But the basis for the existence of such a state of being like purgatory exists. Like the one I just explained to you about Lazarus and the rich man.

Then check the book of 1 John 5:17

It speaks of sins that are deadly and sins that do not lead to death.

Why categorise sins if they'll all be punished same way?

So obviously deadly sins aka mortal sins lead to hell, while those that are not deadly do not lead to hell. Yet if someone dies with the non deadly sin on his soul, he can't see God because nothing unclean can see God. Yet the sin he died with is not deadly.

In the book of Maccabees, a book removed by Martin Luther from the bible because it didn't support his views on Judgement and eternal life, you find Jews praying for the souls of the dead, which is a common practice then in the Jewish religion. Why pray for the dead if they are in heaven or in hell?

They won't go to hell because their sins aren't mortal, that is, death-dealing to their soul, yet they can't enter heaven to behold the face of God because only those without blemish can see him.

So, in this situation, the souls that die without mortal sins, but aren't yet perfect will subsist in a state of existence where they are purged of their remaining sins.

Well, the Catholic Church says that the souls of all good people who died before the Sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross were in a state of Limbo, waiting the coming of the messiah.

Well, my point is that, if there is another state of existence apart from the 3 we know, this material world of time and space, hell and heaven, then there must be some others that we don't even know about...including purgatory.
