After a long and protracted wait at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna finally boarded a flight and landed at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri minutes after 6pm in the company of Hon. Kingsley Echendu, to the rousing welcome of his elegant wife, Lolo Ijeoma, and a few friends and political associates.

For want of time, the party moved quickly to Nwangele Local Government Area venue for the reception for OZB, party faithfuls, members of Structures and well wishers in their thousands had long been waiting.

The new Member-Elect for Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba federal constituency was welcomed with a forty-five Canon shots parade to announce his arrival into the forty-five ward constituency.

He was received by his kinsmen with kolanuts and accompanying entertainment at Umuozu, Nwangele LGA, from where he moved to the graveside of his late father, Chief D.O Ozurigbo, to pay homage to the man who offered him the tutelage and support to succeed in politics.

After the grave side visitation, Hon. Ozurigbo moved to a welcome embrace from his mother, Lolo Florence Ozurigbo, who was apparently emotional to receive her beloved son.

OZB now embraced by a multitude of youths danced his way to his Maradiya Lodge, venue for the welcome event.

Another round of gunshots announced his arrival as he approached the entrance of his country home accompanied by the rendition of wonderful music of praise that caused a round of emotion from the lawmaker and many present.

Speaking to party faithfuls and wellwishers present, the lawmaker apologised for returning late while attributing his victory to the unending grace of God and the support of people of his constituency.

He singled out the likes of Chief Martins Ejiogu, Barr. Kissinger Ikeowku, his colleagues of the PDP, Ikenga Ugochinyere, Emeka Chinedu for praise as well as, members of the press and host of others including OZB women who fervently prayed for his victory.

He praised the party leadership in the Constituency for remaining resolute despite the trauma and confusion his 63 day ordeal caused them adding that victory at the end was always the ultimate goal which he was bent on scoring.

At the instance OZB showed his Certificate of Return unpacked from a its resting place in a brautiful green box made of silk, the crowd at his residence erupted in cries of joy.

The joy was infectious and rightly so.

While displaying the Certificate, he explained the reason for the delay while praising the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for doing the right thing.

The winner of the federal constituency election, called on his brothers and sisters from opposing political parties especially Barr. Harrison Nwadike of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Barr. Nwugo Ozurumba of the Labour Party (LP), who lost the election to him, to join him in pushing policies and attracting developmental inspired projects for the constituency.

To end what was an hour of fine speech, Enyioha Gburugburu, promised to double his efforts in the federal constituency in his place as a ranking member.

He promised more projects, empowerments and policies favourable to the masses while appreciating everyone who came to witness his arrival once again apologising to those who waited for hours and were forced to leave.

Dignitaries present to witness the occassion include, DG OZB Campaign Organization, Hon. Chino Obioha, former Chairman of Nwangele LGA, Chief Clifford Orjiako, Chief Chinedu Ajonuma, Dr. John Ohiri, PDP Chairmen of the four LGAs with their executives, Ward Chairmen, members of the 2000 strong OZB structures, OZB Campaign LGA Directors, structure heads, Umuozu Community leaders and a host of others too numerous to mention.

A political stakeholder in Nkwerre-Isu-Nwangele-Njaba Federal Constituency has described the delayed announcement of the victory of Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna as the restoration of the sanctity in the electoral process of Nigeria.

Speaking to members of the press from his residence in United Kingdom, Mr. Maxwell Alakwe congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate at the 2023 elections for Nkwerre-Isu-Nwangele-Njaba Federal Constituency, Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna, for his resilience in ensuring that the intended daylight robbery of his victory never saw the light of day.

Mr. Alakwe noted that it was bewildering to see the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) spend 2 months to declare the winner of an election many have described to be free and fair.

He further noted that following his close monitoring of the elections, the victory of the lawmaker, OZB, was largely due to his antecedents of visibke and impactful performance.

The UK based social Commentator noted that the last time such a huge margin won an election in the federal constituency was in 2011 when Hon. Juliet Akano scored over 80,000 votes to win election to represent the constituency. Still, he reminded that the election was in an era when only one party held sway in the politics of Imo State and Nigeria at large.

Continuing, Mr. Maxwell noted that if OZB was announced the winner in total negligence of the actual results gotten at the polling units, then it would have signified the death of democracy in Imo State.

"OZB's victory is a reminder that hard work pays. It has further strengthened the idea that only representatives who do right by their people should be allowed to represent their people and not some party bandwagon support."

Shortly after his declaration, Ozurigbo said that the will of his people had prevailed.

He said that he was going back to the House of Representatives to improve the lots of his constituents.

A politician knows how to smile to fool his town. But, is OZB a politician? Did he wait till it's 2 years or a year to the next election before he started living up to expectations? He was touring the wards and communities not for campaign purposes but rather he was fulfilling the promises he had made. Tell me, which lawmaker can equal what OZB has done in 4 years? Just keep politics aside and tell the truth. A man that rarely sends delegates but relates directly with his constituents.

OZB empowerments are not the one that feeds you today and leaves you hungry tomorrow. From vehicles, motorbikes, SME grants to skills acquisition and startup capitals OZB doings get level and can speak for themselves.

A never before seen gesture. OZB exploits are enough to tell you that you deserve more as a Nigerian. The reward for good work is more work. So tell me people of Nwangele/Njaba/Isu and others. When actually he can use the time to continue consolidating on what he is already doing.

Let us vote Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna for him to return because he is not a politician. OZB is a humanitarian par excellence.

Eziama Obaire and Amaokpara Wards of Nkwerre LGA earlier today confirmed their support for National and State Legislative Assembly Candidates,Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo, Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba federal constituency, and Nze Alex Ohiri, Imo state House of Assembly, respectively.

Members of both Wards collectively stated that they were fed up with selfish leaders and were fully in support of an OZB-style representation, where empowerment and social welfare of the people takes the front seat.

OZB, who is rated as Imo highest performing lawmaker, mentioned that he is not finished with Eziama Obaire and promised to do more for the community if reelected.

OZB attracted the construction of a Health Center at one of the communities in the ward while also renovating a Doctor's Block at the Old Health Centre.

Nze Ohiri promised to follow the footsteps of OZB, adding that he is an individual bent on working for people an action he has exemplified in his community in affirmation of the Igbo adage that says charity begins at home.

He further stated that he needed to return himself, OZB, and Rt. Hon. Jones Onyereri, stressing that the synergy between the trio will improve the fortunes of the constituency.

It has become pertinent to tell the whole world about the unnecessary embarrassment caused to the member representing Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna and businesses affiliated to him in the hands of agents of the Imo state government.

The Imo Environmental Transformation Commission (Imo ENTRACO) according to section 5 subsection i to xiii of the Imo State Environmental transformation Commission Law No.3 of 2008, is restricted to implementation of the Clean & Green Initiative, Environmental sanitation, sanitary inspection and waste.

So it is very worrisome that the agency has made itself a willing tool of some unscrupulous elements seeking worthless political gains many months after the Minstry of Lands made such futile effort to shutdown the same property.

One wonders when it became the duty of the Environmental agency to supervise property documents unrelated to the directs of its creation.

The Land Sweet Peace Suite occupies today is known as Plot BF/26 Area E New Owerri and was allocated to a renowned Obstetrician/Gynaecologist Late Prof. O. K. Ogan of Abia State in 1979.

OZB Communications came into the land through the Trustees of Late Prof. O. K. Ogan (among whom are General T. Y. Danjuma, Prof. T. O Irukwu,SAN, et al) with all the neccessary documents concerning the property made available.

Plot BF/26 Area E was never part of Concorde Hotel as is claimed by the derailing agency.

The base plan of Area E which is publicly available at the Imo State Surveyor General's Office for all to see, and no time has it been specified that Concorde Hotel owns the property there it is bewildering that ENTRACO effects a sealing of the property on behalf of Concorde Hotel.

On the wall of Sweet Peace Suite, Imo Entraco wrote “this property belongs to Concorde Hotel and marked for demolition by Entraco”, so, knowing that Concorde Hotel is an entity of its own with cooperate existence, is it not the duty of Concorde Hotel management to take appropriate measures to recover their property?

The OCDA in an attempt to express their authority attempted to unseal the place but the voices behind the phones further instructed the ENTRACO to Seal the property in disregard of the authority of OCDA.

Is Imo Now A BANANA Republic?

Does Imo Entraco have business with recovery of property or land allocated to Concorde Hotel or to any agency of Imo State government?

It should also be noted that there was never a time the Rep. Ozurigbo was indicted by the Land Commission of Inquiry, headed by Professor Ukachukwu Awuzie.


The endless witch hunt of OZB and affiliated businesses has continued because he has not been found wanting or found involved in any case of misappropriation in his 8 years as a legislator in the state.

The lawless sealing of Sweet Peace Suites; property of OZB Communications LTD is only in an effort to cripple the towering popularity of Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna.

The Chief of Staff to the Imo State Governor, Attorney General, Ministry of Lands and GM OCDA have all been informed of this matter and we hope they and the Executive Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma do the the needful to ensure Imo ENTRACO works within the ambit of the law that created them.

The member representing Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency in Imo State Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna, has announced the delivery of a cow to each of the 43 Wards in the federal constituency.

According to the lawmaker, this is to ensure that every nook and cranny of the federal constituency, especially those who could not make it to his home town, as part of the activities marking the final burial of his late father, Ochiagha Donatus Obiajunwa Ozurigbo.

By this, President Generals are to inform village Chairmen from each ward to immediately come to the Umuozu, Nwangele LGA home of the lawmaker to secure their own cow.

Note that this gesture is not intended to capture any form of partisan interest. This is not the first time Hon. Ugonna is giving out big to constituents. The lawmaker had earlier flagged off an empowerment that saw a good number of his constituents go home with vehicles, business capital, tricycles, motorbikes, and other form of empowerment materials.

Late Chief Donatus Ochiagha, the father of Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna, died on the 17th of June, 2021 aged 89.

He is survived by 7 children and 23 grandchildren.

Funsho was already a favorite to succeed Tinubu in 2007 general election. Funsho had previously stepped down for Tinubu in 1999 General election and defected to PDP. Where he maintained a strong opposition following and popularity among Lagosians. But, not just was his ambition cut short, his life was also cut short. He was strangled in his Dolphin Estate Family home in Lagos. Barely a year to the general elections.
