It's quite disheartening to see how young vibrant youths waste their life and strength taking hard substances/drugs.


I could remember some months back when I was opportune to ask one of my neighbour who is at his mid twenties why he use hard drugs and the reply he gave me was unbelievable. He said he do take hard drugs to forget about family problems and I asked him one simple question:

"After taking all those hard substances, you get high, after sometime you eyes are now clear, does the problem go away?" He said NO, so I asked him, why then hard drugs?

He was silent for some minutes and he said I should leave him alone that he will think about it.

Today when I came back from work, I was told he has ran mad after taking some hard drugs believed to be cocaine.

Some youths take hard drugs just to meet up their clique standard, some take hard drugs to impress their girlfriends, boyfriends or friends (peer pressure)

There are several ways we can counter the taking of hard drugs.

1. Get busy with yourself: there is a popular saying that says an idle mind is the devil workshop. so as youths go get a job and be busy so you don't do drugs.

2. Meet a counsellor to counsel you.

3. Talk to members about whatever is bothering you.

4. Cut off friends who are advising you to take hard drugs.
