And for anyone that would ever consider India as a place to go and hustle or even do any economic activity, I’m really sorry for you in advance. |
Since I saw deep and massive poverty in India, I have been questioning how Nigeria is called world’s poverty capital and not India. The sort of destitution, filth and backwardness I encountered in India, is something I have never seen in my life. No where in Southern Nigeria has this sort of destitution. Although, I haven’t gone beyond Abuja to experience the extent of poverty there. If Northern Nigeria is the single reason why Nigeria is called poverty capital of the world and they have more destitute than what I saw in India, then we have a disaster in our hands. For those who have been to North west and North east, is the situation over there that bad to be worse than India ![]() |
Easternmind:The decline actually began in 2015 when Buhari took over and has now worsened terribly under Buhari. APC is a disaster that destroyed our economy and Tinubu is the number one person to blame. |
The disgusting drug lord and his band of primitive tribalistic supporters really destroyed Nigeria. It will take a while before this country will recover from the damage they did. |
The most useless and disgusting set of people are the primitive bigots supporting Tinubu. Everything about them is tribalism and bigotry. |
igwebuike01:Don’t mind that bigot. The funny thing is that what they use in Ibadan are rickety gwura gwura mini buses and all manner of Kabu-kabu. |
igwebuike01:The picture below is somewhere in New Delhi. This is how I expect Aba to be looking like at night. With 24/7 electricity, modern features like neon lights, high rises and glass front shops should become common in Aba.
|
Does anyone still take these fools serious? Just look at how dum.b and clownish the guys looks with that stupid spectacle on his face. The only minister of power Nigeria has had since 1999 was Barth Nnaji, the rest from Fashola to this confused guy were all totally useless. |
I like the way it’s the same Yorubas that are condemning the foolish old man. Otherwise, Tinubu and his band of bigots would have turned it into another Igbo vs. Yoruba tribal issue. Tinubu is the worst vermin that happened to happened to Nigeria. |
Aba is really poised to become great again. I see that city becoming Nigeria’s most industrialized and most commercialized in the coming years. Meanwhile, that express axis should be the new CBD. Now that electricity supply is available 24/7, I don’t see any reason why high rises shouldn’t dot that axis. |
nedekid:If only you’re educated enough to understand basic economics, it wouldn’t have shocked you. Truly truly education is not scam😩 |
ANSMEDIA:The mistake you people are making is thinking that economy starts and ends with buying and selling. Owerri/Imo has something that Anambra does not have, and that’s packaging and creating an economy that attracts elites. 9 out of 10 educated Anambra people won’t like to stay in the state if they can help it. Aside Abuja, Lagos and to an extent P.H, no city in Nigeria attracts elites than Owerri and that’s a fact. Do you know how much those elites that are always in Owerri spend in those hotels, clubs, bars etc? Can you build luxury businesses in Anambra? No! But you can build luxury businesses in Owerri and it will thrive. For a city to have so many big hotels, bars, restaurants and malls yet they are all thriving at the same time, what do you think it’s the reason? Imo state has always been the largest economy in the SE even before the onset of massive gas exploitation. You’re the one deceiving yourself. |
ANSMEDIA:Nigeria has 36 states, but you guys always limit yourselves to unnecessary dik measuring with SE. What sort of local champion mentality is that? You brought a list that showed Edo having almost double of Anambra figures yet you brought it as exhibit. Does it then mean that Edo economy is twice that of Anambra since they have almost double the deposits? Isn’t that what your logic is about? |
ANSMEDIA:Before throwing up this stupid list, did you even check it to see that Edo is almost double that of Anambra? You have no problem showing how Edo is far ahead of Anambra in money deposit as long as it gives you something to latch on against Imo state? When will you guys grow up and stop being so petty and childish? What a shame. |
ANSMEDIA:Did he mention Anambra? No! Did he mention South East? No! Yet, you are here again with another childish and clannish dik measuring. It really smacks of inferiority complex. SMH. |
Abagworo:You’re absolutely right. The standard of living in Imo state is relatively high, only Lagos, Abuja and P.H can compare to it. The volume of hotels, malls, high class restaurants, clubs, bars and boutiques etc already proves this. Also, check the volume of flights in Nigeria and you will see Owerri coming 4th behind Lagos, Abuja and P.H. Many rich Igbos who stay in the East prefer to live in Owerri than anywhere else, even Enugu is gradually being displaced by Owerri as Igbos premier city. Imo state governors are short sighted, otherwise they would have focused on giving Owerri a vibe that will attract more elites to live in the city. However, with the aggressive commencement of gas exploitation in Imo state, the state is poised to soar even higher. |
hammer567:Well, it needs to be very close to Aba. If it’s not closer to Aba than Imo airport that is in Owerrinta, then it’s not worth it. |
Ttipsy:These idiots called Nigerian politicians should stop being stupid. There is no other place in the world where they still build roads with open gutters, except Nigeria and some other unfortunate West African countries. Gosh, the money these bastards steal is enough to cover all gutters and plant trees. |
OBTMOS:Well, it depends on what you’re doing in a foreign country that will determine if you’ll be called expatriate or immigrant. You can’t be washing dishes or mopping floors and expect to be called an expatriate 🤪 I’m in one of the Asian countries and I’m called an expatriate. It’s written in my contract documents and I earn far above what the locals earn. Meanwhile, that Chinese murderer must never be allowed to go free. It’s quite shameful that Nigerian soldiers are the ones protecting him. It’s due to inferiority complex, if it’s their own country, the soldiers will tactically release the murderer to mobs and allow them to kill the guy. |
A terrible and worthless combination. What is Ribadu’s credibility? Nothing tangible! Fashionable tried in Lagos, anyone can try in Lagos anyway. However, he was made a minister and he failed woefully. Why would anyone even think of another Yoruba man as president? What sort of greediness and crass insensitivity would that be ![]() ![]() |
PresidObi:Not exactly true. I have seen lots of so-called cities in South west and other places in Nigeria, they’re just crowded slums. So, it’s not about lack of people but rather twin factors such as poverty and lack of taste. |
Splashme:Igbos have got taste and class, no dispute about that. When I see lots of fine buildings scattered around some areas in Owerri only for the roads to lack side walk, covered drains and trees/flowers, it pains me. Places in new Owerri will instantly look like abroad if only the stupid state government could provide those basic things. |
Taigaban:Lol, first in history in Akwa Ibom my dear. There exists lots of public schools in Rivers and Anambra that look more or less like this. If you’re saying you can’t find such public schools in the South west or North, I will agree but SS and SE? No! You need to travel and see. |
Golan007:Ottih is far better than all your governors combined. What he has done and continues to do is beyond building just one school. Pray to have a great man like Ottih as governor because his kind is very rare. |
GloriousGbola:Is this the justice the foolish Babatunde Irukera was hyping about? This is rather injustice and a mockery. Truly, journalism is dead in the country, just like most other things. Spit! |
Digitron:What the hell, is that the dust bowl? The scenery looks like Dafur region🥱 |
Fubara na smart guy, dude now has both Ijaws, Igbos and Ogonis on his side. Where Wike want get support again take fight am? Fubara will thoroughly humiliate him to the point he will be afraid to step foot into Rivers in the months to come. |
Enskynelson:Rivers people should back Fubara and stone Wike if he dares to bring his nuisance value to the state. That dude with his disgusting behavior irritates me. You ruled for 8 good years, yet still wants to continue dictating affairs of the state. Is Rivers state a monarchy? Wike is even supposed to be the “governor” of Abuja yet FCT is not enough for him. Did he bury his umbilical cord in the Brick House ![]() How the hell do we keep tolerating all these rubbish for God’s sake? |
dejonathan:It will not affect anything. The reason why we keep having this issues in the first place is because most Nigerians are misguided. What the hell is a former governor still fighting for after completing his term of 8 years Do you think all these rubbish we keep tolerating in Nigeria happens in saner climes![]() Someone like the drunk called Wike ruled Rivers state for good 8 years, yet he wants to keep controlling the governor and by extension the state! That’s the height of greed and selfishness. That’s why I like Igbos, such stupidity doesn’t happen in the East. You can ask those governors that tried it and how it ended for them. The reconciliation of Wike and Fubara will bring nothing good to the state, but will rather worsen corruption. The people of Rivers should back Fubara and stone Wike if he dares to bring his stupidity to the state. He already has a task as minister of FCT, something akin to being a governor, yet the greedy drunk is not satisfied. Spit! |
Instead of worrying about poor infrastructure, corruption, hunger and other terrible problems bedeviling Nigeria, it’s feud between useless politicians that is your problem ??SMH. |
Pennilessword1:You were absolutely right on the part that Abike Dabiri wouldn’t do anything. They never even bothered to respond to the mail. Anyways, the issue has been resolved. https://www.nairaland.com/8093168/indian-consulate-released-visa-after#129968094 |
