Luckymama: In response to question 4, I seem to have read somewhere that underaged students need a named guardian where they will be schooling. I think you can come in here as a guardian. @preshy2004 I think is currently processing a visa for her 16 year old. Perhaps she can also weigh in. He will need to fill a custodian form for the younger brother. And must be notarized in Canada by the custodian and also in Nigeria by the parents. |

[quote author=JustMellow post=93166758]Hello Preshy2004,
You can go ahead with the upfront medicals. Just endeavour to book an appoint with either IOM or Qlife before embarking for the biometrics. For the booking use the search column in here to navigate your way to the right page where the information lies therein.
All the best
Thank you so much I highly appreciate |

Hello, great ones. Pls I want to find out if one can do medical without request from ircc. Because I will be going for biometric on the 1st and am going from Phc. I don't want to fly twice that is going for biometric and later going for medicals later. My boy submitted application on the 25th of june. He has gotten biometric message but no AIP and medical request yet. I don't want a situation whereby when asked for medical one has to fly down to Lagos again for the medical. So I am thinking if it is possible to do the medical at once and send it through a web form or what is the best way. Because I am optimistic that by God's grace he will be given an approval. Pls I need your advice Thank you |

JustMellow: Hello Preshy2004,
For point one, it isn't necessary and it isn't a bad idea either. Yes, include it. When it comes to source of funds and home ties, it is well-advised to always include the appropriate documents.
Thus, as a worker, the employment letter should be included even if the introduction letter is available except on the obvious.
Given there is an affidavit to such effect of name discrepancies, it should work magic with a follow-up explanation in brief. Thank you I appreciate All the best |

His employment letter has a different surname because he did a change of name in 2008. Pls how do we go about that? Thank you so much |

Frankrobbn1: Secondary schools also give transcript. He should go to his school they will give him.
It's been a while I visited this thread. So, I am reading from where I stopped previously. @CampusCastle, be properly guided that the secondary school academic transcript the school in Canada is referring to is the online WAEC results print out as well as the scratch card and not the grades you had in classes while you were in highschool. Upon successful review of your documents, the school will request for a copy of your ORIGINAL WAEC certificate to complete your application. Afterwards, you will be granted an admission.
Try this and thank me later. |

JustMellow: Hello Preshy2004,
Considering is age coupled with the reason to help him settle due to his inexperience as a teenager, you can put in a family application ONLY if there is sufficient funds to show. Its best you apply for a visit visa. This normal has been a practice for parents, especially mothers whose teenage child is resuming classes as an UG, even the whites practice this too.
All the best. ok Thank you |

NwanyiOkpa: prince Edward island would give him easy route to PR because schooling at PEI would qualify him for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot. Dalhouise university also qualifies him for that program since it lies in Nova Scotia (which is also Atlantic Canada). Carleton university is more prestigious than the two universities (please confirm this online) but unfortunately, carleton university does not lie in the Atlantic region and hence would not qualify him for the pilot program. There are other provinces in Atlantic Canada such as Newofundland (Memorial University of Newfoundland is one of the schools here.)
Lookup: Atlantic Immigration Program and the provinces.
PS: I am not saying that if he schools in carleton he would not be qualified for PR but from my studies, some people that graduate outside the Atlantic Canada later move to the Atlantic region to live and work for some months/years before applying for the Atlantic immigration pilot.
one of the criteria that qualifies you to apply for the Atlantic Immigration pilot is that you must have stayed in the region for up to 2 years. Hence, schooling in that region automatically qualifies him for that.
Goodluck and please read more about what I have advised confirming for yourself.
Cheers and Congrats to your son.
Lest I forget; Apply for him first so that you can serve as home tie and since you have a job already and would be his sponsor. Thank you so much I highly appreciate. |

NwanyiOkpa: well, study the time frame it would take him to get approval for his study permit and also the time it would take you to get yours. I believe it would guide you to determine whose visa to apply for first. don't worry so much. He is 18 and should be fine. Thank you I highly appreciate . he is still my baby boy o. Did i say 18 he will be 17 on July so you can see why I need to go with him to settle down. |

Wunaarroon69: There’s still enough time for him to apply for visa, get approval and then you can apply for visit visa. Visit visa is not an issue at all especially if your son has been granted visa to study.
Don’t worry yourself ma you all will get visa and leave come September. God is in control Amen thank you I appreciate |
