Chai, see utter delusions and cowardice. A protest is happening in Niger state, northern Nigeria but this thing is lamenting about Biafra and some people. What has hunger and protests in Niger got to do with them?

With people of low IQ like this, it’s no surprise why an empty character likeThiefnubu is ruling and destroying their lives.

Spit!

accordadoga22:
Hehehe

This is what some people want for this country because one party animal who has turned a football fan lost an election.

Whether there is war or not because of the current hardship in the country, Biafra won't be achieved.

Hardship or not, Tinubu till 2031, Shettima from 2031 to 2039, Wike from 2039.

People from a region that are not pleased can go and hug transformer.

How are people even coping now?

There is hunger in the land but we hope things get better soon.

Tinubu should bring back subsidy on petrol that is the only solution for now,its the only thing the masses enjoy. They can devise other means of paying for the subsidy like taxing the rich through property and income taxes.

Hahaha, so you’re not aware your tinubu is still paying subsidy?

Based on current exchange rate and international oil price, fuel won’t be less than 1000 naira per liter. Dude has destroyed whatever is left of Nigeria.

This racket has been going on because the authorities are probably not aware.

So, the attention of Imo state police commissioner, POSSAP Secretariat and the Inspector of Police are needed over this shameful situation.

Below is my email…

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope this email finds you well.

On the 22/01/2024, I applied online for Police Clearance Certificate and paid the required fees accordingly. Unfortunately, there was a delay on the portal but when I reported the issue, it was swiftly resolved. Subsequently, I was prompted to proceed to my state police headquarters for biometrics.

To my shock, when I got to the state CID in Owerri (situated at the government house), the person in charge requested that I should pay another 30,000 naira before they would commence with the biometrics. I told her that I have already paid online and was requested to come for biometrics capturing. She remained adamant.

Please, I’m pleading that you use your good office to resolve this issue and call them to order. They’re really tarnishing the image of the institution despite the efforts you’re making at the headquarters. This is blatant corruption and there ought to be consequences.

I humbly await your prompt response on this ugly situation.

Regards,

Corruption feeds on silence, thriving in a culture of complacency ~~ Anonymous

Corruption breeds cynicism, eroding faith in institutions and the belief in a better society ~~ Anonymous.

I applied for police clearance certificate online and was requested to pay for the necessary fees (about 30,000 naira) which I did. When I encountered a system delay, I wrote an email to the secretariat in Abuja, and they swiftly responded. I was excited at their professional conduct and prompt response to my email.

Unfortunately, things took a different turn when I got to the Imo state CID situated at the state police headquarters within the government house, to conduct biometrics. I was directed to meet a lady who was in charge of biometrics. Then I was shocked when she demanded for another 30,000 naira payment. I immediately told her that I have already paid online and was only directed to come for biometrics capturing. Her countenance changed and she told me I must pay the fee or go look for inspector Ogbu**.

I realized she wanted to frustrate me and I left.

It is really saddening and distasteful that in this modern time, corruption still thrives in the open like this. No society can ever develop if corruption is allowed to become so endemic.

I have written to POSSAP Secretariat, via the address below:

When this post was first made, things hasn't become so clear as it is now. But people with foresight will always predict outcomes successfully.

With recent relocation of strategic federal establishments like CBN and FAAN to Lagos, while insurgents now make incursions into Abuja on a daily basis, the agenda becomes very vivid!
Politics / Re: Tinubulation: How The Hell Are Northerners Surviving? by proeast(m): 4:05pm On Feb 01
Aside the catastrophic economic consequences on the economy of Kano and by extension, Northern Nigeria, the socio-cultural relationship will also be hampered severely.
Politics / Re: Tinubulation: How The Hell Are Northerners Surviving? by proeast(m): 4:03pm On Feb 01
Niger republic almost completely bestride Nigeria's northern borders except a small fraction with Chad. Unfortunately, Chad is not an ECOWAS country and neither will Boko Haram and other insurgencies going on in that axis allow significant trade. In other words, the Sahel trade that is crucial for Kano's economy in particular and Northern Nigeria in general, has effectively ended!

This trade has been a key factor in sustaining the economy of Kano/North for many centuries. Today, it has ended. No thanks to Tinubu's poor diplomacy, or was it on purpose to completely bring Northern Nigeria to its knees?
Politics / Re: Tinubulation: How The Hell Are Northerners Surviving? by proeast(m): 3:57pm On Feb 01
I heard that Niger rep, Burkina Faso and Mali severing ties with ECOWAS will have far reaching implications.

However, the most stunning outcome is the fact that Benin republic abandoned ECOWAS resolutions to strengthen ties with Niger rep and the other Sahel countries. What this means is that while Tinubu shut our borders with Niger, Benin republic smartly opened theirs to them!

Niger rep may be a poor country, but the country now has crude oil, uranium and lignite they're currently exporting in huge volumes. Similarly, they're also importing massively. However, all these trade volumes are now COMPLETELY done via Benin republic!!!

So, what's the source of IGR?
Also, remember to add PAYE and its contribution and impact on a country or state economy.

In most states aside Lagos region and Rivers state, IGR is mostly gotten from civil servants tax deductions at source. Also, states with higher federal government allocation tend to have higher IGR because such states are able to employ more civil servants which leads to more tax deductions. This also applies to states that have more federal government establishments which leads to more tax than those without.

Aside the above factors, states prioritize tax collection differently. A particular governor may pursue taxation aggressively, including taxing pepper and pure water sellers while another governor might decide to ignore.

GDP is a reliable way to guage productivity/output, not IGR.

Infact they control the price

Do you know happens if they didn't bring just Onions down south

Or let's say beans

😳

No, they don't control price. Price is a function of demand and supply. If price is high, demand falls and your perishable goods becomes ruined because of reduced/no buyers.

They have no storage facilities, so they must sell as fast as possible after harvest. You can't control price under such situation because you're desperate to sell off.

Beans or other foodstuff don't just come from North alone, some of them come from Chad, Niger and even Burkina Faso.

It is stupid to claim a region is not productive when you fail to provide how much such a region generates via IGR.

IGR? Are you sure you're educated? Production has to do with GDP not IGR.

The population of Kano is higher than Lagos according to official data. Kaduna also has high population yet the so-called IGR is not commensurate with such huge populations. If they're productive, the IGR should also match the population.

4. North has very few industries and production centers; unlike South, North has very few industries that are still operating. Aside Kano, the rest of Northern Nigeria is almost dead, in terms of industries. Even Kano is no longer what it used to be. But in Lagos, Ogun, Anambra, Abia, Rivers, Oyo etc. Southern states still have significant industries thereby reducing unemployment and boosting the local economy.

5. Commerce and services are low in the North;
commercial activities helps to boost local economy and put money in circulation. Aside Kano, commercial activities and accompanying services is also low in the North, unlike the South.

6. Population explosion in North; families in the North are larger than families in the South. You can see the average family in the North having 10 individuals while those in the South averages 6. If a family of 10 earns 5000 naira a day and a family of 6 earns 5000, those with 6 individuals will automatically have a higher standard of living.

7. Other economic enablers are low in the North
; there are hundreds of thousands of people in the South engaged in music, movie, football, freelancing, forex trading, crypto etc. These people will also help in boosting local economy in the South unlike the North.

On a side note, my heart goes out to the 10 million almajiris that were already eating from the dustbin even when Nigeria was still 'good'. It might not be long before kwashiokor and marasmus will hit the North. The main advantage they have is agriculture, yet they can't even practice it freely anymore because of insecurity. Already, there are signs that their governors are already going crazy with the situation of things. The Niger state governor was reported as saying that they will cut off Kainji dam power supply if they're not allowed to enjoy oil derivation like those in the Niger Delta. Only frustration can make a supposedly educated person make such ridiculous statement.

I ask again, how the hell are Northerners surviving tinubulation?!

This question has become very essential in the face of economic turbulence that has hit Nigeria badly, since Tinubu forced himself into office.

In Lagos, P.H, Abuja, Onitsha, and the rest of Southern Nigeria, people are already at their wit's end. The suffering can only be imagined. Therefore, if the South is already at the brink, then one can only imagine the situation in the North.

This argument is not based on sentiments, but on realities on ground. Before anyone will want to say otherwise, I will provide the following facts:

1. North has no remmitances, unlike South; there are millions of people in the South now that are surviving on remmitances. When they get money from their siblings abroad, they patronize local businesses and the local economy receives boost. Thereby circulating money/earnings. Remmitances currently gives Nigeria as much as income as crude oil. That's how huge it is!

2. There are little Yahoo boys in the North
; after legit remmitances and crude oil, Yahoo Yahoo is the second highest forex earner for Nigeria. Their base is largely in the South. Sometimes, you will see them doing giveaway. Buying luxury goods that other Nigerians can no longer afford. Building houses, patronizing local businesses and generally boosting the local economy in the South. Again, North misses out!

3. Fuel price is significantly more expensive in the North
; the difference in fuel pump price between Lagos and Maiduguiri or Sokoto can be as high as 50 naira per litre! When you aggregate it, you will discover that those Northern states are already losing billions of naira at source! Other important going to the North such as tokunbo vehicles, food, machines etc are also going to be high due to high cost of diesel/fuel. Their operational cost will be high and profits very low. The few businesses or industries in the North will be at a greater risk of collapsing than those in the South!
