Humanity they say is the characteristics that belong uniquely to human beings. Such characteristics include kindness, mercy and sympathy. A person’s capacity to offer care, respect, show hospitality, be tolerant, demonstrate love, forgiveness as well as the ability to promote genuine harmony tells a lot about a person’s sense of humanity. This brings me to the question, what is service to humanity or a call to serve?

Being called to serve either as a boss, a director, a politician or a public office holder is not a vacation. THE CALL TO SERVE is to be fully responsible for others, to consistently and continually demonstrate the highest commitment. Your interest lies in the interest of others. So, serve the people who gave you the opportunity to lead them.

In the Nigerian political space there are various individuals who have shown interest to occupy different political positions and lead the Nigerian state at different levels into greatness. But the question which needs to be answered remains. Are they qualified?
Do they have the right experience to achieve these feats? Is lack of experience responsible for the poor performance of most political office holders? Is educational qualification an added advantage for good leadership or is personal transparent integrity a core value to becoming a promise keeper and trust worthy political leader to the people? Do the politicians take the oath of office to serve, protect and to provide good governance.


Due to the massive failure on the part of most politicians, Nigerians have shown a large scale of distrust towards the political class. This is mostly because of lack of credibility, inefficiency, transparency, accountability, empathy and the lack of technical knowhow. Surely you would say that there are lots of “square pegs in round holes”.
In a country like Nigeria where some public office holders whose character deficits and the lack of understanding of what “THE CALL TO SERVE” is all about; is responsible for the irresponsibility and impunity being displayed by some of the public officers in Nigeria.
Lack of empathy, selflessness, decorum and the total disregard for the rule of law by some politicians and political office holders has cast a dark shade about their understanding of THE CALL TO SERVE.
Imagine Senator Elisha Abbo, a senator representing Adamawa north senatorial district and the chairman code of conduct tribunal Danladi Umar who were caught on camera assaulting citizens who look up to them for leadership and service.

Citizens must choose leaders based on credibility, wealth of experience, educational qualifications, humanitarian service, self control, personalities with a history of empathic philanthropy.
When the Nigerian citizens, understands that electing leaders into political offices is putting their lives within a four year period into the hands of these leaders they have elected, then our country will begin to take her footing in the right direction.

Another question to be asked is: Can a Nigerian from the local government level to the presidency deliver leadership and good governance to the citizens? The answer is ‘YES’
These demands by the people are achievable but it requires persons with humanitarian experience and desire to take the bull by the horn and turn things around positively, either at the federal, state, local, senatorial or community levels.
With someone who is selfless, experienced, knowledgeable, responsible, transparent, accountable, educated, philanthropic, well traveled, a business magnate who has a God fearing personality and possesses high morals and integrity like Hon. (Barr.) Abayomi Sheba. Nigeria can become the envy of other countries around the world.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba, the former AG. Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission whose unquestionable competence in leadership and his wealth of experience in politics at both state and federal government levels; whose educational qualifications in Personal Management, Public Administration, Peace Studies & Conflict Resolution, who is a seasoned legal practitioner and a successful business mogul has shown that no knowledge is a waste and the continuous search and acquisition of the right knowledge and experience, prepares one for the opportunity to answer THE CALL TO SERVE. Greatness and the ability to become great in life resides in every human who takes the responsibility to exercise certain qualities and characters which is worthy of emulation through significant impact in any given society. In other words greatness is not limited to age, status and gender.

Great people are scattered all over the globe. Great minds are a visionary leader who knows how to turn unproductive situations into productivity. Who is good at raising champions and building confidence and trust through their way of life.

In my search for great leaders, as a result of the recent outcry by the “SORO SOKE GENERATION” for selfless leadership I came across a great philanthropist and a political leader from Ode-Irele, in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo state south west Nigeria.
An Experienced and selfless politician whose name reminds us of the smiles he placed on the faces of over 300 vulnerable women and families at Okitipupa/lrele Federal Constituency in Ondo state during the covid 19 lockdown and countless number of persons he has given hope to.

A man whose sense of empathy endears to the hearts of his people who constantly call to pray for him and thank him for the help he rendered. A man who understands the value of human life and seeks to constantly invest in human development and human capacity building.
His philanthropic assistance ranges from paying of school fees for the less privileged, providing job opportunities for the youths, provision of empowerment for the people, to financial assistances for needs such as medical bills.

As I sat down in wait for him; so as to ask him a few question about his journey in life, I noticed the consistency at which his phone kept ringing. I realized the urgency at which he picks these calls, the celestial charisma at which he attends to each person who called, his happiness when truly he could be of help and the sadness that is expressed on his face when he is unable to help.

Like he says to me when he apologizes “please excuse me; let me pick this call it is from my people at home please it might be urgent”. What a heart of meekness I must say.

At This moment I, drift and ponder on the Nigerian state with all its complex problems ranging from hunger, unemployment, lack of quality healthcare, dilapidated educational system, corruption, insecurity, tribalism, and so on.

Imagine if we had visionary leaders just like this great philanthropist working effortlessly towards improving our lives and livelihood.

Now imagine one man, who is not holding any political appointment either in House of Representatives or in the Senate responding to the needs of his people. Then it occurred to me that selflessness is a natural virtue to this great person

Just like every other community in Nigeria, the people of Okitipupa / lrele Federal Constituency have also yearned for quality leadership, accountability, developmental policies, good governance and so much more.

All these qualities are achieved when an individual is tested and has proven to have experience; after all, Experience they say is the “best teacher”.

In Okitipupa / lrele Federal Constituency where various leaders has emerged and shown the extent of their professionalism; one leader stands out and fits the epitome and embodiment of greatness, quality leadership, accountability, tested, experienced and selfless. I can say this for sure because, the standard he has raised towards giving back to the society is beyond the bar in our today politics. Let me unveil the identity of the man whose humanitarian integrity has given hope to the hopeless and gladness to the sadden heart.

We all need to have a rethink especially the Nigeria leaders. Because the drums of uncertainty is becoming louder than before. Poverty, unemployment, corruption, insecurity etc has never been this bad before.



In Nigeria people both old and young, women and men are been pushed beyond the wall and this is not the country I grew up in. A country where women can not go to their farms without been rapped or kill by criminals heirsmen.





How long are we going to inflict this unbearable pains on this beautiful country.



Due to the rape cases and killing by criminals heirsmen women in Edo state to the street to protest. This cry need to be address.

This Christmas package to the camp of the enemies of progress in the state is coming after Justice Okon Abang of the federal high court in Abuja thrown out the suit challenging Akeredolu’s candidacy, filed by Dr. Nat Adotutelegan who along with others lost the primary election to Akeredolu in the state.


Justice Okon Abang says the suit was a pre-primary election matter because of its dependence on a pending suit and lacks merits.

Once again it is a season of surprises as Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has emerged victorious and winner in the storms of political Court cases filed against him.

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, has been motivated to do more as the Re - elected Governor of the state through his unique style of good leadership in governance by creating a hitch-free environment for investors and the enhancement of togetherness among the citizens in the state.


Governor Akeredolu has added another feather to his coat of many colours as the Association Of Community Pharmacists Of Nigeria (ACPN) has honored the ondo state Governor with a National award at the opening ceremony of her 39th National Scientific Conference held in Abuja.


The National Chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists Of Nigeria ACPN, Dr. Samuel Adekola emphasized that the award is a recognition of the human capital developmental contributions of Governor Akeredolu to the exhibition of good values, progress and development of Pharmacists in Ondo State and the general body of ACPN.


According to Dr. Adekola the Akeredolu's administration, is the first to have a separate department on Logistic and Pharmacy investment, therefore making it number one in the areas of logistic in the health sector across the Nigeria.


Dr. Adekola who empresses excitement over the 40 percent increment of internship approved for Pharmacists by Akeredolu against the 10 percent of internship since the creation of Ondo State, said “The last time pharmacists were given employment in Ondo State was during Governor Adebayo Adefarati administration.


However, Governor Akeredolu thanked the ACPN for finding his works in office worthy of the prestigious National award and he dedicated the award to the citizens of the state, while he charged the pharmacists to constantly collaborate with the government in order to eradicate quackery, proliferation of adulterated drugs, substance abuse, etc.

The Governor has made laudable impacts in every sector in the state. Akeredolu has been known as the first Governor in the history of Ondo state who signs reasonable MOUs and make sure they are effected and implemented. And the list is endless.

As world leaders looks into food security for their citizens, the Ondo State Governor the man with foresight and passion for the welfare of the citizens has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with two Malaysian Companies on the establishment of Ondo State Integrated Rice Development Project in Ogbese, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

This great move by the governor has received applaudable commendations across the state as it will bring about Economic growth, job creation and it will also reduce Poverty in the state. Governor Akeredolu has given Agribusiness in ondo state a Value Chain booster which includes poultry farming, cassava farming, training in agribusiness, rice production, etc.

Meanwhile The High Commissioner of Malaysia to Nigeria, Mrs Gloria Corina expressed joy over the Ondo State Integrated Rice Project which will strengthen the bilateral economic relations between Nigeria and Malaysia.

The two foreign companies involve in the signing of the MOU are Mardi Corporation SDH BHD and LA RUTA Malaysia SDH BHD. While Mardi Corporation SDH BHD is expected to provide the technical support for the proposed project, LA RUTA Malaysia SDH BHD will provide the greater chunk of the funds required for the project.

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, has expressed excitement over the Federal Government Rural Women Cash Grant Scheme which is in support with the Governor ’s mission to take women out of poverty in the state.


Governor Akeredolu through his style of governance has created an enabling environment for women in the state through various empowerment programs and re building the economy of ondo state after the negative impact COVID 19 pandemic left on the nation.


The Governor who spoke at the Flag-Off of the Federal Government Rural Women Cash Grant Scheme held in Alagbaka, Akure the ondo state cspital on Thursday, November 26th, 2020 said he is very excited about this development as an added support to the already existing alleviation of poverty for the rural women in the state.


Governor Akeredolu who flaged off the platform alongside with the Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq who said over 300 Rural women will benefit in the state.


The Ondo State Governor who is highly delighted over the initiative of empowering rural women as a social inclusion and poverty reduction agendum said this administration's heart beat is constant Social Intervention Programmes for the welfare of the citizens of the state especially women and children.


The state governor said “The Public Workfare empowered 2,930 female who received a stipend of N7,500 monthly. “Special Grant Transfer involves 1,084 women as beneficiaries from 65years and above, as well as 483 physically challenged persons have received N20,000 on quarterly basis, as well as “State Conditional Cash Transfer which took care of over 2000 women that received N5,000 on monthly. And “Skills for job under Youth Employment and Social Support Operations engaged a large proportion of female.


The Governor who thanked and appreciate the Federal Government on behalf of the Ondo state citizens for all the Social Intervention Initiatives said many of these women have transited from poverty to relative prosperity in the State.


Akeredolu reiterated his commitment to continually raise the flagship of good governance for the citizens in Ondo state.

GOVERNOR AKEREDOLU SET TO BUY INTO NEW IDEAS, INVESTMENT TO IMPROVE CITIZENS LIVELIHOOD.

Employment is one of the most important social and economic issues in every State in Nigeria. The rate of unemployment in Nigeria has contributed to the recession and the down side of the economic growth of the Nation.


In Ondo State, the governor elect Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN. has opined that employment generation is a significant drive of the growth rate of GDP in the sunshine state. Therefore, in Ondo state economy, most employment is in the informal sector.


The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has join their voice with other meaning citizens of the state who have congratulated the Ondo state Governor over his victory at the just concluded governorship election and praised Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, over his vision in creating job opportunities through the advent of industrialization thereby placing Ondo state on the path of economic upgrade in the country.


RMAFC which was led by Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaibu Yaman hailed the Governor for his foresight with Ondo Linyi industrial hub which has given the state high economic value and independence. He also applauded Governor Akeredolu for the massive development in all the sectors across the state especially in the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from the sum of 700 million Naira monthly IGR which Akeredolu inherited from the previous government to 2Billion Naira monthly.

According to the Ondo state Governor. " "This has been the driving force behind the Ondo State industrial hub. The most important thing is having private sectors to grow in the next decade 10-15 times larger to really make a dent in unemployment and poverty in Ondo State".


Akeredolu also emphasized the need for restructuring as there must be a fundamental change in the approach to the system of government in the country. There can be no meaningful development without a well-articulated and implemented educational programme. Education is acknowledged as the bedrock of development. This item, as a matter of fact, plays a central role in the other four items in the five point agenda of Governor Akeredolu. Within 6 months into office, different hosting of education submit, restructuring of ministry of education, improvement of quality education, review of education policy document, improvement of infrastructural facilities in schools, provision of scholarships for Ondo state indigenes in secondary and territory institutions, eradication of examination malpractices in schools, expanding the base of funding education, improvement of incentives for teachers, improvement of teaching /learning environment for the physical challenged, provision of library facilities in schools and rural communities, promoting schools sports and academic excellence through competition in Ondo state, paying backlogs of salaries inherited from the previous government etc.


The essence of leadership in any given society is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better. Qualitative education is a vital requirement to produce a skilled base socio- economic development of Ondo state and the Nation.


The information on the past programs in the health system in Ondo state was poorly structured and the referral system lacked proper structure and organization. The primary health care centers were improperly distributed to the villages and dysfunctional without appropriate staffing, drugs and equipment. Most of the existing infrastructures were dilapidated. And the general hospitals which were supposed to be the secondary health care facilities were highly dysfunctional and required a lot of reorganization for the people to derive maximum benefits from their existence. A major setback in the health care delivery system was the inability of the Government to solely fund the system.
Within 18 months in government, governor Akeredolu renovated the dilapidated primary health care centers across the state, uninterrupted electricity in all the health care system, maintenance of existing infrastructures, provision of medical equipment in the health sector across the state, rehabilitation of all the general hospitals, and the staff in the health sector who worked without pay during the last administration were duly paid their backlogs of salaries and started enjoying their salaries before the end of the month. Feeling safe, stable, and secure is central to our health and wellbeing.


Ondo state is one of the south western states of Nigeria with a low land tropical rainforest type with distinct wet and dry season. The state enjoys luxuriant vegetation with the rain forest in the south bordering on the long coastal line / mangroves swamp forest and the derived savannah forest in the northern fringe. The previous state of agriculture and natural resources in Ondo state and the deplorable state of agricultural sub – sector was alarming, before governor Akeredolu took the staff of office. Old farmers association in the state were not structured and positioned to operate efficiently and effectively under an agribusiness atmosphere, inadequate processing facilities and high operation costs was a serious impediments to agricultural growth in the state, perennial problems associated with marketing farm produces, lack of market access, price instability as well as seasonal market saturation which often results into artificial glut and subsequent wastage, poor access to credit facilities, high interest rate and lack of widow for multi-year credit needed for agricultural investment having long gestation coupled with high cost of agricultural inputs were serious problems in the agricultural sector, abandon government owned agricultural enterprises/ projects in the state, devastation of the ecosystem through encroachment, illegal logging and flitching, etc.
The Akeredolu led administration has retained and strengthened the agricultural sector in Ondo state, by repositioning agriculture with the view to enhance production and

employment generation. The government has key into the agricultural reforms going on internationally. Opening of rural and forest roads at least 100km/LG, provision of commercial Agricultural loans etc. when we speak about being focused, we commonly mean thinking about one thing while filtering out distractions.


For any Government, there is need for Enthusiasm, zeal and passion; this is what has created the positive atmosphere and energy for the great achievements of Governor Akeredolu in Ondo state.
The need for infrastructure development is the greatest national challenge of our time.


The growing demand for infrastructure to address critical national issues such as transportation, energy, water and food shortages, mass urbanization and economic and social development cannot be overemphasized. To address the dearth of infrastructure and deliver lasting economic and social development, the state, and indeed the nation needs collective leadership, experience and creative sourcing for funds to execute infrastructural projects.


However, the dwindling revenue accruable to the state government in recent times and the need to speedily execute infrastructure projects has necessitated the need to come up with creative / ingenious ways to fund identified projects at minimal cost and sustainable manner by the Akeredolu led government. Governor Akeredolu administration has engaged both local and international contractors on the massive roads projects across the state. The objective is to open up Ondo State for development and improve social activities within the state, to allow rural – rural and rural – urban interaction for the exchange of goods and services and to enhance smooth movement for the people of the state.
For any Government, there is need for proper understanding of the reality of things so that safety and security of lives and properties can be achieved.
How safe we feel either at home or in our neighborhood can influence our social habits and feeling of freedom. When we feel safe, it is easier to relax, and focus on work or study.
Security and peace are interwoven and inseparable. The world is still battling with series of conflicts and insecurity.


Trust and confidence in leadership is a reliable indicator of the people’s satisfaction.
During the security summit held in Akure the Ondo State Capital tagged “Improving Security Architecture in Ondo State for Sustainable Peace and Development”. Which had various security agencies in attendance? Akeredolu noted that no country develops meaningfully in an atmosphere of confusion, and breakdown of law and order; this is the reason we as a people need to develop a culture of peace and security consciousness.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is committed to the promotion of sustainable peace. The Ondo State Governor recognizes the pressing threat of security and peace to the achievement of sustainable socio-economy development growth of the state.


His Excellency Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has reiterated his commitment to protect the lives and properties of his people by addressing the issue of insecurity in the State. Insecurity has negative impacts on the development and wellbeing of the people. Therefore the security architecture that would enhance the development of Ondo State and protect its citizens and investors operating in the state cannot be over emphasized.
One of the more important qualities of a good leader is courage. The quality of courage means that you are willing to take risks in the achievement of your goals with no assurance of success. Because there is no certainty in life, every commitment you make and every action you take entails a risk of some kind.
The good news is that the army, the police, the Nigeria security and civil defense corps, other paramilitary organizations, local vigilante groups, traditional hunters and some Niger delta militant groups have delegated to end insecurity in the state.

But it is worth restating: Governor Akeredolu’s achievement in office within this shot period of time is nothing if not a results-oriented endeavor.

Akeredolu is a leader who has proven to have more than a basic understanding of his political field to develop credibility with the people of the state. He has proven to be an expert in leadership with the ability to analyze situations and develop several potential solutions to the basic problems facing the Ondo state people since he became the governor of Ondo State.

Akeredolu as a credible leader he has used actions along with words to lead the people and his actions speaks louder than words and it has brought high hopes again for the workers in Ondo State as he ordered the payment of their five months’ deductions, leave bonus, COVID-19 allowance for health workers among others outstanding.

Akeredolu is focused on the goals he is charged with and guides his team towards achieving those goals. The Ondo state governor is a man that is accountable for his decisions and actions.

AKEREDOLU A MAN WITH GREAT SENSE OF EMPATHY

The ondo state governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu popularly known as the man Aketi has been defined as a gift to the sunshine state people who over the years has only enjoy democracy as a lip service in the past years.


In one of my articles i spoke intensively about the man Aketi's humility as a leader who do not think less of himself; but just think about himself less.”


Some people inbox me on some special characteristics of the man Aketi which was missing in that article. However in this article we will take a look at some of those characteristics which will form the basis for this article.



The man Aketi is considered to be a leader with great sense of Empathy which is the “building block for morality. A leader who lacks empathy will struggle to build strong relationships with his team, It is the key to healthy communication.



It is been said that empathy begins by giving others the benefit of the doubt. Governor Akeredolu is a Leader who takes his time to understand the needs of his people and then provides them with the support they require to push ahead, to deal with the challenges that could be holding them back from achieving their goals.


Empathy is a desire to know the other person. Compassion is to act on that knowledge with positive intent this attributes forms the personality of the man Aketi.



There is something refreshing about a leader who is confident enough to show his sense of humor. It humanizes him; creating an environment for greater productivity. With this ideology, the man Aketi has set Ondo state on the part of equality between the rich and the poor. Between different tribes and region etc.



An American anthropologist, Edward Hall said: “If you can learn the humor of a people and really control it, you know that you are also in control of nearly everything else.

A leader’s witty personality matters. It keeps egos in check, spirits high, and feet on the ground.


The man Aketi, is a focus leader and also a strategists. He is able to focus on tasks and navigate his team to complete objectives smoothly and efficiently. This has birth the standard of good roads net work across the state.


As an effective leader Akeredolu has continue to be focused — providing an accurate (and realistic) vision of the future he is leading his people towards.


In the military, we give medals to people who sacrifice so others may gain … In business, we give bonuses to people who gained when others sacrificed.


My question to you is? What do you give to this democratic leader who has done so much to bring Ondo state from the lowest part of the map to the top side of the map for recognition in the community of states.



If we align ourselves with these characteristics, we will undoubtedly impact lives. It will require a tremendous amount of discipline (and self-awareness), but at the end of each day, we will be playing our part in making the world a much better place.

Governor Akeredolu has shown again and again to be an upright leader and a beacon of hope for the people of Ondo State. His strength is in his ‘FOCUS, TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY,
PASSION, WISDOM. And he is inspired by humility for a better Ondo State.




The Ondo state Governor's initiative programs, in infrastructural development projects and human capital development programs are not only touching lives but saving lives in all sectors in the state.



The implementation of the Aketi’s Vision for Ondo state has simply describes Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as the “Man Who Saw Tomorrow”.



In the history of Ondo state, this administration's infrastructural and human capital developmental projects recorded in just three years in office is eight years achievements for past governments in Ondo state.

ONDO STATE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY CANNOT FACE REALITY OF AKEREDOLU'S SUCCESS IN GOOD GOVERNANCE.

It is now a common practice for the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo state to criticize the Akeredolu led APC government recklessly just to remain in the news.
The Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State is like a drowning man that will hold on to just anything in sight for survival.
Unfortunately for them, the Governor cannot be faulted on governance, infrastructure and industrial development, and the general well-being of the people as he is making the best of the available resources in the State.

In his quest to entrench and promote professionalism in the public service, the Ondo State Governor has advised the public servants to desist from active political campaign and channel their energy towards effective service delivery to the people of Ondo State.

It is a known fact that if civil servants are allowed to campaign for political parties, majority will align with the government in power in the State, (i.e the ruling party in the state (APC) either genuinely or as sycophants.

However, Akeredolu in his wisdom has done what many government failed to do in the past by insisting that civil servants should not be drawn into the murky water of active politics.
Rather than supporting this global best practice that excluded no political party in Ondo State, the PDP in its desperate attempt to remain in the news still faulted this directive.

In a sane society, public servants are to be non-partisans. They are eligible to vote for candidates of their choice in an election and the government is not stopping them from exercising that franchise.

The PDP has also ignored the fundamental fact that the ban on political campaign in Ondo State has not been lifted by INEC. Therefore, the ban on public servants from open political campaign at this time is very apt as it is meant to respect the sanctity of the public service which unfortunately is alien to the PDP doctrine of anything goes.

The unnecessary and unsolicited reaction of PDP is aimed at setting the Public Servants against the government, forgetting that the generality of the people is conscious of their foul games.

Governor Akeredolu has raised the bar of good governance in Ondo State and the good people of the State will not allow a deceptive party like PDP to take them back to "Egypt". The State Public Service remains an integral part of this administration and we appreciate their contributions to the commendable performance of this government.

It is not only laughable but highly ridiculous that a rational person can accuse Akeredolu of nepotism. This further confirmed the fact that the Ondo State PDP have lost touch with reality. It’s on record that the Akeredolu-led government has always placed merit above mediocrity in all manner of appointments and promotions in the State civil service, and promotion of civil servants is at when due.

PDP’s baseless constant attack is, therefore, gradually becoming comic relief to discerning minds because people now see through them and can easily predict their twist to every action and inaction of Akeredolu.

Rather than focusing on how to organize itself and settle the endless internal crises afflicting its organs, the PDP is crying wolf where there is none. Their case is pathetically understandable, the party is already dead and desperately searching for ways of gaining people’s sympathy.

Unfortunately for PDP, the people knew the economic hardship their administration brought to this country and Ondo State. The Akeredolu-led government will not relent or get distracted by the antics of PDP in its efforts to make the sun shines brighter in our dear state, again.

From their game so far, it’s vividly clear that the PDP does not know how to play opposition and present themselves as the best alternative. They lack the basic rudiment of playing opposition with decency. They need to be schooled in these regards. They are now desperately using lies and propaganda to draw sympathy, while the good people of Ondo State had already concluded that something good can never come out of them.

I hereby urge the Public Servants in Ondo State, and indeed the general public, to ignore the unholy antics of the PDP and strengthen their support for the Akeredolu-led government, as we continue to make the best use of our resources to develop Ondo State in the best interest of all. Luckily, the people are now wiser and are undeterred by the bundle of falsehoods being spread daily by the PDP against the present administration.

We welcome and appreciate constructive criticisms as against their blatant lies and propagandas. With Akeredolu in the saddle, things can only get better in Ondo State as there is no more room for squandering the State resources.

As part of the 2019 International Conference, the Research and Development Department of The National Institute for Education Planning and Administration (NIEPA-NIGERIA) Ondo, organized an award of excellence and book launch with the theme MANAGING EDUCATION FOR ACHIEVING GLOBAL SECURITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.

The event which was held on the 5th of Nov. 2019 at the Oba Adesanoye Civic center Ondo witnessed the conferment of award of excellence and honorary fellowship to the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Political matters and Strategy Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan.

In his acceptance speech The Special Adviser who was represented at the event by Mr. Sola Oladeji said he is commending the effort of The National Institute for Education Planning and Administration (NIEPA-NIGERIA) for the sustainability of strategic educational research in Nigeria.
Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan said he appreciated the efforts of NIEPA towards implementing impactful education and human capital development most especially within their host community Ondo State.
Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan at the event dedicated the award to the good people of Ondo State and the State government under the leadership of Arakurin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu for creating an enabling investors friendly environment for public/private sector partnership and growth of businesses in ondo state.
He also took the opportunity to call on national and multinational companies and businesses to take advantage of the investor friendly environment sustained by the Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu led administration and invest in the number one business friendly destination Ondo State.

ADEQUATE WATER SUPPLY CENTRAL TO LIFE AND CIVILIZATION.

There is truly something about giving, particularly so, in leadership. True, the receivers feel good, but do also take note that the givers too feel good; the very act of giving also uplifts the spirit of the givers. Leaders give and leadership is about giving;


Wise leaders subscribe to what Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929 - 1968) once said, “The time is always right to do what is right”. Wise leaders are good servants and good leaders. “The principle of service is what separates true leaders from glory seekers” And true service inspires service. A leader possesses his own standards, values and norms.


The ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN has over time been described as pure” and “peaceable” quiet, reconciling, gentle, calm and a man with a great occean of service to the people.


I want to pointed out here that, the most important thing in human life is to promote human values as the foundation of daily life values serve as wisdom and they can also serve as supplying a good foundation for a successful leadership and good community living.


20% of the inhabitants of Aratunsin in Akure the ondo state capital have regular supply of pipe borne water and 80% of the inhabitants do not have regular supply of pipe borne water. This indicates that access to potable water supply at Aratunsin comnunity is very poor.


Good news! Akeredolu has approved the construction of water facility that will supply 100, 000 litters of water per day to the inhabitants of Aratunsin community of Akure south local government area of Ondo state. The water source is 5 kilometres and free. As against the standard of UNICEF NIGERIA .


According to UNICEF Nigeria. In the general Assembly of the human right to water and sanitation, the Assembly established the right of every human being to have access to sufficient water for personal and domestic uses (between 50 and 100 litres of water per person per day), which must be safe, acceptable and affordable (water costs should not exceed 3% of household income), and physically accessible (the water source has to be within 1,000 metres of the home and collection time should not exceed 30 minutes).


It can also be said that there is also this wisdom in the leadership of the man Aketi, to do things for his people, better the quality of their lives and that is what wise leaders do.


According to the USAID, planning access to improved water and sanitation is a daily challenge for most Nigerians. But reverse is the case in ondo state. The citizens in st. Peter unity sec. School Akure, Agape junction Idanre road, Illekun Housing estate oda re., state audit headquaters alagbaka, mechanic village, oke aro, ijapo extension, ijomu junction, light and life , ijigba 1 ikajola, etc. across the 18 local government areas enjoy portable water from the 750 boreholes constructed in the state.

most of the water pipes located in the 18 local government areas of the state were either busted or laid in drainages. In the light of this the residents were cut off from regular water supply and also exposed to diseases such as cholera and diarrhoea.


The residents of Ondo state were forced to have an alternative source of water supply due to the “epileptic” water supply experienced in the state . 20% of the inhabitants depend on water tankers for their source of water 18% of the inhabitants depend on water vendors for their sources of water, about 36% of the inhabitants have non.


Decisions taken by this leader, governor Akeredolu is driven by his visions of tomorrow and based on his experience learned in the past.

The man Aketi is considered to be a leader with great sense of Empathy which is the “building block for morality.” A leader who lacks empathy will struggle to build strong relationships with his team, It is the key to healthy communication.


It is been said that empathy begins by giving others the benefit of the doubt. Akeredolu is a Leader who takes his time to understand the needs of his people and then provides them with the support they require to push ahead, to deal with the challenges that could be holding them back from achieving their goals.

Empathy is a desire to know the other person. Compassion is to act on that knowledge with positive intent.” this attributes forms the personality of the man Aketi.


There is something refreshing about a leader who is confident enough to show his sense of humor. It humanizes him; creating an environment for greater productivity. With this idealogy, the man Aketi has set ondo state on the part of equality between the rich and the poor. Between different tribes and region etc.


An American anthropologist, Edward Hall said: “If you can learn the humor of a people and really control it, you know that you are also in control of nearly everything else.”

A leader’s witty personality matters. It keeps egos in check, spirits high, and feet on the ground.

The man Aketi, is a focus leader and also a strategists. He is able to focus on tasks and navigate his team to complete objectives smoothly and efficiently. This has birth the standard of good roads net work across the state.

The collaboration between the Ondo state government and SAO Capital Limited, an ICT firm, has also shown the efforts of the Akeredolu led administration towards developing ICT in the state and the girl child education, through constantly imparting knowledge of ICT to the girl child in Ondo State; to broaden the horizon of these young women and place them strategically in the world in areas of computer appreciation, Introduction to Microsoft office suite, Corel Draw among other ICT applications and packages, the initiative is developed to encourage the girl child to pursue careers in science and technology.

The Ondo state government is also committed to providing and equipping its citizens and the next generation of leaders with the right ICT tools. This is seen through various technology empowerment initiatives which has cut across all genders in the state.

In human capital development, Governor Akeredolu has ensured the upgrading of the operations of State Information Technology Agency (SITA) to serve as infrastructural backbone for the State Integrated Financial Management Information System (SIFMIS) to ensure uninterrupted accelerated government businesses & transactions.

The ondo state government has constantly train its staffs and citizens in Information and Communication Technology to be better equipped, more relevant and to carryout tasks more efficiently.

Recently 250 youths graduated from ondo Digital village. A project aim at reducing internet illiteracy among the youth across the state.

Technology has the potential to engage thousands of young people and make them solution providers. And this is the vision of the ondo state governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
