You are most absolutely right. Social media can either help you make money or help you waste the little time you have. There was a time I was so keen on building my twitter followers. Not because I wanted to make money through it but just to have followers so as to get likes and comments on my tweets. When I finally figured out the damage I had been doing to myself, by spending so much time there, I took to my heels. I lost connection with the real world. I would rather spend all my time indoors and chat, than visit friends, go to events or meet new people. I almost became a shadow of myself, because, I was not living up to expectations of Instagram and Twitter lives. But thankfully, I am better today. I can spend a whole week without going on twitter or Instagram. I go to twitter once in few days and Instagram too.. I am working towards building a better connection outside and also use my LinkedIn account to the fullest.. I am spending more time trying to build a better career now. Play time is over. |
