WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE OF FAIRHEART
This issue is very simple. Justwise, we are both adults. It would be foolish for me to deny my reality. The issue of charging people a fee is not an allegation (except I have never done it), because I do charge. Yes! But I HAVE NEVER asked anyone here to PM me for assistance, so that they would be charged. I always tell them that EXCEPT it is personal or they cannot share publicly, they should not contact me. You can find my post here! You are a moderator here and I believe you can check all my posts. I have NEVER asked anyone to PM me so that I'd charge them. People chose to come to my DM after they see numerous mentions from those who have been assisted one way or the other.

A lot of you on here are heinous and bitter.

1. Fairheart clearly stated that if you reach out to him personally you can be charged.

2. At least 200 persons reach out to Fairheart every admission season to help with mock interview. How do you expect a grown man to waste his time helping people for free? If he had a job, do you know how much he’d make during these times? And about 80% of the 200, he does them for free while he charges the rest. Still, you people that can’t sacrifice your time to help other people are bent on spoiling his name.

3. I agree that his assumptions are sometimes bogus and he has this incorrigible “I know it all” complex but that shouldn’t negate all the good works he’s done. A lot of people on this thread have gotten visas because he chose to help them for free.

4. Information is being posted here everyday for everyone to read and all questions are answered, but if you still feel the need to inbox someone to help you and the person would spend at least 30 mins of his time, especially a grown man with bills to pay, then you must be ready if he decides to charge a fee for his time.

I will not like us to go on and on about this. I have never met Fairheart in my life and I’ve never done any transaction with him. I commend people that come here and help people for free but please don’t castigate them if they want to charge any fees for their personal time especially when you can easily ask on this thread and get a reply. Also, the seldom times he charges should not remove all the ones he has done for free. Lastly, coming here once in a while to help one or two people is totally different from trying to help 200 in a season. Thank you.

I know the fairheart issue has died down but I must say I was utterly astonished when I got to know this guy is still on this thread extorting people (as if Nigeria isn’t hard enough). He has been doing this since 2019 and probably before then. I’ll repeat what I said in 2019 again — “If previous people that graced this wonderful thread were charging for every piece of information they were dishing out, how many of us will be where we are today ?”

I would say the guy in question 'Fairheart' proposed a lot of hypotheses here which some of us wondered what would have been the reasons behind some of his bad and devilish gestures. For instance, he has come here severally telling people to hide their name of school and programs. He would always want to give advices that would give the newbies longest and complex routes to solve problems that seems obvious and easy to solve. I was forced to object some of his demonic thought about people searching for programs. I know how nairaland has made my life way easier considering the fact that I am a researcher in one of the hard sciences in the states. I was forced to analysis his thoughts on many of his opinions about people searching for schools and programs in the states with my methodology as a researcher and I just can't find some of his opinions making any sense. hence, I objected them so strongly but little did I know that he has some primitive and selfish interests that he is pushing. I would propose that his antecedents are thoroughly checked.

I've watched for a while how "Prexy1999" continuously tries to discredit "Fairheart". However, what I find amusing is that "Prexy1999" comes across as a very dubious fellow to say the least. He claims to have gotten his visa in 2019 to do a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan. Yet he claims to have completed his PhD only after just 2 years, which is IMPOSSIBLE. Someone picked him up on this and the next thing he claimed was that he had a Masters degree from the UK, hence the speed. This is another false claim. First, on his visa interview transcript, when he was asked about his degree, he stated that he only had a Bachelors degree. Ok, let's even assume he has a masters degree. Even with a masters degree, you CANNOT complete a PhD in 2 years. It's not possible. In a PhD programme, you use the first 2 years to complete your course work before you then become a doctoral candidate and commence your dissertation. If your dissertation goes smoothly, the earliest you can complete it is in one and a half years, making it at least three and a half years at the earliest to complete a PhD program.
So, Prexy1999, I will love to pose the same question to you that you have been posing to "Fairheart" all these while. Are you really a student at University of Michigan? Did you even attend the University of Michigan?

Also, before you try and come back at me as is your way, let me let you know that a few of us with invaluable help from this forum were fortunate to get our visa in 2011 and have gone on to complete our masters and PhD and also worked at the University of Michigan.
Personally, having to confirm your student status in the Chemical Engineering doctoral programme or which research team you are (or were) shouldn't be a problem for me. Truly, I intend to fish you out. I wouldn't make it public, but be rest assured, I will get to know the face behind "Prexy1999".

When I got here, a lady in the same city drove to the airport to pick me up. She found me on this thread to assist her hubby in preparing for his visa, after 2 previous denial. We got in touch and he got his visa. When I moved in, she came to pick me, free of charge, drove me around and all. Today, we are good friends. I have linked people to meet family friends, other students that connect with me from here that are in the U.S. The network is growing big--all because I extended the idea to connect with other people. You see, this is how life works, but unfortunately, you have refused to open your mind and learn from people you have differences with. And so, every opinion and views that don't align with yours is wrong. When will you grow your small mind?

Also, I know your pain! Remember I tell people to leave my DM alone. I never hide it that I work part-time as a study-abroad consultant and give advise and counsel? It doesn't make me a bad person! If you come to my DM to ask me to do for you what you couldn't do by yourself for one reason or the other, I reserve the right to ask anyone to pay for my time and efforts. I have written so many instructions here on how to prepare for interview, how to create a good transcript, how to get admission and contact department for funding--far more than your pathetic mind ever conceived. I do it so that people would not be coming to my DM for questions that take time to answer--time I don't really have! Yet people still troop to my DM for assistance, to edit transcript and guide them. We all see result and I have never rob or scam anyone. There is no where on earth that a person becomes a criminal for placing financial value on their time and knowledge. If you don't do it, it doesn't mean other people doing it are bad people.

I have equally helped many people for free, even pay application fees and edit SOP, etc. How earth does that make me a criminal or a bad person that you are fast to attack? Meanwhile, I have helped far more people with my time and resources for free than you will ever do if you are to live for 200 years. That is despite my busy schedule! Get that into your block head and leave me alone!

You’re simply being a carnival barker. What is there to understand? Students should simply contact competent folks who are employed to assist incoming students. The ISO and program coordinators are charged to do this. You’re not offering anything special… neither are you equipped to help them.

Don't be quick to judge and assume before you get facts right. I expect you to know better or at least ask questions if you don't understand. I am not hosting for money, or whatever you assume. People are picking up people at the airport, for free when their schools are within the same city or state. Hosting them at their locations (within the same state, with friends or family member) before their class starts. Different people have met on Nairaland to hang around before their house lease were signed and they could move in. You don't need to be a citizen to do this. I have linked some incoming students with family friends in the U.S even when I was in Nigeria, all at no cost.

Some of you here just have terrible perspectives about things you don't understand. If you don't understand something, ask questions like a responsible person.

Me: I going to pursue my MSc program in biomedical engineering with concentration in medical imaging at bleep university located at xyz.

Me: Currently there is high rate of equipment downtime in most hospitals with very considerable lack of professionals in the field . As a medical radiographer, working with these equipments had revealed this yawning gaps hence my interest in pursuing this graduate program.



Vo: Tell me about your study plans?

Me: The program will span for a period of 21months ( between 17th Aug 2021- 31st May 2023) during which I am expected to complete a total of 30 credit units out of which 18 units are for my core courses while the remaining 12 units shall be for the electives. And I will offering courses like biostatistics, biomedical polymers, biosensor and instrumentation, mechanical engineering analysis, tissue engineering, biomaterials, bioanalytics, medical imaging systems, advanced fluid mechanics amongst others.



Vo: How did You come about this school?


Me : The school was strongly recommended to me by my college professor who bagged in his PhD from the school and by a friend who's also an alumni of the school.



Vo: How many schools did you apply to?

Me: In all I applied to 4 schools viz; University of Michigan, George Mason University and University of southern California and in all I got 3 admits and 1 reject.


Vo: Why this particular school?

Me: Apart from affordability when compared to school that I applied to, bleep university has a cooperative and experiential educational program which integrates class room experience with the real world thereby giving me the opportunity to meet with experts and professionals in my field of study. Also while going through the faculty Webpage of the school, I found a graduate research opportunity in prof xyz research who's currently working on model-based mathematical strategies for the analysis of biomedical images who expressed keen interest in having me in his team after I had explained my career goals to him.
This will inturn provide with the advanced research skills needed for me to continue with the research work that I had already started with Dr bleep here in Nigeria which led to my interest of pursuing this graduate course.



Vo: What will this degree do for you?


Me: This degree will equip me the requisite research skills and knowledge needed for me tho thrive in this field and it will also put me in a better position to take up research roles upon my return to Nigeria in research institutes like institute of biomedical research, Nigerian institute of biotechnology and development agency among others and contribute my quota to the nation's building.


Vo: What's your plan after graduation/ What do u intend to do with this degree?

Me: Upon my return to Nigeria, I intend to continue with the research work that I was already involved in with Dr bleep that led to my desire in pursuing this graduate course. I also intend to become an independent consultant collaborating with research institutes and medical organisations in designing softwares to run complicated biomedical imaging equipments such as computed tomography ( CT) & Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines.



Vo: What's your undergraduate course?


Me: Medical Radiography & Radiological science.



Vo: Why the switch?

Me: It's not a switch per say, medical radiography which deals with the use of medical imaging equipments to diagnose diseases is a subspecialty in biomedical engineering where it goes beyond making diagnosis by the images produced by these machines to knowing the physics behind biomedical signal gathering, image formation, acquisition, modeling and quantification and also the engineering and technical aspect of these machines.


Vo: Did you write any test?

Me: No. However, I booked GRE and IELTS fortunately the dates for the exams fall within the first wave of the pandemic and as a result the the exams were postponed indefinitely. While I was waiting, I got admission from bleep university who waived the tests for me.

Vo: Who's sponsoring you?

Me: I was awarded the prestigious deans scholarship award of 30% off my tuition and the deficit will be taken care of by my elder sister who has been incharge of my education since my undergraduate.

Vo: What does she do?

Me: She's a cybersecurity engineer and works for the US military................
