer and feel
embarrassed because of me. My only wish is for a
cure. I want to live a long pain free life.”
Doctors believe that the children suffer from
a rare disorder called Progeria, which is
extremely unusual and also untreatable
Their desparate father Shatrughan said: “We
dream there is a cure for my children. People in
our community call them ‘old’ and it’s
heartbreaking. We’ve tried to get help from our
local doctors but they have told us our only hope
is from overseas.

I just hope someone can give us some answers. I
am helpless. I feel very sad that I do not know
what to do to help my children. I see them than
me and there is nothing I can do about it. It
breaks my heart. I am praying for a miracle.”
Anjali already experiences ailments usually
suffered by pensioners.
The siblings more or less stable now but if the
disease progresses it can also affect the
internal organs. Their lungs, heart, intestines, or
arteries may be affected with a variety of
severe impairments; they could face heart
attack, chest infections, arthritis and so on.

At the inception of his administration, Governor
Akinwunmi Ambode was roundly criticized as
lacking the capacity to administer Lagos. The
criticism of the governor was so stringent that
his administration had to come in the defense
of his policies.

But the criticism became intense and scathing
when the state came under the violent grip of
violent armed robbery and carjacking. On a daily
basis, there were reports of armed gangs
attacking innocent residents. Motorists were
also daily mugged and their belongings
snatched from them.
In a publication that was widely debated, the
influential London magazine The Economist,
known for its hard-hitting analyses on issues of
global importance, had blamed Ambode, for the
worsening traffic and escalating crime in the
city describing him as “less competent”, “weak”
and “full of excuses.”
In its 2015 November edition, the magazine,
which described Lagos as being “ among the
most notoriously congested places in the world”
blamed Mr. Ambode for managing to roll back
some of the successes scored by his
predecessor, Babatunde Fashola, in managing
the ordinarily chaotic traffic in the metropolis.
“Yet the gridlock that Lagosians have suffered in
recent weeks is noteworthy even by the city’s
horrendous standards. Rush hours have
lengthened, and vehicles back up at unusual
hours along the bridges linking the mainland with
an island business district. Safety concerns are
mounting as armed robbers pillage stuck cars
while police are far away. Security experts reckon
this is symptomatic of a broader increase in
organised crime under a new and less competent
state government,” the magazine had observed.
The Economist had also remarked that:
“The state’s former governor, Babatunde Fashola,
who left office after elections in March, was
lauded for improving traffic and security. He
curbed dangerous motorbike taxis and brought
local “area boys” (street children), under
control.Cars were terrified into order by a state
traffic agency, Lagos State Traffic Management
Agency whose bribe-hungry officers flagged down
offending drivers,” The Economist further stated
that instead of tackling the problem head on, Mr
Ambode has been blaming the rain and a gang up
by officials of LASTMA for the worsening traffic”.

But that was three months ago. After the lull
that heralded his first six months, it seemed the
governor, who was accused to be a party freak
has found his rhythm. Is it the criticism that
spurred him on? The governor now seems to be
firing on all cylinders.

He has strengthened the security apparatus of
the state by providing equipment for the police.
He recently began an operation light up Lagos.
The roads are being rehabilitated. Lagosians are
commending the governor for having risen to
the challenges of the initial inertia.
