My recent issue with PayPal remittance since over one year now has really highlighted the fact that Nigeria is still unwelcome among the business circles a abroad. Why can't I repatriate my PayPal funds with the legitimate local banking instruments that I currently have? Why go through so much proxies to get just a few USD into my local coffers? I have also tried using the small USD to buy things on Amazon, AliExpress but neither supports PayPal payments because I'm Nigerian. I'd have expected the Commmunications & Digital economy minister to get to work fixing this menacing issue. Nigeria should not be blacklisted by global businesses just because a couple of boys have made cyber fraud their mainstay. We should all be able to trade locally & earn globally without proxies, please. |
Bloomsvilledgit:Why'd I register a coy in UK because of small change? Why una like yeye talk like dis? |
TripleLTD:What percentage are we looking at & would it require giving up the account credentials? |
Paypal is simply useless to me at this point because I don't know what they want from me again! I've tried severally to access the small USD that I have there to no avail. I now have grey virtual USD that cost me 5K to create but can't transfer the funds there. I've tried to use the funds to purchase stuff on Ali Express, no luck! I need HELP! |
FIRS is going after Skit-makers, Content-creators & other digital-preneurs that have been smiling to the bank since various platforms have become tools for generating enormous amounts of wealth - many have made it a habit of flaunting these proceeds online without recourse... Now the FIRS, Nigeria's foremost tax collector, has finally woken up to this tax demography and hinted it's readiness to accommodate them into the tax bracket as meaningful contributors to the economy. Many of these creators earn globally while they work locally, most are actually quite successful at their trade. It however remains to be seen how the taxman will go about this without causing an uproar online over this move to suddenly tax their hard-earned incomes. |
iknowexperts:Is this really necessary in 2024 with all the NIN & BVN & PVC & all whatnots? I reaaly would not want to be bogged down by theis particular requirement when I need a particular service - will not be funny! |

Jobless Musings ~ when idleness was the only industry available to me... You can preview or buy my first effort at penning my musings on Amazon at: https://a.co/d/1VwL6pr Your very honest review is absolutely welcome! |
Trapped N2,000.00 Okadabooks has refused to pay me the 2K I put in my wallet years ago. Why? Anyways, that aside, the owner of Okadabooks should simply have looked for someone to buy the business from him, even if at some loss. I don't know why Nigerians do the things they do, really? I'm sure someone out there would have bought the business & made it work - even better. |
I've been battling with Grey to create a virtual USD account & card for ages now. Can I get a list of reliable fintechs that can do the job better than Grey, please? |
Wait! Hold up! I've got two thousand naira in my okadabooks wallet plus some body of work, I hope they've not disappeared? |
Orbit entered the luxury items category I understand but shouldn't disappear just like that. Some people, like myself, would pay premium for the item. |
Well, it has been one bottleneck after another, Grey has refused to create a USD account for me to even attempt getting the USD 225 out of PayPal, it's ridiculous! |
such a inspiring story of gritty doggedness in the face of heavy criticism and unnatural negativity; you continue to inspire many & all this is to your continuous evolution into the brand that never dies - more grease to your gears, power to your elbows |
TripleLTD:Sorry for taking this long but it seems the system is slowing me login now. I'll attempt to move the funds. If I fail, I'll let you know. |
TripleLTD:Ok, one moment please |
TripleLTD:It's just USD 225. And does not allow me login from Nigeria. |
I have been trying to get the Orbit Chewing gum from my go-to stores for over a month now and see other brans i really do not like. Who has any idea about where to get my favorite chewing gum, please?

profagbaje:\ My funds are still trapped in nthat SG paypal account, if you are in SG and a good Nigeiran, kind;y reach out. CAVEAT: There is nothing fraudulent or illegal about this. The money is from a ticket sale on StubHub, please. |
MrBrownJay1:Well, IT IS MY PAYPAL account that has legitimate funds from the sale of tha last FIFA WORLD CUP match tickets from STUBHUB. I had to create a SG paypal account using VPN because i couldn't get the money in my NG paypla account at the time. I hope this brings you some relief from your hasty conclusions, Sir? |
Honest Nigerian in Singapore needed to help get a few USD out of a legitimate PayPal account - with reward. |
I recently hit a milestone on the Cutie Garden app and wondering how to getthe cash out since my bank ios refusing to add my card to paypal? Suggestions, please. |
So I came across some of my old blogposts in the mid to late 2000's and found a ling to legwork.com.ng - an indigenous social media site that predated fabecook & was competing with eskimi & co at the time. Suddenly it disappeared and with it all the cool networks I'd formed at that time - so I'm wondering, what happened to LEGWORK.COM.NG? If you know the developers/owners, give them a shout. I found snapshots on the ghost machine -- archve.com & proof that I wasn't hallucinating when I recalled such a service ever existed.

The many, undeserving dead, Deserve national outpouring, Every single poor soul, Cut untimely from fame or fortune; No one soul is made more, Is worthier than the other, All came from the earth, And it hath the last say; So why demonstrate double standard, Roaring silence when calamity comes afishing, Abductions, medical neglect, ritual murders, Innocent blood shed wantonly daily? The transience of power is earth bound, Only the heavens will forever stick around, The sun rises on the day of reckoning, Be prepared, oppressor, your time is nigh. In commemoration of a black day in the history of Nigeria, young people express disappointment that after one year nothing has changed about the brutality of government against unarmed protesters exercising fundamental human right on 20-10-2020. The hypocrisy in high places is evident with the way government pampers terrorists and cracks down on peaceful demonstrators. The collective spirit of the people of state has defied all kinds of intimidation and continues to fight for a better nation-state that respects human life and makes living in Nigeria a permanent sweet experience. Child of necessity Born on a blanket of hope To a mother who can barely cope And a father who roams the city With so much tears Mother gathers a few rags together Prays fate will find one better To love him all his years Tempered by harsh realities of life Scavenging on scrapes and bits Grows leathery skin to survive the streets Each sunrise and sunset a renewed strife |
And Cain lifted his arm, And struck his brother, Abel, And the earth groaned in pain, And hate soaked the entire world. |
By Dada Olowo Eyo Monday, 15 June 2009 at 17:30 Posted on the now defunct "facebook.com/notes" When the two young boys rushed over to tell us that one of our friends had slumped we thought it was one of those false alarms or pranks young children play on adults. But little did we know it was the start to a very, very long twenty-four hours of major drama; because Bennett (not his real name) really had slumped and although the ladies around had taken off his jungle boots; green-ringed, white socks; seated him on a white, plastic chair; he was still too weak to even sit upright...or recognize any of us. Bennett arrived at the lodge around March, he and his colleagues tried as much as possible to adjust to the very hard conditions at the lodge. It turned out he would smoke at least a packet of cigarettes a day and drink quite often, too. On this particular day, a Saturday, I was just finishing my meal outside when Uche came around to sit on one of the make-shift bamboo seats; we exchanged pleasantries, talked about the just-concluded French open, ongoing Queens court warm up event and the upcoming Wimbledon grand slam. Bennett had just finished a bowl of "eba" and earlier an even bigger bowl of yams and eggs; he then went off. About thirty minutes later the boys rushed over. We carried him over to our side of the lodge and laid him on a bare mattress. Too weak to even respond to his name the girls made a concoction of milk and malt and I force-fed him. We took off his pants and made sure he had plenty of air. Later on one of the doctors at the lodge was called in and after a number of annoying calls to the authorities the infirm was rushed to the FMC. After much dust had settled we began to trace the origins of the almost fatal occurrence. Bennett had been courting a lady living there at the lodge and they had gone quite long. But something happened the previous day. He discovered his "toastee" had given an alternate number to a fellow called "Big boy" and he got to know about it. Coupled with his excessive smoking habit, heavy drinking and worrying, he went off in a mad rush that Saturday night to over-indulge himself and that resulted in his slumping. He's still at the hospital receiving treatment for a cacophony of ailments chief among which is dehydration--mostly as a result of too much nicotine and alcohol in his system. The doctors also say his heart has become fragile and has difficulty pumping much needed blood around his body. I would not go into the stories brought back by friends who accompanied Bennett to hospital. It would amount to washing our very dirty linen in public. Let us just say it was not pleasant. We pray for his speedy recovery. The question now is why should he take such matters of the heart (or love?) too deeply at and in such an environment where nothing lasts for more than one year anyway? A friend of mine, Blaze, a Counseling Psychologist, said he would talk to him when he is eventually discharged from hospital on how to handle such affairs. The lady in question has not been seen ever since and She, I do not think, would be willing to offer as much as a sigh when she hears of the incident. That’s what happened at the weekend of June 12, 2009. Now I ask: Should we love senselessly--only to die needlessly? |
