Walspring: They ask sily questions like that to see if you know what you are doing or if you get the whole application done yourself or through agent..
Who told you they type the sevis ID into the computer? Don't you know that you give them your i20 and they see it there even without typing the sevis number on the system.. Some might want to confirm sevis payment |

texrem: Are you going for undergrad? How old are you? Your composure matters alot. To me age is not a barrier if you are still less than 30, you can get the visa for undergrad. I have seen many of that happened. Well, i will encourage you to go further once more. I am a living testimony. Its way back tho. I was denied thrice. Here i am. Pray to God and be prepared. Texrem pls check my PM |

Rockymillo: I did, he's not convinced that the school is worth spending so much on, it's Milwaukee school of engineering and was going for business administration , he said he knows about John hopkings, Harvard and co but why would anyone want to spend so much money on this particular school in this recession was is thought, am not applying with this school i20 anymore because they resumed already took Swosu i20 today but I couldn't answer the questions well I know I didn't answer well personally do you think it's okay to try again the third time? Yes I strongly advise to try again with the swosu and be well prepared since you know you didn't answer the questions well. If need be, you can PM me to do a mock interview with you and I can help you detect and correct where you need to work on. You have every chance of getting it the third time if you work on it |

Rockymillo: No I don't have any discrepancy in my dob at the embassy database, the age on my passport is 1989 and that's what have been using on all my docs just saying that , Brotherman, as far as USA is concerned, you are stuck with 1989 as your date of birth. You can only hope your WAEC result is not requested for during your next interview and even if you manage to escape that, won't your school request to see your WAEC result? What date will you be filling on your school applications? |

shayhune: VO: So who will be paying for this? Me: I was awarded a full tuition waiver and a graduate assistantship and my dad will be covering the remaining funds. Congrats bro. Wishing you all the best in your new journey. House, I'm wondering why would VO ask how you'll be paying for studies even tho they can see on their system (sevis ID) that one got full funding. Can anyone decipher why they still pop out that question? I believe/think they have access to see scholarship/funding once your sevis ID has been slotted into their computer during interview |

Rockymillo: Hello Guys, Please Help!!! Have been a silent follower of this thread , got 2 denials already, first was for milwaukee school of engineering i20 , I answered every question but the vo said the tuition is too high so I was denied, second i20 is for south Oklahoma state university and interview was today, firstly I finished high school in 2007 and the fake agent I used 2 years ago told me to use 1989 as my dob instead of 1991 my real age, God will punish this guy he wasted my time this much , Here is my transcript : VO: good morning I: morning ma'am Vo: passport please I: passed p and i20 Vo: why are you going to the us I: am going for my undergraduate program me at Bleep school with a major in entrepreneurship. Vo: you do work now? I: yes as the project manager, here I bleeped and corrected myself assistant project manager, Vo: have you traveled before ? I: No Vo: sorry sir you re not qualified for this visa today. I: guys what do you think I'm doing wrong ? School resumes 31 and am wiling to try again. Please any advice I would appreciate , isit my age, response or what needs to be worked on? You guys and fake agents. If truly you have been a silent follower, you won't patronize agent. Sorry about your denial. Now that you have different date of births in the embassy's database. Its going to take a miracle for you to get the visa next time, but its not impossible. |

ark4sunshine: ark4sunshine: Have been a silent follower on nairaland for a long time and i must say that it has really helped me in getting my F1 visa approval last month. I am glad to be on a thread like this. My question goes thus:
(1) i will be resuming school mid august at a CC in Michigan and i plan leaving probably the first week of august, i checked for flights going to MI is a bit expensive so i got a 1-way ticket on Royal Air Maroc to JFK and would be taking a bus from NY to MI via Greyhound. I hope this doesnt bring any redflag at the POE or do i need yo fly direct to MI and what are the likely questions one could be asked at the Point of entry. NOTE: I got a 1-way ticket because its a 2years course and ticket would have lapsed by the time am completing the course.
(2) can i get my PTA from Gtbank or any bank now during this month of May or wait till around July to get it. Just thinking bank might not want to sell out till its time for me to leave.
To all gurus in the house. Your suggestions and advice is needed. Please share your experience so others can learn especially to debunk the rumors that CC don't get visas. Remember if others were selfish with information, you wouldn't learn. |

yinkdj1: Take a bus to Yaba. From where they'd drop you in Yaba take another bus to obalende. From Obalende as for where you'd see Keke to eko hotel or Adeola odeku. Tell the Keke person you're going to checking point or the embassy.
OR
take a bus from Palm Grove to Ojuelegba. From there take another bus(usually green and white) to CMS. From CMS, take a bus going to Eko hotel or odeku and tell the driver you're stopping at checking point or the embassy.
You got the best 2 directions to get their for a first timer. Thank me later Thanks a lot bro |

duduafri: Hello,
Sorry to hear about this.
I think the best way to address your case is to apply for another I20 as it will come with another Sevis ID. Also, try and get someone in the US to pay your sevis fee for you via western Union platform. It with reflect immediately.
And lastly, I think you should sue the agent to show that he didn't act on your instruction. Also, this will help you proof your case further at the embassy when you reapply for another F1.
Most importantly, pray to God for direction and I believe nothing happens by accident. God will guide you and grant you favour. Its could be really challenging. You are quoting the wrong person bro. |

femi321: If you are going from Palmgrove/shomolu you don't need a hotel. Just leave your house like 4:30am/5am..You should get there before 6am. Take a bus going to VI or Law school and stop at Checking point bus-stop just immediately after you descend from the bridge between VI and Ikoyi. Cross to the other side of the road and you will see the embassy car park. Make sure you tell the driver you will stop at checking point bus stop so that you are sure he will pass that route, some drivers might not pass that route. Thanks a lot, but I can't see VI direct from palmgrove. what if I find my way to Oshodi or yaba will I see from there? |

Michelleflores: Hi everyone, I'm new here, have just been observing from the sidelines and finally decided to share my problem, the story is pretty long but I will make it short. my case is entirely different but I believe I can get some sort of advice from you guys, thanks a lot in anticipation of a reply. I used an agent to gain admission to a Sch in America, South Dakota state university brookings, I paid the agent and he toook care of everything, including the courier service, for sending the i20 to nigeria, I was offered admission for jan 2017, I went for the interview myself, and I was granted the visa, then I left for the U.S in December, on arrival in New York, I was told at the airport that my sevis was cancelled, I was shocked. the homeland security called the school to ask why, he was told that the agent paid the dhl fee with a credit card that wasn't his, so the owner of the credit card reported to the Sch, therefore they cancelled my admission. The officer asked if I could be let In so I can sort it out in Sch but they refused, so i was adviced to withdraw my application voluntarily and go get admission from another Sch and another visa, but there was no ban, I was sent back home. I have just recovered from it all now thinking on how to remedy my situation, till I stumbled on this page, now my problem is, I don't know whether to go right ahead and get another admission and go for another visa interview or to write a letter to the embassy in Nigeria explaining what happened, cos my visa was for two years, I need help guys. Scrolling through the thread, I just found this... So sorry to hear about your predicaments. I'm really curious If the sevis ID you will be getting from your new admission will be the same with the last one you had issue with or will it be different sevis number? |

God will ? Can someone remind this woman what she was employed to do in the first place? Why not take responsibility for your job rather than waiting for God to turn around Nigeria. That statement is absurd. These Nigerian leaders just weak me |

It's Funny how justwise chickened out from the main issue and diverted to the $210 reciprocity law when the main point being discussed is the exchange rate. If I am to score his analytical skills, I'll give him 1/10 because he went totally off point. Lagosismyhome really get time like walspring said. I'm sure the smart ones can read between the line. I dropped a comment about the issue yesterday and someone deleted it so I gave up on the issue because deleting such valid point tells a lot already. |

tolajay: I'm really interested in this.
You mean the embassy pegs its dollar exchange rate at N400 which is a far cry above the official and black market?
Would appreciate more insight and evidence .
Cheerios! The evidence is on US embassy's website |

filypo: Is there any possibility to my case? It's just the year of birth that's different. The day and month is accurate. Is there any chance of me getting a visa? How should I order my answer if the question arises. Yes there is. You should first of all admit that you LIED . Don't even try to scuttle a way around it explaining some stories that don't match because they know you lied already. Admitting your mistake is the first step to resolution and If the VO feels like pardoning you, you can get the visa. |
