Concorde Model Schools, one of the leading educational institutions in Imo State, has once again proven its excellence in academics by Thursday 17th October, qualifying for the final stage of the Seplat Energy Pearls Schools Competition. The competition, organized by Seplat Oil Company, saw over 200 schools from both public and private schools participate in a rigorous selection process, with only two schools, Concorde Model Schools and Mountain Crest School, making it to the final round.


Concorde Model Schools is located opposite the Imo State Secretariat complex, off Port Harcourt road, New Owerri, Imo State. The School has built a reputation for academic excellence and intellectual prowess. Led by a team of dedicated teachers and staff, the school has consistently produced outstanding students who excel in various fields of study. The current success in the Seplat Energy Pearls Schools Competition is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the students and faculty members of Concorde Model Schools.


The team representing Concorde Model Schools, comprising of Osuji Amazing, Ifeonu Adaugo, Ignatius Prudence, Anyiam Victory, and Chibuzor Melody, under the coordination of Mrs. Ola Nwachukwu, demonstrated exceptional knowledge and skills in the keenly contested competition. Their outstanding performance has sparked widespread excitement among the school community. Prince Harrison Egenokwu, the principal of the school, expressed confidence in the team's ability to emerge victorious in the final round, citing the school's belief in the potential of its students. On his part, Collins Mbakwe, the English teacher of the school, described the exceptional performance of the students in the competition, as "a great feat", adding that the effort of all stakeholders of the school, have paid off.


One of the students who participated at the competition and who gave her name as Miss Amazing Osuji, expressed satisfaction, adding that, the great feat they achieved will not make them to get complacent but instead, will become a tonic for further academic exploits.


However, Mrs. Ijeoma Martins, the Headmistress of the Primary Section at Concorde Model Schools, has noted the remarkable level of academic readiness demonstrated throughout the nursery, primary, and secondary sections of the institution. She has praised the school for its conducive learning environment and extensive facilities, highlighting its capacity to cultivate, enhance and elevate the academic abilities of all students, irrespective of their initial aptitude level.

Over two thousand youths in Imo State on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, gathered at the Place Event Centre, Owerri for the commencement of a large-scale empowerment program organized by the former lawmaker representing Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba federal constituency.

The initiative, aimed at equipping young and women of Imo state with vital skills, offers training in palm oil production, solar installation, filmmaking, poultry, and fish farming.

The program, which was co-sponsored by the Federal Co-operative College, Oji River, Enugu State, has been hailed by beneficiaries as a significant step toward addressing unemployment and creating self-sustaining opportunities for youths in the state.

Participants expressed their appreciation for Hon. Ozurigbo’s efforts, describing the training as a much-needed intervention.

The representative of the Provost of FCCO, Mr. Chukwudi Okey Eze eulogised the person of Hon. Ozurigbos attracting such large scale training to the state stating that the institution is always willing to collaborate with forward thinking individuals to ensure the youths and people of Nigeria gain the necessary skills to empower themselves.

Speaking at the event, several attendees praised the former lawmaker for his foresight and dedication to youth development. They highlighted the importance of the diverse skill set being offered, emphasizing how these areas of training can lead to economic independence and long-term empowerment.

The empowerment program is expected to run from the 8-12th of October, 2024, providing hands-on training and mentorship across the various industries.

Adanma Luke, the producer of the movie Jnr Pope and four others were working on before they died in a boat mishap on April 10, says her Production Manager told her that on the day of the incident, actor Junior Pope was offered a life jacket to wear before they boarded the boat but that he rejected it stating that it was dirty.



In a video she shared on Instagram today, April 13, Adanma said;

‘’Ogolo is my PM. I gave him money to buy things that were needed. because I don't do all that myself. I give money to my Production Manager, he handles everything from bringing out artists, transportation, feeding….he does all that.

On that said day, Emeka the DOP was on a life jacket. There was still one life jacket I don't know who took it. My PM said that day, they saw a life jacket hanging there and they took it. He said he even told late Friday to give Junior Pope and Junior Pope said it was dirty so he didn't take it. These people with life jackets survived.''
