FrLukas: Calm down Mr Oga. I understand your point. The continued influx of people into Lagos state keeps straining the resources.
I get that.
So what do you do? Ban people from traveling into Lagos state?
I dont think so.
That's why the agitation for a Yoruba nation is very important, but people don't wanna hear it.
People will keep migrating to Lagos without a job and the security of lives and properties of so-called Lagosians will be at stake.
You can't wish that away. True..... But banning okada/riders as a wish of lasg shouldnt be treated with emotions. There are times we av to be ruthless. Stricts measures sometimes is necessary for development. Lagosians should gear up and expect the unexpected. That's it. |
Politics › Re: Okada Men In Tears As Lagos State Bans Them From February 1 by princemillla(m): 9:17am On Jan 31, 2020 |
FrLukas: Governance is about the people, just in case you don't know.
There are many people who make a livelihood through that means and who are also "Lagosians" as you call it.
Who are Lagosians, if I may ask?
What you don't understand is that, as long as people are busy in the day time, gainfully employed, they'll be too tired to go out at night and rob.
You want to learn this the hard way?
That policy, while it seems a step in the right direction for the safety of the people is not well thought out.
Even if it is just Lagosians, let the government help them with a soft landing.
Put yourself in the shoes of the okada man who has to go home empty handed every night. I get ur point. So u mean Lagos state govt should keep empowering the unnecessary massive influx of non indigene? If they want to rob let them go ahead. Lagos state is just one state out of 36 states in Nigeria. She knows what's good for her. Like I said if anyone is aggrieved, goto court and challenge the decision. Very simple. Lagos is not the first state to ban okada and it won't be the last |
Politics › Re: Okada Men In Tears As Lagos State Bans Them From February 1 by princemillla(m): 8:16am On Jan 31, 2020 |
FrLukas: You should provide alternative means of livelihood for them. Open up farms and mechanize it for them.
Otherwise, the security challenges of Lagos will triple before mid-year. On what ground? How many of them are Lagosian? How many businesses has been set up by other states that ban okada? Let's not be sentimental about this issue. Lasg did the right thing |
Politics › Re: Okada Men In Tears As Lagos State Bans Them From February 1 by princemillla(m): 8:10am On Jan 31, 2020 |
Anyone who feel aggrieved by lasg to ban okada/Keke rider in some places should sue Lagos state govt.
These guys should get out of Lagos state. Special team of neighborhood and task force /nscdc not police they r corrupt) should be on the outlines lgs for defaulters.
Their Okada confiscated and the passenger arrested. These guys should go back to wherever they came for.
We are tired to this nonsense in Lagos.
Someone up there said Okada saves life in the case of traffic. They are the major reason for traffic congestion in many places. So they need to get out of Lagos road |

omlueh: Coronavirus or whatever it is called, i don't ever, and will never believe in such virus, the western world all look up for something to meek out money from the rest of the world, it was firstly HIV, then AIDS, later EBOLA, now CORONAVIRUS, what name will they give the next after coronavirus, sooner or later you will hear that it is now in Africa and all the third world countries/ underdevelop countries, then their so called therapist/ physician in the western world would be the ones that would profers the necessary Antidote/Medication for the cures/remedies, there by meeking out the so called underdeveloped/third world countries of their physical Cash/Resources. They will every says all these Viruses are from wild/bush Animals, thereby wanting to stop us from the consumption of our delicacy Bush meat, during the time of HIV/AIDS, which i was never an apostle of, where are the likes of Dr. Abalaka's who said they have antidotes, they were all relegated because they will spoil businesses as usual for the west, they(west) must/will surely comes out with something of Virus whatsoever to exploit the so called Underdeveloped. I beg to differ, the first drugs to suppress/cute ebola was found in Africa ( republic of Congo) So I don't believe this is a man made. This particular one was found in seafood. Until human exploration is limited, we won't stop having unknown killer viruses in our midst |

SpecialAdviser: You are right but how many research centers are in Nigeria? I know why I asked that question. We may have been having such cases with remedies always available. Our problem is that we don't really care. That's just the blunt truth. We don't care as long as one white man has not come to inform us this is what's on ground. It' won't be by mistake, we should expect this Corona virus in Nigeria. China is Nigeria trade partner so there is no way it won't come down but is Fg ready to tackle the issue? Proactive approach would be better. |

Rosskiye: They cannot do anything.
The rise of Africa, the Cradle of Mankind, has been ordained in the highest quarters of the universe by the most powerful unseen forces. Nothing can stop it, except the Almighty Himself.
Today, 8 of the 15 fastest growing economies in the world are in Africa. That is an INCREDIBLE development, especially for a continent that, just 15 years ago, was dismissed as the ''Hopeless Continent'' only fit for foreign aid and handouts.
Today, the narrative has changed, and no power on earth can stop the trend. U wish Sha...... Libya was once on this path befor they pull it down. Am not trying to be pessimist but these what the dark nation called the powerful nation of the world have been doing since. Once they spot a growing County, they distabilise it. Nigeria is a typical example. |

wristbangle: It's better. It's a way to di-congest Apapa port which has been overlaid with burden of cargoes and makes vehicle movement difficult.
The question is that does Onne possess the necessary infrastructure and security to contain Maersk cargoes? The management of Maerskline will not make such a silly decision if the bolded above has not been duly given a good shot and scrutinized. It’s a multinational company. The onus is now on the govt of that region to prove to other reputable company that security of life and property is valued. In no time I believe others too will follow |
