I am long gone communicating with me. I went for a burial and it was a celebration of life, cos the deceased lived a very long life. The booze flowed in dozens.
well then, cheers to a life well lived. Inbetween, you need to teach me on how to do this communication with inner sef thingy, if yours could produce such wonderful story with a unique plot, then i need to learn also ![]() |

Eze Promoe: He whose hand is on the plough does not look backwards. You are at the apex of my love and the person who is below you shouldn't matter to you, not to talk of the person that is at the bottom. Baby, you're too far from the bottom and can't be able to see who's there. Stretching your neck to see can cause you a fall.chief Eze, hian! Oliver twist ka gi mma sef, o nwayi nile no n'obodo ki 'ga lu en? ![]() anyway, thanks for my epistle, i was trying to decode some ibo there, i ma n' ayi bu nde a muru n' ala bekee ![]() so, Kisses for you ![]() |

Its either most people take the competition very trivial or they just don't care. I mean, Spacing and paragraphing was emphasized at the start, yet some didn't pay heed or try to pay heed. (no excuse, cos some writers actually spaced!) Would have thought some of 'em would do a crash course with Google and get a better perspective of what a short story is all about. But sadly, I didn't see the tell tale signs on some stories... I mean its just a click away! Foresight people, foresight! And what is it with brackets and side comment. Me thinks it ends up trivializing the work, why not use the dash (-) parenthesis for anything that must be said aside, or better still let the bracketed words flow with the overall narration. How can you describe a character in a bracket! Jeez. And really, spellings shouldn't be defended here, seeing this is a competition that allowed some space of time for the writers to work on their piece, typos should be a no no! Maybe bad sentence construction and misplaced tenses here and there can be overlooked because not everyone know the rudiments of the English language, but spellings should have been corrected, this is a competition for real. Even if there wasn't a price, what about the prestige guyz! Ain't that worth a fight? And why would anyone use text message English, abbreviated and all! ''cox'' ''omg'' really ![]() Some people seem to take this thing for granted, that's what i still think. A short story should have a complete theme, telling a story from beginning to end. Phew, I hope subsequent posts would get better. ![]() |
Eze Promoe: First of all, let me remind you that you are a great person, worthy of veneration. You're sweeter than demerara sugar, and your prowess tendency is of a high quality. Your beauty is undeniable, and if I were a machine, you are the one with my remote.oh pulomoe! #claps and jumps# ![]() #in an heavy ibo accent# all this for me? Heh oh! Ayam feeling like Ada mbano oh! ![]() but you did not call me all those sweet sweet ibo names for nwayi Oma like me na ![]() ayam not a vely good rover of all this bekee bekee ![]() Ada Imo kam bu ![]() #inbetween, I loved this line more : 'if I were a machine, you are the one with my remote' ![]() |
So far so good, nice stories have been trickling in, and well i got just a tiny 'little' something something for each... - Miss fibre, you must be an ardent reader of the biblical Revelation book, cos your piece got my mind wandering... - Plain mirror, obviously you think literature is limited to flows' chistar and foxy autobiographical piece, please read wider, you need other influence. Thank you. - Rovyer, with an all round developed elements of writing, i guess i can say you did your homework well? - Kslib - all is indeed well with your good descriptive prowess. But as my lecturer would often say 'over skill kill monkey' Nugess; If that was not a short story indeed, then was it? Hmm, i guess you did your homework well ![]() - Bestluv58, you obviously watch too much Nollywood. - Sammyhoe, complex grammar don't necessarily sell a work. You'd be surprised at how simple and correct everyday English tinged with little 'high tech' vocabulary can help you sell millions. - Rubyspice, you put the short upon the short in a short story. I know you can allow the words flow more! - nastydroid - 'The end' left me speechless and I was like 'Has the story ended, when it only just began?' ![]() - Sambroose- Maybe after you separate dialogues from narration, I can know where to hold. You are a literature section regular right? ![]() Damexx - you, like some others are fighting cat and dog with the phrase 'please space your works' and to think it was emphasised! That's all I've seen, so am pleading with others, take the bull by the horn already! Criticism don't kill for jeez sake! |
Eze Promoe: Princesa mode activatedokay then, lets see how good you rock ![]() |
Eze Promoe: Expect your own soon. Though I stopped writing when I found that many weren't replying theirs e.g ItsModella, HBG, Loretta etc.no problem, you would definitely get my reply in accordance to how well you swept me off my feet. ![]() |

well its true sha, he might compensate ur good samaritan effort ![]() |
Phew! Finally. You've achieved a feat and created a mark for yourself on literature section, 2 completed stories already and a large fan base of readers and followers, kudos dude, you should be proud of urself ![]() as for the story, I've always wished i went to a boarding school because the stories that the boarders ever have to tell always intrigue me... But as it is, i wouldn't want my kids going to a boarding school still. Ironic hunh? And... #the phrase is actually the 'sixth sense' not 'the fifth sense'. We already have five natural senses and it is assumed that 'a sixth' sense helps people get insight, foresight, feelings or gut instincts of things than they should. Welldone, i say again |
