Scores of Ethiopians aired their opinions on social media on Sunday, July 26, after a rainbow appeared in the sky as Obama's plane attempted to land at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. Ethiopians have faulted US President, Barack Obama's gay stance, condemning it in strongest of terms and warning him not to raise the topic during his ongoing three-day visit to the country. Scores of Ethiopians aired their opinions on social media on Sunday, July 26, after a rainbow appeared in the sky as Obama's plane attempted to land at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport - with many interpreting the rainbow as a sign that the Obama is not welcome in the country. » more Photo shows Air Force One fly past a beautiful rainbow hanging in the skies over the Ethiopian capital during its final approach on Sunday afternoon. (Twitter) They described him as evil for legalising same-sex marriage. "This rainbow is sign of God's protection from every evil activities like obama's government," an Ethiopian wrote on Facebook. Another user said: "Don’t forget ! In Our motherland Ethiopia, the rainbow symbolizes God’s promise for mankind, not homosexuality!" The US President had departed Kenya on Sunday, where he urged equal rights for homosexuals, but Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta was quick to counter the statement, saying same-sex marriage is against the Kenyan culture and tradition. He added that there are better issues to focus on than gay rights. Similarly, the Ethiopian law forbids gay activities. It attracts up to 15 years imprisonment. It is believed that Obama, who is the first serving US President to visit Ethiopia, will also push gay agenda in the country. Citizens have however continued to reject the idea online. "No dirty gay marriage in our continent Africa" a Facebook user said, while another welcomed the President but asked him to "please keep your homosexual agenda in Air Force One before u step on the holy land." http://pulse.ng/world/obama-ethiopians-call-us-president-evil-over-gay-stand-say-hes-not-welcome-id4016947.html

The useful life of a toothbrush is usually less than a month. It is therefore advisable to buy several toothbrushes for each member of the family in advance and replace them with new one after some time. About 100 million bacteria can lurk on an uncovered toothbrush! Don’t brush where you flush Where you store your toothbrush is important. Most people keep their toothbrushes in bathrooms, where the toilet is very close to the sink. The truth is every time you flush, bacteria are released into the air, and you don’t want that bacteria to get on your toothbrush. Expert advice keeping your toothbrush very far from the toilet as possible. Keep it in a medicine cabinet if possible, and always close the toilet lid before flushing to minimize the spread of bacteria onto your toothbrush. Toothbrush holders Your toothbrush holders as well can pick up bacteria that are spread by toilet flushing. A recent study found that toothbrush holders are the third-most germy household items (behind dish sponges and kitchen sinks). Remember to clean your toothbrush holder regularly to remove germs. Toothbrush storage tips After you’ve moved your toothbrush as far from the toilet as possible, and cleaned your toothbrush holder, here are some storage tips to keep your toothbrush as germ-free as possible: Rinse your toothbrush thoroughly with tap water every time you use it. Let your toothbrush dry thoroughly between brushings. Don’t use toothbrush covers, which can create a moist enclosed breeding ground for bacteria. Keep your toothbrush upright in a holder, rather than lying it down. Don’t ever use anyone else’s toothbrush, or let someone use yours. Keep toothbrushes separate. If toothbrushes touch they can swap germs. Toothbrush sanitizers There are products available that claim to sanitize your toothbrush. Some use ultraviolet light; others are sprays or rinses. There are even brushes with built-in antibacterial bristles. While some of these products do kill some germs, there is no evidence using them will reduce your risk of illness. Change is good Experts recommends replacing your toothbrush every three to four months, or more often if bristles become frayed, if you are sick, or if you have a weakened immune system. For an electric toothbrush, replace the head as frequently as you would a regular disposable brush. Children’s toothbrushes may need to be replaced more often than adult brushes. Practice good oral care Remember, bacteria cause gum disease, and decay, and bad breath, hence, experts recommends brushing and flossing as often as possible, and rinsing your mouth with an antibacterial mouthwash before you brush to eliminate bacteria before they get onto your toothbrush. http://leadership.ng/style/447779/the-dirty-truth-about-your-toothbrush

The United States president, Barrack Obama, visited Kenya, his ancestral home yesterday amidst cheers and excitement from the Kenyans. This is the first time he has visited Kenya since he became the president of the most powerful country in the world. He has made few visits to the country of his father’s birth, travelling there only in 1988, 1992 and 2006 before his visit yesterday. His first visit was in 1988. He went to Kenya to discover more about his roots and his father’s heritage. His father and mother had split up two years after he was born. His second trip was in 1992; he traveled with Michelle, who was his fiancee at the time. They married a few months after that visit. The second trip was embarked upon for Michelle to meet his paternal grandmother and other extended family members. The third visit was in 2006 and he was a US senator as at the time. He moved around relatively freely and visited his father’s grave and his grandmother’s tin-roof house. Two years later, he became the president of the United States of America. See some photos from his past visits below: http://www.naij.com/498523-old-photos-barrack-obama-kenya-will-inspire-anyone.html

As part of a month-long trial which started today, new recruits must speak English and one of Yoruba (Nigeria), Hebrew, Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, Italian, German, Turkish, Greek, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Sinhala (Sri Lanka) or Bengali to join as Met Police officers. But the move has sparked criticism from a former officer and members of the public on Twitter.
