McLuhan: I find this fixation on sex and sexuality rather annoying. Must every discussion on Nairaland be connected to intercourse? The worst of all is that such threads often tend to objectify women and reduce them to mere apparatuses for the satiation of male lust. As a man, I find this portrayal not only demeaning to women but also insulting to those of us who consider our wives equal partners with us. The idea of menstruation on one's wedding night as being some kind of sin or abomination is sexist, chauvinistic, and condescending.

I looked up at the smiling Pastor then at the choristers with their rainbow of expressions, before I slowly stood up.

Instantly, the memories flooded and I remembered it all: I was leading a Cece Winans piece deep from my heart; the interfering tears; the choir master's glare; the electrifying feeling; the scream and then the fall.

Something supernatural happened to me!

Immediately, i searched the ache that was etched 5 years in my heart, It was gone! I had finally forgiven them for their betrayal!

Joyful tears flooded my eyes as I shouted with my might.

'I am free indeed!'

The congregation must have thought me mad. But i didn't care because I know what had left.
