Born on 21 October 1987 as Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun but better known as Dagrin, he was an award-winning Nigerian rapper from Ogun, Nigeria.

The late rapper attended Meiran community primary school, Roseille Nursery and Primary School, Meiran Community high school and Egbado College.


His style of rapping incorporated Yoruba, English and Pidgin English for which he gained prominence before his tragic death on 22 April 2010. The accident that claimed his life happened in the early hours of to this day in 2010. His car collided with a stationary trailer (heavy-duty vehicle) in front of Alakara Police Station, off Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos.

His car, Nissan Maxima, was a 2008 model and carried the number plate, DAGRIN 03. He was 22 years old when he died in a car accident.

His father’s speech at the candlelight ceremony was the rap he did to the song he was featured in by YQ, titled: ‘Efimile’

Though he's dead but his legacy lives on.

A final year student of History Education at the Federal University of Otuoke (FUO) identified as Don Zednas Snr, a Onetime aspirant Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Student Representative Central Zone, took his life last night.

The Bayelsa state Government under the Hon.
Serieke Dickson led administration has ordered all public and private schools in the state to resume academic activities from Monday the 5th Of November 2018.

Schools in the state has been shut for almost a month now following the natural disaster (flood) that befall the state.

The Governor also uses the medium to express his condolences to those who lost their family members and properties during the natural disaster (flood).

He also advised youths to shun cultism, arm robbery, electoral violence and other vices. Also speaking he he said parents should clean their environment properly as the flood has come and gone to avoid children contacting disease and reptiles bites.

...AS BAYELSA RECEIVES N24.1 BILLION PARIS CLUB REFUND

The Governor òf Bayelsa State, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has directed payment of two months out of the outstanding three months salary arrears and four months of the outstanding seven months pension arrears in the state.

The Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Maxwell Ebibai, said in a statement on Thursday that the Governor’s directive followed the receipt of N24.1 billion Paris Club funds.

Ebibai said that the Governor Dickson directed immediate release of the funds for the payment of the arrears òf salaries and pension in keeping faith with an earlier directive to pay arrears of salaries and pension with part of the money.

The Governor had issued an earlier directive to pay the two months salary arrears and four months pension arrears with part of the Paris Club money on September 25, 2018 but had to put it on hold when the Federal Government withdrew the money suddenly.

Ebibai said that the Treasury Department had already commenced steps to carry out the directive of the governor to pay the outstanding arrears of salaries and pension.

According to him, the state is still expecting the last tranche of the Parish Club money, which he said, would be efficiently and prudently managed in line with the policy of the Restoration Government led by Governor Dickson.

The visit, in the presentation by Mr Nelson, was to officially brief the Governor’s aide on the activities and achievements of the group, while proposing possible partnership with the state government through the New Media desk. According to him, like every other profession, new media practitioners felt the need to have an umbrella body, currently working on building strong relationship with the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State. He said COOPA has among other feats, sponsored some members to the annual Social Media Week in Lagos, conducted the just concluded Democracy Day Tweet Series to mark 19 years of Democracy in Nigeria.

In her remarks, Mrs Meflyn commended the efforts of COOPA towards changing the Akwa Ibom narrative and propagating the Akwa Ibom brand in good light, revealing that she is happy about the internet revolution in Akwa Ibom State, the vibrant ecosystems and the potentials for exploits.
