HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA ESQ SAYS LACK OF JOBS A RISK TO NIGERIA STABILITY.

By Eagle Hedge Online News.

Youth unemployment is a major threat to peace and security in Nigeria which, unless addressed, could see the return of economic crisis to our country following a decades of peace Nigeria has enjoyed.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq gave unemployment as one of the highlight and challenges facing the fragile states in Nigeria. He said more needed to be done to help young Nigerians affected by unemployment.

According to him, young people account for about 65 percent of nigeria’s population of 200 million, and youth unemployment is estimated as high as 35 percent for working youth.

“Peace and security in Nigeria is still an issue because of the young unemployed, and until we can address that, there’s always hanging over us the chance that there may be a resumption of high crime rate in our country,” he said this during an interview with Eagle Hedge Online News.

The high proportion of young people in Nigeria is mirrored across many parts of the country, and is often cited as a source of optimism for the country’s future economic growth and development.

However, Sheba’s warning underscores the risk that nigeria’s long-heralded “demographic dividend” could become a liability unless governments can create more jobs for their growing populations.

He called for a stronger focus on providing vocational and technical training for those whose lives had been sabotaged by years of insecurity, poverty and unemployment.

There is a need for a more aggressive approach to tackling issues such as youth unemployment and poor infrastructure within fragile states and regions, Sheba added.

Politics / Leadership Accountability Hallmark Of Honesty. by Prinbabie(f): 4:33pm On Jul 28, 2021
LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITY HALLMARK OF HONESTY.

EAGLE HEDGE MULTI MEDIA ONLINE NEWS.

Our research and discussion with one of Nigerians finest philanthropist and a politician with a high-performance record while in political office hon Abayomi Sheba Esq, suggest that accountable leaders are built by the adoption of different strategies.

According to a former member of the house of representative representing irele/okitipupa federal constituency, leadership accountability is the Hallmark of honesty. Which requires setting aside personal pride, admitting mistakes, and being completely honest with oneself. Honest leaders become accountable by reviewing their own role in a situation and devising a reasonable solution to resolve issues, conflict, and challenges in an authentic and genuine fashion. And that is where the e transmission of electoral results comes in.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq emphasized the need for Nigerian leaders at all levels to move with the waves of the 21st century by joining the digital world as technology has made the world a global village. However not to take Nigerians aback because of personal selfish interest that can destroy our democracy which Nigeria heroes fought for.

From this discussion with a once acting chairman of the federal character commission Abayomi Sheba then one will say developing accountability is a challenge for most leaders. Accountability builds trust between the government and her citizens, it creates respect between leaders and the people, and promotes a sense of fairness that is essential to an engaged society.

Accountability is about the near-wins, not the wins. Accountability is in the striving and the reaching, the journey, the promise of getting there, and the perpetual self-refinement. Accountability is about a leader’s overall commitment to excellence thereby elevating her game, keeping herself improving and fired up. That is the mark of a true leader. Accountability is exactly why leadership is so tough and exactly why there are so few real leaders.

Are your leaders accountable? How have you gone about developing them as accountable? What has worked and what hasn’?

Until next time…

Politics / Nigerians Hope For A Better Democracy..... Hon. Abayomi Sheba by Prinbabie(f): 9:02am On Jul 13, 2021
Nigerians Hope For A Better Democracy..... Hon. Abayomi Sheba

I think that Maybe the reason we love Nigeria is that it is a place where people are free not to love it.

In today's Nigeria, criticism is constant, disagreement is perpetual, and our understanding of our own history is constantly challenged.

Daily, our leaders continuously think of new and improved ways of solving the nations problems and daily the citizens are in a restless place where the cost of living is so high beyond their reach and things are either never good or never enough.

Nigerians are passionate and patriotic especially when it comes to matters that concerns nation building, national growth and development. We honor, identify and defend our national symbols with such ferocity that our protests are frequently organized around them.
These patriotic actions by nigerians could be seen during the #endsars protests and various protests at the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.

In some quarters these protests and actions by nigerians maybe wrongly described as disrespectful but on the contrary nigerians are answering to a national call to duty and service delivery , where the national anthem says
"ARISE O' COMPATRIOTS
NIGERIA CALL OBEY"
" TO SERVE OUR FATHERS LAND WITH LOVE AND STRENGTH AND FAITH"

Nowadays our attitudes towards our founders though not surprising is becoming complicated.
But i know that after all these extraordinary issues which includes struggles for secession, national identity, insecurities and bloodshed, Nigeria will turn into something though not perfect but closer to a democracy.

There is a long history, encompassing each of as Nigerians, though It seems obvious today, that most of our leaders have defaulted on their promissory note. This makes us as citizens of Nigeria concerned.
According to Martin Luther King Jr “But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt.”
The refusal to give up on this Nation Nigeria is in itself an act of protest and also an act of patriotism. So let us continue to demand from our leaders the redemption of their promissory notes

Politics / Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq. Urges Nass On Equity, Fairness In Electoral Amendment Bi by Prinbabie(f): 10:52am On Jul 07, 2021
HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA ESQ. URGES NASS ON EQUITY, FAIRNESS IN ELECTORAL AMENDMENT BILL.

Equity is the hallmark of justice and fairness in any given society, where some are not treated better than others. However, where there is no equity and fairness then, the country will be on the part of anarchy, chaos, and instability.

It’s one thing for leaders to say they are concerned about issues that bother us as citizens especially in areas of justice and equity. it's another for them to do something about it and to let people know what they are doing. Whatever way we look at it, it is our responsibility as leaders to take action towards addressing issues that concerns the people.

If an opinion poll is taken across Nigeria to find out the effect of governance on its people. You would likely find out that most people in the country have not seen or do not know if their leaders have made any public commitments to address issues that concern them with justice, equity and fairness.

If leaders think that it’s inappropriate to discuss issues especially those that concern national unity and national identity, then perhaps they should think again because citizens of this great country Nigeria believes that it is important for us to come together and engage one another in this difficult conversations around issues affecting our unity as a nation.

Imagine Nigeria as a business entity; with the rate of issues arising on a daily basis, employees of such company would likely quit their jobs especially when the company can not prioritize or address issues affecting them.

As Nigerians, we need to appreciate the critical importance and role that our tribe, religions, diversity and equity play in nation building and the leaders at different level of government should know power is transient and the people is actually the power.

The National Assembly should remember they are representing the people and should put the interest of Nigerians first in the passing of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill. And also reduced the depressingly dirty outing for campaign financing in our elections. With the current economy crisis in Nigeria, increasing presidential campaign from 1 billion naira to 15 billion naira is not in the interest of the common man. The 200 percent increased for candidates who wants to run for any political position in 2023 is not a good development.

It is in appreciating and understanding what keeps us apart that we can value how important we are to one another.

Politics / Former Acting Chairman Of Federal Character Commission Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq by Prinbabie(f): 12:48pm On Jun 30, 2021
FORMER ACTING CHAIRMAN OF FEDERAL CHARACTER COMMISSION HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA ESQ URGES LEADERS ON PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE IN NIGERIA.

Nigeria's peace, unity and stability should be Paramount to us as citizens and leaders of this great country. 60 years of independence, and over a hundred years of existence the Giant of Africa is plagued by numerous issues that are threatening her unity, peace and stability as a nation.

The greatest problem threatening the unity of Nigeria as a nation is the colossal scale of corruption that has eaten deeply into all arms of government, private sectors and the daily life of the average Nigerian. This does not mean that every Nigerian or public office holder is corrupt, however the level of corruption in our country today is alarming.

The general opinion shared by the masses is that public office is a profitable opportunity to live large at the expense of the society. This is because, desperate politicians make fantastic offers while campaigning, promising to transform the nation into an El Dorado overnight. Once they are elected, all the campaign promises are left unfulfilled and the politicians make themselves comfortable with our national wealth. This is a big shame for us as politicians, traditional rulers, religious leaders and as a country.

All over the world, Nigeria is known as a nation where public funds can just “disappear” and are never recovered. Public infrastructure across the nation is poorly developed, and the few available are not maintained to keep them up to standard.

The flagrant mismanagement of public trust by government officials at all levels is progressively causing the citizens to lose faith in the unity of One Nigeria and may result in more serious consequences than we are presently tackling.

The diversity of ethnic identities across the entire nation is an enviable heritage that should enhance Nigerians unity, peaceful coexistence and stability but reverse is the case. This is so, because the decisions and initiatives that could transform the lives of the masses are opposed by some political elites, because they desire only the progress of their native tribes at the expense of others.

To crown the problem, some government officials use the power of their various offices to oppress their ethnic rivals and grant unfair opportunities to their relatives and tribesmen, creating an atmosphere of distrust and mutual hatred among the citizens.

Nigeria has been known to have Elder tribals and political leaders inciting their youths to oppose the welfare of any rival tribal groups or oppositions, being willing, even to shed blood to achieve their devious plans. Respected figures in the society secretly procure weapons and distribute them to unemployed youths, who are manipulated to intimidate and eliminate any opposition.

According to the United Nations Report on Nigeria’s Common Country Analysis “Nigeria is a deeply divided society considering the plurality of ethnic, religious, and regional identities that define her political existence. With such a statement coming from the United Nations, it is crystal clear that Nigeria is still years away from being a truly united and progressive nation.

These known fact can not take us anywhere or far as a nation. It will be in the better interest of all the traditional rulers, politicians, religious leaders and every meaning Nigerian to embark on preaching grass root unity and peaceful coexistence. While public office holders put the interest of the citizens first before their own either in appointments or politics. We need to kill corruption and looting of public funds. This will eradicate poverty and bring about DIVIDEND of democracy.

Politics / Promote Human Capital Development, Free The Nation From Poverty. Hon. Sheba Urge by Prinbabie(f): 12:33pm On Jun 28, 2021
PROMOTE HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT, FREE THE NATION FROM POVERTY. HON. SHEBA URGES GOVERNMENT.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba esq. the former acting chairman of the the federal character commission and also a former house of representative member representing irele/okitipupa federal constituency has said that Nigerians should continue to have a shared vision of protecting our hard-fought independence and, in the context of the present times, of fighting for freedom against poverty and vulnerability.

Hon. Sheba said “We won against oppression by colonial rule but our people continue to suffer from many other forms of oppression."

According to Sheba, "A true independent nation is a nation where people live in contentment without experiencing suffering, where everyone has access to fundamental socio-economic services, and where growth is inclusive and equitable,”.

He said that Nigeria as a nation, is yet to be free from the pressing issues of poverty and vulnerability to health and environmental crises. The freedom that nigerians need the most presently, is the freedom from poverty. What is the use of having freedom if the majority still suffers from the ills of society and all its forms?”

Nigeria had one of the world's highest economic growth rates, averaging 7.4% according to the Nigeria economic report that was released in July 2019 by the World Bank. Following the oil price collapse in 2014–2016, combined with negative production shocks, the gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate dropped to 2.7% in 2015. In 2016 during its first recession in 25 years, the economy contracted by 1.6%.

Nationally, 43 percent of Nigerians (89 million people) live below the poverty line, while another 25 percent (53 million) are vulnerable.

“The greater challenge for us now is to create more job opportunities, stable employment, equitable access to quality education, health services, and other social services, as a move towards eradicating poverty in the country.

“We cannot say that we are progressing as a country if we are unable to solve the problem of poverty as a whole. Alleviating poverty would require a whole-of-government approach and by starting with the most depressed and most vulnerable areas in the society,” Sheba added.

Hon. Sheba urged all government agencies to strengthen their efforts in providing social welfare services, as well as livelihood opportunities for nigerians to generate income.

“It is also important to create an enabling environment where all our farmers, fishermen communities, and workers, most especially those at the rural level, could succeed and eventually provide for their own through the establishing of livelihood training programs and providing technical and financial support. This is why I am also pushing for continued support for the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises to create more employment opportunities,”.

“Poverty is what keeps people from achieving their goals and realizing their dreams. We should not blame the poor for being poor. They may be victims of unfortunate circumstances but we should all work together to break the chains of intergenerational poverty. Let us stimulate equitable and inclusive growth in our communities and sustain it. Let us make sure that no one is deprived of their basic human rights. Let us provide opportunities for our people to prosper on their own because we cannot achieve real, lasting growth if there are still millions of nigerians living below poverty line,”.

Politics / Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq Says Great Leadership Is Treating Citizens Like Your Cu by Prinbabie(f): 6:11pm On Jun 26, 2021
HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA ESQ SAYS GREAT LEADERSHIP IS TREATING CITIZENS LIKE YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Being a great leader is more about what you do than what you know. Leaders are persons who possess quality characters, charisma, that distinguish them from others in various ways.

Some leaders possess these attributes and characters naturally while others learn them, often from their parents. The fact is, when you live these actions at home and work, you are also teaching.

As a philanthropist and a political leader one thing I know for sure is that, great leaders keep their promises. Being a person of your word begins even before you make a commitment. To be a person of integrity, you must be sure that what you promise to provide or do is, in fact, possible for you. Otherwise, your inability to keep your promises will result in others seeing you as a liar.

Sometimes, people will want the impossible. They won't like it when you tell them, no, but they will respect it more than an empty promise.

When I was the acting chairman of the federal character commission I had different experiences as the leader of that commission which gave me the understanding that trust can be the backbone that makes your leadership strong. Discipline is one thing and integrity is another.

Until leaders understand that they have to treat the citizens like customers or treat the citizens the way you want them to treat you as their leader then true leadership will be impossible.

The question of whether great leaders are born or made is a rhetorical question. From my wealth of experience as a leader in my field I will say that, great leadership is critical to a leader's developments. “Leadership is a function of knowing yourself, having a vision that is well communicated, building trust and taking effective action to realize your own leadership potential.

HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA SAYS NATIONAL IDEOLOGICAL PLAN WILL PROPEL NIGERIA'S ECONOMY GROWTH.

Former acting chairman of federal character commission Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq, has called for a national ideological plan that will give support to a general agreement on the creation of viable strategies for economic growth in Nigeria.

Speaking on the state of inflation in the Nigeria economy, Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq, decried the lack of a national ideological plan, which he believes had stalled Nigeria ’s economic growth.

He believes a national ideological plans is one of the solutions to Nigeria’s economic challenges, as it will provide an avenue for stakeholders from the various political parties and professionals to deliberate on how to grow the Nigeria economy.

“We do not seem to have a national ideological plans. What we have is a political agenda and a nation should have its own national ideological plans which will be pursued by all political parties. I think if the nation wants to go forward, we must have a consensus building and national agenda, else we cannot go anywhere".

Politics / Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq. Seeks Citizens Collaboration On Nation Building. by Prinbabie(f): 4:33pm On Jun 16, 2021
HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA ESQ. SEEKS CITIZENS COLLABORATION ON NATION BUILDING.

Nation building is a concept that means different things to different people. To some, nation building involved creating programs whereby dysfunctional or unstable or "failed states" or economies are given assistance in the development of governmental infrastructure, civil society, dispute resolution mechanisms, as well as economic assistance, in order to increase stability.

My belief in Nation building means that someone or something is doing the building intentionally either by constructing or structuring a national identity using the power and resources of the state.

The reasons why we need to build our nation is for the unification of the people, for peaceful coexistence, To benefit from one another, to use our resources for our common good and to be United against all forms of aggression either domestic or external.

As a former member of the house of representative I know that, true Nation builders are people or citizens of a nation like Nigeria who take the initiative to develop the community and people through developmental programs either at the national, state or local levels so as to achieve infrastructural development; which will foster social harmony and economic growth.

I have always say this and I will say it again, there are factors which we need to consider for us to achieve success in Nation building. These factors includes "development of civil society organisations, raising a nation capable of providing public goods and ensuring that this goods are evenly distributed, and creating medium of proper and constant communication and accountability."

As a former acting chairman of federal character commission I can categorically say that Nation Building is a multidimensional concept, and it involves the active participation of its citizens in various walks of life. A strong and powerful nation is built on dedication and hard work of its citizen and some amount of smart planning on the part of the Government. There are various facets of Nation building among which the most important ones at this moment in time , seems to be the tapping of the potentials of its human resources q, reducing the social and economic disparity that exists in the society and creating an enabling environment, wherein individuals can live freely and attain their best in life.

FORMER ACTING CHAIRMAN OF FEDERAL CHARACTER COMMISSION HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA SPEAKS ON RESTRUCTURING.

By Princess Eigbokhan Orih
Many meaning Nigerians are calling for restructuring in national Assembly, Senate, police, our constitution, education, etc. But what is restructuring?

The former acting chairman of the federal character commission hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq in an elusive interview with eagle hedge online news spoke about the meaning of restructuring, the financial resources involved and the collaboration of all parties involved in the process of restructuring.

The former acting chairman of the federal character commission says Restructuring is an act of reorganizing the financial, legal, ownership, operational, or other structures of a company, business, organisation or nation for the purpose of making it more profitable, or better organized for its present needs.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba esq who is known as an advocate for good governance said with the intensified calls for the political and economic restructuring of NIGERIA, citing the devastating financial impact of the COVID-19, loss of oil earnings due to the crash in oil prices, insecurity and so much more, one is forced to ask, what are the benefits of restructuring?

Sheba said Restructuring Nigeria will help to reduce costs, incorporate new technology, make better use of talent, improve competitive advantage, decrease or consolidate debt.etc

The politician of note also said though Nation-building might be hard, but Nation-building is also intentional. It does not happen by accident. The test of building a nation is in the leadership and its actions that create the spirit of nationhood, and the willingness of every stakeholder to come together and build a united, stable and cohesive nation.

Sheba whose knowledge in Nation and development is next to nor said " as a country, as long as we avoid honest dialogue, which involves uncomfortable truths such as the cry of marginalization, restructuring, secession and the cry for justice in our country then it is obvious that we have chosen not to walk the path of nation building and development".

According to him, Martin Luther King said “the moral arm of the universe bends towards justice”. So the Federal Government, every man and woman in NIGERIA should take the agitations by various groups in Nigeria seriously so as to address the root cause of the country's problems.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba who said "We can not achieve greatness as a country without national unity, stability and cohesion" . also said "What we need is for everyone in NIGERIA to come together, bury the winner-take-all mentality that is driven by ethnic and religious sentiment and design a structure that works for us through real leadership, the right political will and total commitment to the citizens".

Together For A Greater Nigeria:- Hon. Abayomi Sheba.

By: Princess Eigbokhan Orih.

Nigerians across the country and around the globe are asking for true federalism, while some are calling for secession others oduduwa republic or Biafra.
This is a result of misrepresentation of the people at all levels.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq. Says that it is sad that public interest is talked about by some politicians only during election campaign and after that, the interest changes.
These faulty interests are the reasons for insecurity, poverty, decay in public service, lack of improvement in education, lack of quality healthcare etc.

According to him, though Nigeria is moving at a slow pace at the moment, but looking back at all we've been able to achieve with our togetherness and diversity, natural resources and human capacity, then we will understand that secession may not the way forward but true federalism and restructuring is the way out.

Hon. Sheba said "Governance includes all the practices, processes and policies that helps to guide the citizens in the right direction. The ‘big picture of the success of governance is the people. But bad leadership and misrepresentations of the citizens has led to mistrust by the citizens for the leaders in Nigeria.

Governance is not just about winning elections, ensuring financial stability and longevity in office. Governance Is about understanding, guiding and supporting the citizens.
A true leader most know that they and anyone else on the governance team should ‘set the tone’. For example, how to always make decisions that upholds positive values and help to achieve the vision aimed at true service to the people.

A good starting point is to make sure that everyone involved in overseeing any aspect of governance is of good character, that is by doing the right thing, being honest about what they're doing and taking responsibility for their actions and decisions.

Politics / Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq.seeks Collective Efforts To End Insecurity In Nigeria by Prinbabie(f): 10:05am On May 07, 2021
HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA SEEKS COLLECTIVE EFFORTS TO END INSECURITY IN NIGERIA.
By Princess Eigbokhan Orih.

Nigeria has been faced with the problem of insecurity for a while now. This has affected the country’s economy growth, social lives of the citizens, infrastructural development, agriculture, decrease in foreign direct investment, reduction in productivity, escalate corruption at all levels, likely national isolation, community’s development, increase in brain drain, the struggle for survival undermines innovation, education, healthcare etc.

What is happening in Nigeria today, is an amplification of news coverage on insecurity in a nation this can make things look worse to other countries than they really are and this can reduce the confidence of foreign investors in such a nation that need foreign investment where
Unemployment is a national issue.

According to hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq. One of the major responsibilities of government is the protection of lives and property of its citizens. This means protection from danger or threats to public safety and the ability of the state to protect and promote its values and interests, towards the enhancement of the wellbeing of its people. (Elected and appointed leaders from local government level to the presidency).

Hon. Abayomi Sheba explain the need why Nigerians must collectively come together to find a solution to these challenging security situations that have put all of us on the edge. As Government has a role to play in facilitating this national engagement. It is time to forget politics, ethnicity, ideological and religious sentiments which only seek to continuously divide and hold us captive. Because Security is what can give citizens the space to reflect and be creative and innovative in any given society.

However, Abayomi Sheba said Nigeria needs exceptional leaders at this time of national crisis. Leaders that stands for the interest of the citizens. Leaders who are visionary, understanding and posses the qualities of great leadership, bringing the interest of the citizens first before their personal interest. Because Insecurity is a feeling of uncertainty, a lack of confidence or anxiety about oneself. If the Causes of Insecurity if not resolved, this can have a lasting and harmful impact. When a person, a country or state is faced with insecurity for a long time, this will create doubt, distrust and other negative feelings and this may have a lasting and significant effect in the lives of the populace and the government.
.

The seasoned and renowned leader said Nigerians are creative people. Nigerians in Diaspora are among the leaders in innovation and in change in many sectors. But here in Nigeria survival has become the overriding consideration for many people. Heightened insecurity has made a lot of people become more risk averse in terms of the places they go to and the people they interact with. Traveling from one city to another in Nigeria has become a game of chance and death dodging for many people. Under such atmosphere creativity is diminished and innovation is a back seat. Whereas, innovation takes a vital engine needed to drive change and growth in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Politics / Hon.abayomi Sheba Receives Accolades For His Leadership Qualities. by Prinbabie(f): 2:05pm On May 04, 2021
Hon.Abayomi Sheba receives accolades for his leadership qualities.

Leadership is one thing, being a leader with empathy, having the ability to understand the needs of others, and being aware of their feelings and thoughts is another. Unfortunately, most Nigerian leaders don't have that soft spot for the people they claim they represent or lead.

In order to value the role empathy plays in leadership, we need to first have a clear knowledge of what empathy means. Some times, we tend to confuse empathy with sympathy.

Empathy means being able to understand the needs of others. It means that you’re aware of their feelings and how it impacts their perception. It doesn’t mean you have to agree with how they see things; rather, being empathetic means that you’re willing and able to appreciate what the other person is going through. This is the true reflection of good leadership in any given society.

Meanwhile women, youths and children in irele/ okitipupa Federal constituency have said that Hon. Abayomi Sheba's mission is to help the poor and the vulnerable women and children in Nigeria especially in irele/ okitipupa Federal constituency. According to them, hon. Abayomi Sheba is sent by God to look out for the poor in our society.

They expressed happiness and gladness that the person of Hon. Abayomi Sheba a philanthropist and a political leader with empathy for the poor is present in their society; while thanking God for adding another year to Abayomi Sheba's life.

They said Hon. Abayomi has always been selfless when it to comes service to the vulnerable in his constituency.

They reaffirmed their support for Hon. Abayomi Sheba in their prayers saying He is a man who feels their pain and creates solution for them in areas such as financial assistance and empowerment, child education and paying of medical bills etc. The praise and testimony from these women were endless.

This is what being a leader with empathy means.

WHEN CORRUPTION FIGHTS BACK.
BY PRINCESS EIGBOKHAN ORIH.
Nigerians has been body shame by other countries because of the Alamaing rate of corruption from government office holders, political appointees and elected political leaders. This Alamaing level of corruption in Nigeria is responsible for the under development and economy growth of our Nation. Where public office holders uses public funds for personal gain.

Corruption is a pressing issue in Nigeria which affects public finances, business investment as well as standard of living. Little wonder Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey took Twitter headquarters to Ghana. And many other international companies.

The three dynamic effects of corruption include; poor governance effectiveness, especially through smaller tax base and inefficient government expenditure. PwC studies estimate Nigeria’s tax revenues at 8% of GDP, which is the lowest for comparison countries;

However , with the recent out cry of the world heavy weight boxer, champion BASH Ali OON over the corruption allegation of the Nigeria minister for youths and sport development Sunday Dare is anything to go by then Nigeria is in a big mess with corrupt leaders having a feed day on our collective wealth.
According to BASH Ali, the proposed GUINNESS WORLD RECORD BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT is supposed to be at par with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in generating income for the Federal Government (FG) but, the minister for youths and sport development Sunday Dare preferred going to the FG with cap in hand to beg for money. Ali said the fight should generate $100M minimum per year for the FG. It will also open the Nigeria economic and provide jobs for that period of time meanwhile hon. Sunday Dare demanded for 50 percent of the project where the federal government will collect 30 percent income tax.
BASH Ali said, Sunday Dare told him that he should forget the federal government as he knows to settle the rest in government.
The champion who has spends decades in the western world said he stands against corruption and he is disappointed that a government who ride on the campaign to fight against corruption has corrupt leaders like Sunday Dare in position as sensitive as this.

Bash ali said 98% of young Nigerians leaving NYSC are not sure of getting a job in the next 1 year. Many return back home to survive under their parents; many are at the mercies of fake job adverts; many are at the mercies of fake pastors; many are at the mercy of job for sex. Because of corruption and bad leaders like Sunday Dare.

According to Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) was also used as a proxy for corruption; this dataset defines corruption as the ‘abuse of public office for private gain’ and the index was categorized into three parts; Grand corruption, Petty corruption and Political corruption.

The World Boxing Champion, Bash Ali, who is an OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF THE NIGER (OON). Said Foreign Direct Investment explaind that it is harder to predict and do business under such circumstances. Also affected is lower human capital as fewer people, especially the poor, are unable to access healthcare and education due to Alaming corruption in the Nigeria system.

Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) until his death was bothered by Nigerian’s nonchalance towards their heroes.

Politics / Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq. Urges Nigerians To Stop Voting Leaders Base On Sentimen by Prinbabie(f): 7:13am On Apr 26, 2021
HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA ESQ. URGES NIGERIANS TO STOP VOTING LEADERS BASE ON SENTIMENTS.

BY. PRINCESS EIGBOKHAN ORIH.

Everyday in Nigeria is news of insecurity, kidnapping of the citizens, our schools are shutdown in some part of the North, the people are living in fear and there is high rate of uncertainty and the level of poverty is alarming in the country. Then I asked myself who is to be blamed. Is it the citizens who sold their votes or the citizens who refused to vote or the leaders who refused to do the right thing?.

2023 is Election year a year that should make every Nigerian proud. You can make your voice heard and celebrate a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.( democracy) Wherever you fall on the political spectrum, it is a beautiful thing. And say no to vote buying and stop voting base on religious, political and ethic sentiments.

Yet for whatever reason, many Nigerians will choose not to vote. The highest voter turnout in recent memory was 2015, when 48% of eligible people voted. Many were thrilled with that level of civic engagement - even though it meant that 52% of eligible voters did not participate. Democracy needs an active, engaged, educated population. Civic engagement is key. You can vote right, left, or center, just as long as you vote people with credible background who will represent your interest in government.

The former Acting chairman of the federal character commission Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq. Says “To make democracy work, we must be a country of participants, not observers. Because a person who does not vote has no right to complain.

According to the ondo state born politician “To vote is like the payment of a debt, such duty can never to be neglected, the citizens can demand transparency and accountability from those they vote into power. Because the future of any political party in our country is in the hands of the Nigerian voter.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq who has once represented okitipupa/ irele Federal constituency quoted Abraham Lincoln. “Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.

He also quoted Dolores Huertab who said “If people don't vote, everything stays the same. You can protest until the sky turns yellow or the moon turns blue, and it's not going to change anything if you don't vote - but I Hon. Abayomi Sheba is saying if you don't vote base on people credibility and stop selling your vote for kobo and cry for another four years nothing will change in Nigeria.

HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA SHARE TIPS ON GOOD LEADERSHIP.

BY MICHAEL ANTHONY.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq.has reiterated that empathy is essential for competent leadership at all level in government.

According to Sheba. Empathy enables you to know if the people you’re trying to reach are actually reached. It also allows you to predict the effect your decisions and actions will have on the people. Without empathy, you can’t build a team or nurture a new generation of leaders. You will not inspire followers or elicit loyalty.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq, says the result of bad governance is electing leaders without empathy and personality traits which every leader who assumes great responsibility must have.

The legal practitioner and politician who has always place emphasis on knowledge and leadership experience said empathy is the ability to understand another person’s experience and feelings. "the ability to put yourself in another person’s shoes. But make sure you are assessing how they would feel in their shoes, not how you would feel in their shoes. This is the tricky part".

Sheba further explained the significant political cost when leaders lack empathy. He said lack of empathy is a major contributor to the level of poverty, inscurity, unemployment and hardship experienced by the Nigeria citizens.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq. Is from irele/ okitupupa federal constituency in Ondo State South West Nigeria. The politician and philanthropist who is naturally gifted at quickly sensing other peoples’ experience has been described by many Nigerians as a man with coat of many beautiful colours.

HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA ESQ SAYS VOTE BUYING, VIRUS AFFECTING NIGERIA DEVELOPMENT.

By PRINCESS EIGBOKHAN ORIH.

Hope they say is a vital component of a leaders life. The leaders hope surrounds the belief that his or her goal will be attained. The ability to instill hope is a necessary leadership trait. However one of the most important things a leader must do is to provide clarity of direction

Recently Nigeria has been in the news everyday for different reasons. Some people are calling for restructuring while others are calling for total separation. This is happening because the privileges of democracy as citizens of Nigeria have not trickled down to the grassroots. It is not because the government is not working or is ineffective, it is because there is a disconnect between those representing the people and the people they represent. This is the bitter truth.

It is said that all politics are local; so the citizens at the grassroots are first closer to their councilor, local government chairman, house of assembly members, house of representative members, senators, State Governor, before the President. Once every leader from the local government, state and national levels provide clarity of direction, appropriate leadership with attainable goals then the beauty of democracy will be felt by the people at the grassroots.

I Hon. Abayomi Sheba, I will not deceive you; the president will not know about the bad roads to my village if those leaders representing me either at the local government, state or national levels didn't raise the needs for my constituency. So how will there be development in my constituency? If I am representing my people at the state or at the federal level and I do not represent them well through the presentation and supporting the passage of bills and government policies that can give power to the citizens or bring sensitive matters affecting my constituency to the floor of the house how will the state Government or the Presidency know our pain.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba made this known while speaking to Eagle Hedge News on the need for citizens to elect credible people with a history of empathy, honesty, integrity, transparency, philanthropic nature and knowledgeable about the needs and the concerns of their people.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba frowns at the new political virus eating hard on our free and fair election. He said vote buying is a bad virus that should not be encouraged by the citizens who wants development, accountability and transparency from those they vote into position of power where their future will be determined for a period of four years.

According to him, “when I was representing the okitipupa/irele federal constituency, I used my position as a member representing my people to let the federal government know that there was an urgent need for a federal road in my constituency (that is the Olowo/irele/ajagba/agadagba road awarded in 2001 and completed in 2002). Now that road has an added advantage to the economy value in my constituency. But before then that road was a death trap and many lives were loss on that road. And farmers had it difficult to bring their farm products to the market and transportation was not easy for my people at that time.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba urged the citizens to stop vote buying so that people who will represent the true interest of the citizens can emerge as leaders. He said, “When I first represented my federal constituency there was nothing like vote buying and those were the days of accountability”.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq. Who is a known philanthropist, empowered over 300 vulnerable members of his constituency during the covid 19 lockdown. His constant care and concern for youths and women amongst other outreach empowerment programs for the less privilege citizens, has endeared him to the hearts of the people in his constituency. Thus, an outcry for Hon. Abayomi Sheba to represent them at a level where their voice can be heard through the man whom they described as the man after God heart cannot be over emphasized.

As Muslims begin to fast for the holy festival of Ramadan. Hon Abayomi Sheba Esq has urged all Muslims seeking God to commit Nigeria into the hands of the Almighty Allah and Pray that peace prevails in our country where terrorism and banditry has become a threat to the peace of our Nation.

He said Ramadan is the best chance to ask Allah for forgiveness. Thank him for his blessings and for keeping you alive until this moment.

Hon Abayomi Sheba Esq who prayed for the peaceful and prosperous lives of the Muslim brothers and sisters also urged them to keep him in their prayers.

Politics / Hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq Urges Nigerian Citizens Involvement In Politics. by Prinbabie(f): 10:49pm On Apr 08, 2021
HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA Esq URGES NIGERIAN CITIZENS INVOLVEMENT IN POLITICS.

BY Pincess Eigbokhan oOrih

Public service is a service intended to serve members of any given society, state or country. Public service is usually provided by the government to people living within its jurisdiction, either through the public sector or by financing provision of services. In any Democratic society, the people are an integral part of democracy. People demand for opportunities to contribute to the decision-making processes that not only affect their lives but also the nation at large. Any elected leader, who is in government either through appointment or ballot votes, must contribute in creating transforming policies that will affect the lives of the citizens and also ensures institutions are accountable, responsible and transparent.

With the present state of our nation NIGERIA, I (Hon ABAYOMI SHEBA Esq.) constantly admire the growing sense of activism amongst the people. It is vital to understand the yearnings of our people, their tears, disappointments and pain. As leaders we need to listen to the people who trusted us with their mandate and ensure that we work towards creating the right policies that would improve their lives and livelihood.

"I noticed that, for example my people in Okitipupa/lrele Federal Constituency are contending with the effects of decades of exclusion and alienation, and majority of them are denied opportunities that could add value to their lives. I also noticed that they are still contending with uncertainties, future characterized by persistent poverty, poor roads networks, lack of functional healthcare, access to quality education and unemployment.
All these have its negative effect on the self-esteem of my people, their sense of belonging and their ability to appreciate being fully part of the democracy of our great country.

Let's take a look at the participation of the citizens in the electioneering and the elections. It is important to ask ourselves as citizens of this great nation NIGERIA. Do we understand how important we are to national development, Nation building, civic duties and political engagement?
Over time, it has been argued that there is low interest in patriotic citizen’s involvement in politics and low turnout during election. This can also be attributed to the frustration with the leader’s failure to provide the citizens with desirable prospects.

Taking Okitipupa/lrele Federal Constituency for instance. This is my constituency where the citizens daily struggles to secure decent employment, afford quality education, get soft loans to support their businesses, get innovative empowerment and support their dreams in their various professions. These are some of the matters that continue to affect their participation in civic responsibilities. Moreover, most of them seem to have low levels of trust in politicians, their parties and, at some level, local government.

Despite their limited involvement in formal political activities, the nation has witness the citizen’s mobilizing power around issues that affect their lives. For instance, the #endsars #endpolicebrutality protests by the SORO SOKE generation which demanded for a better police reform. It was followed by the ACADEMIC STAFF OF UNIVERSITIES UNION, protests that demanded for better standard of education to the recent protests by NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RESIDENT DOCTORS (NARD) for improvement in wages and prompt payment of salaries.
These protests are indications of limited avenues in formal structures. Moreover, their dissatisfaction reflects national sentiment. Against this background, it is important that the leaders do not mistake its citizen’s dissatisfaction with the government for apathy.

The people may be alienated from the contemporary NIGERIAN political culture, but I will advice that we the people should invest that positive energy to make their voices heard by getting involved as legitimate and respected decision makers in our country through the ballot box and active involvement in the Nigeria politics. It is also important for the leaders to recognize the people as agents of change in a democratic society like ours, and as leaders we must continue to explore new ways to involve them as key contributors to policy decision-making processes, and acknowledge that, they are also legitimate stakeholders with equal voice in our dear country Nigeria.

I (Hon ABAYOMI SHEBA Esq.) believed that as the fourth arm of government, we the people must ensure that we are meaningfully involved in our nation's democratic process so that our voice will become an integral part of our democracy. It must not be silenced, for we are agents of change in our democracy.
