Has Nigeria become so worthless and rotten to that extent

Not yet best, but if he continues and improves on this pace, he will be in the league of legends like Mbakwe, Jakande, Okpara etc. Unlike the criminal called Bat who is the worst rogue in the history of Nigeria. Even Anini wasn’t as despicable as the disgusting drug lord yet his shameless tribe man worshipping tribe still support him.

Rusted roof and slum dwellers will always want to die on top Igbo issues. What concerns those in the waste with what happens in the SE and SS?

They behave like witches and that’s why they’ve remained the most backward region in Africa. Imagine people that dwell in slum settlements.

I understand the hate is real but too much hyping, boasting attracts envy and jealousy just as Prof Chinua Achebe mentioned in his last novel 'There was a country' we should learn how to manage our success with maturity. We should rather be advertising and projecting Aba in more positive way for investors to take advantage of current situation of 24/7 electricity in Aba.Peace!

And where exactly did I boast or try to bring others down? If you haven’t noticed, a particular set of Nigerians always get envious and angry anytime there is signs of progress in the East. Trying to hide your potentials instead of projecting it for investors to key in is cowardice, especially when you do it because you don’t want to offend some people.

This project isn’t even from FG, so what exactly are you scared of?

Keeping Aba in the news for the right or positive reasons is what Igbos should be doing. There has been decades of bad news about Aba, so the city needs all the positive news it can get to override that!

If Peter Obi had won na so dey go dey buy enemies for him from far and wide with too much boating and noise.

Lol, Nigeria’s oppressive mentality is finally getting to you guys. They want Igbos to remain subdued and timid ones are already falling for it.

If Obi had won, it is not necessarily any boasting or whatever will make them to hate him or bring him down, but same hate they have for you since before independence. Do you think Obi will do 5% of the evil Tinubu has done without the same North and west conniving to bring him down just like they did to Jonathan?

Stop trying to be timid to impress who will never like you regardless.

Now that the massive chains holding back the great elephant has been broken, the Enyimba city is about to assume the greatness it was destined to be.

Smart people are already making moves and positioning themselves and their assets/investments so they could benefit from the expected windfall.

When Ngozi Okonjo Iweala visited Aba, alongside the then Wolfensing, the two world renowned economists were shocked to discover that Aba was no different with the Asian tigers in terms of productivity and skills. However, unlike the Asians, Aba was suffering from gross infrastructural decay which frustrated their output. NOI then met Barth Nnaji and they discussed how Aba could be provided with 24/7 electricity, outside the ubiquitous & redundant national grid. Barth Nnaji, one of Nigeria’s greatest engineers took up the gauntlet. Despite decades of sabotage to frustrate the project by enemies, Barth Nnaji persevered. Today, Aba has taken away Nigeria’s shame of being a generator republic. At least, we can now argue that some places in Nigeria enjoy 24/7 power supply!

The number of containers leaving Onne seaport to Aba and other parts of East has witnessed an upsurge but it’s going to skyrocket soon. P.H is going to reap massive windfall from Aba.

Aba skyline is going to change in just 16 years from now. Don’t be shocked when you see bulldozers demolishing 4 storey buildings along Azikiwe road or other roads in main town to pave way for 12 storey blocks of flats. Neither should you be surprised when you see 20 storey hotel being built around the city. If Aba people could have the courage to build 5 storey residential apartments with epileptic power supply & no lifts, what do you think will happen now that there is 24/7 power supply? Your guess is as good as mine!

The first three pictures is Aba 2024.
The last picture is how Aba is going to be in 2040.

Lol, the number of yorubas working in companies in Aba will shock you. Back in the early 2000’s, after my WAEC, we used to go to industrial layout to look for manual labor work and I know the uncountable number of yorubas I usually meet. Unilever, Nigerian breweries, Pfizer, Niemeth, Vitafoam and many other factories were located there. Now, that’s just one industrial estate in Aba, there were others at Osisioma, Eziama etc.

Aba has always been among the most industrialized cities in Nigeria. I guess it’s going to witness a boom now.

Site your Hotels, Fastfoods Restaurants, Factories etc in Aba and you won't have anything to do with running cost on dieseling and servicing your soundproof generator and thereby making more profit.

No loud am bro. Smart investors are already moving their production plants to Aba en mass. Do you know what constant and relatively cheap power supply can do to any business?

Same thing I’m wondering, my brother.

We set up something like this, and the first thing we think of is to fill it up with foreigners.

What about our own people?

How will they grow?

When the Chinese and Indians set up these facilities in their countries, they don’t look for foreigners to fill up the place. It’s for their own local industries and business people.

Lol, you talk like it’s not Igbos here. We take competition to others in their home turf and win them hands down yet you believe we can’t compete with Indians in our own land?

No country or region in the world can truly become an economic giant by doing it alone. Even China that once closed its borders had to eventually open it and that was when they became the most enterprising and most economically prosperous nation in the world. We need the Chinese and Indians to come and invest while we watch and compete in any areas we can.

We are not oftenmanu people that will live in slums and do agbero while outsiders dominate everywhere .

Yoruba man rest, go get your information right before you disgrace yourself.

The project covers 9 LGAs not 7. It needs 100MW to be FULLY powered, the excess 88MW will be offloaded to the national grid. So, we have extra 88MW to cater to new industries and again the plant is upgradable to over 500MW.

Geometric is not waiting for gas. It already built a 27KM gas pipeline to supply it from Owaza.

It’s really a comic relief watching them exhibit their hate and bigotry for all Nigerians to see.

Although it would have been better to ignore them considering how naive and ignorant they sound. However, the arrogance they exude even in mind-boggling idiocy ought to be punctured otherwise they will deceive gullible people.

The only saving grace of Geometric was that he completed the project at the time electricity bill has already been passed. Lagos govt does not need to generate power itself, investors, communities, individuals, companies, tertiary institutions would do that. ignorant folks should pick up the bill and read.

Aba is already off the national grid and has become Nigeria’s first modern city to enjoy 24/7 power supply yet this boy said it’s not worth celebrating and in the same breath saying that Lagos will achieve same in the future😂😂

I repeat, your ignorance is quite disturbing and you keep disgracing yourself and whatever you represent. So, an independent power plant that uses gas is not good enough? Gas Nigeria has in abundance, particularly Igboland? Do you know what it means to have an IPP in Aba and huge gas reservoirs just a few miles away? What other sort of power generation could be more viable than that?

You said no sensible state will use IPP now they have full control of power generation and distribution, so can you tell us what they would use? Please tell reasonable Nigerians what your states will build that won’t be IPP? If you fail to do that then you’re sick and should be totally ignored.

TopBanter:

IPP are not required anymore. Gerrit? Where do you see IPP being default electrification solution in nations of the world that had not boxed itself into a corner like Nigeria did with centrist government control of processes the FG should have deregulated decades ago to place in the hands of direct stakeholders and end-users i.e Nigerian States and people?

No sensible State will use IPP now that they have full control of generation, transmission and distribution of power which means they can devise comprehensive power solutions for a whole State instead of have cumbersome IPP schemes all over the place.

Just swallow your pride. IPP is not and cannot be in the mind of ambitious Nigerian States led by ambitious leaders given how the power sector is fully and completely deregulated today.
