Thanks for the observation. I was referring to the Net foreign exchange reserve and not the gross foreign reserve as it was with the $5.5 billions OBASANJO met in 1999 .
Net Foreign Exchange Reserve provides a clearer picture of the portion of reserves that is readily available to defend the naira and meet external commitments.

Yes if you said so. The Net Reserve was around $3.5 billion in 2023 for a population of over 200 Million people. There was estimated $7billion forex backlog and many unfulfilled commitment to multilateral and Creditor organizations. There are hundreds of dilapidated and damaged roads and other. Infrastructure. Since 2022 some multinational and transnational corporations were leaving Nigeria partly because of inability to remit payment to home countries. Banks stopped foreign transaction on Debits Cards.

Fiscal and Monetary Policies finally collapsed in 2022 leading to the infamous introduction of cashless policy and Naira design changes when election was approaching early 2023.
Nothing works again and the economy collapsed.

Basically, from 2022 up till second and third quarter of 2023 we have many multinational and transnational Corporations leaving Nigeria. There are some Foreign Airlines that left Nigeria and about two stopped operations due to inability to remit money to home countries. There was estimated $7 Billion forex backlog which CBN cannot pay. There are commitment to multilateral organization and International Cooperations and Financial Institutions which CBN cannot fulfill.

Imagine a Diplomatic Agency in ABUJA and a very large donor agency with large foreign staff facing Financial crises in Nigeria due to cashless policies and new Naira notes denomination. Everything was in disarray. On official mission, Vehicles got stranded at filling stations. They rejected transfer and POS and demanded for Cash at filling stations. They bought 10,000 cash with transfer of 18,000 making us to transfer 54,000 to buy 30,000 naira cash. It got to a level, no cash again. There were problems with POS and Banks with failed transactions. Ambassadors, Counsellors, Charge d'Affairs and other Diplomatic officers were aware. They were observing events.

Now, since 2024, no multinational or transnational Corporations has left Nigeria, rather, hundreds of foreign companies are coming to Nigeria. Banks have started foreign transaction on Debit cards. POS everywhere are now functioning fully. There is cash at ATM and POS. Several roads projects are ongoing simultaneously with thousands of staff fully engaged.Most of these roads have been abandoned for decades.

The economy is now stabilized. When OBASANJO came to power in 1999 the country was in disarray. He met $5.5 billion in reserve with debts and bad infrastructure and economy.

The question you should have asked yourself is that why is the Yoruba always coming at a very critical point in the life of Nigeria?

I got to know Gaius Obaseki as the GM Crude Oil Sales Division when NNPC head office relocated from Lagos to rented apartments on Usuma Street, Abuja. He took over from Taiwo Idemudia who was posted to Warri Refinery as MD. By then Ode Okaisabor (rip) was alive. There were other NNPC big boys in the two buildings used on Usuma Street before NNPC Towers was completed. You have Oil & Gas big boys coming from abroad, Lagos and Portharcourt to visit the MD, Directors and GGMs .

The above unnecessary story was given as a preamble to what a young man on eavesdropping and observations mission observed. When Gaius Obaseki became MD of NNPC, he suspended the oil prospecting . He said NNPC had spent so much without positive results. There are lot of deals in Oil sector. I always heard people discussing about how many billions of dollars Nigeria and partners have spent to prospect for oil in the North for many years without success. Though that time Technology has not improved as it is now. Oli has not been discovered in Ghana and Niger Republic that time. I always wondered if billions of dollars have been spent in the North to prospect for oil for years without success, what stops them from investing the same amount of billions of dollars to prospect for oil in Ekiti, Osun, Ogun and Lagos State? The answer I got from a Technical Assistant to an Executive Director was that if there are commercially viable oil deposit in the South West, Investors would come. He said Chad Basin, Gongola Basin, Niger Basin, Benue Basin, etc hold large amount of oil and gas that can last for over 100 years. The Technical Assistant is from the North. That was when Dan Etete was Minister of Petroleum.

Baba Yinka Folawiyo took the risk of investing his lifetime resources to prospect for oil in offshore Badagry. He died in the process, his son continues until AJE Oil Field comes online. Now that Technologies have improved and oil is being found in different Africa countries, what stops those northerners with oil rigs in Niger Delta Basin from pulling resources together with their foreign partners supported by their State Government to develop Kolmani Oil Well?

Daily Trust should do editorials on how Northerners should develop Kolmani Oil Field.

This statement is exactly what Gumi said. We had a plane that belongs to a Nigerian but ended up in Iran. The owner said the plane went there for maintenance. The owner of the plane never knew CIA and Israeli Intelligence Agency are monitoring those planes .

There are US Military Base in some rich Arabian Countries but in West Africa Sahel Countries where poverty, diseases, illiteracy, terrorism and banditry are the order of the day, they don't want US military base . The reason is that US might be sympathetic to the course of Justice.

Terrorist are killing our traditional Rulers in ONDO STATE, killing our people in Kogi and Kwara, yet NSA claimed some of them want peace.

The US and Israel are just monitoring situations in Nigeria. They already have the information.

In my mind while under his Ministration, something told me contrary to his Prophecy, OBASANJO will become President in 1999. That has gone.

This Prophecy from the Primate has failed. He has never said anything good about Tinubu and none of his Prophecy had ever come to pass on Tinubu. The last Africa Cup of Nations, he gave a Prophecy against our Star Player, the Prophecy failed woefully. This shows the Forces of the gods Nigeria are against his Prophecy. His Prophecies have never come to pass on the person you had in mind. Despite all the Coffins buried since late 2022 and 2023 and the ones still being buried he is still alive.

In February 2022, I gave a prophecy that if the person you had in mind didn't die he would become the President in 2023. The battle was tough late 2023 and 2024. The battle was tough since last quarter of last year till few weeks ago.

That man had prophesied that Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey and some popular personalities would die during the military era, they are still alive today.

His prophecy during Africa Cup of Nations against our Star Player failed woefully to the extent Baba ADEBOYE made a Reference to his Failed Prophecy during Holy Ghost Service. For BABA ADEBOYE to have made a MOCKERY of his Failed Prophecy before millions of people worldwide means a lot in the Spirit Realm. She is the best candidate for Ogun State.

TINUBU is surrounded mainly by praise singers and mediocres apart from very few people. On nairaland here, I see a lot of them. Apart from Fayose, Fashola, Gbajabiamila and very few others I don't want to mention, the rest are fair weather followers and praise singers . One thing they realized is that Asiwaju rewards friendships and followership.

We need good governance and results. YAYI doesn't have anything to offer Ogun State. YAYI and Amosun are the same just as Gbenga Daniel and Dapo are the same. Just as it's very painful to Tunde Lemo and several OGUN STATE elites, it is very painful to me to see the State in such disarray and dilapidation and dirtiest state. Whenever you are moving on State road from Lagos to Ogun, immediately you entered Ogun State road, you will know. In some places, Lagos even tried to extend the roads.

We have had fire incidents along Lagos Ibadan Expressway, at the end, it was Lagos State Fire Service that saved the day.

David Umahi should report OGUN STATE to TINUBU. All the Drainages on Lagos Ibadan Expressway are filled with Wastes. Ogun State refused to provide Waste Disposal Sites, the wheel barrow pushers have turned the drainages, bushes and Rivers to waste disposal places. Initially, in some places, Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA) was coming with With Disposal trucks once in 3 months, later once in 6 months, finally, they erected big boards with inscription "Do not dump Wastes here, defaulter will be fined =N=100,000". They did this without providing alternative.

Industries everywhere in OGUN STATE but no Government presence, just tax and the effects of the Tax is not showing.

We need people like Pastor Tunde Lemo and Prof Iyabo OBASANJO to take over the state. We need to carry out developmental audit of governance. Lagos is full already. OGUN STATE needs Masterplan for economic prosperity of the South West.

Pastor Tunde Lemo may be compromised by pressure from those businessmen and socialite past governors. Prof OBASANJO is the best choice.

She had issues with her father because she was victimized by Yaradua Government because of her father. People who felt offended by OBASANJO while in power teamed up with Yaradua against OBASANJO's Ministers and appointees from South West. The issue she had as Chairman, Senate Committee on Health over the 20million naira or thereabout received from Ministry of Health under Prof Nike Grange for the committee visit to Ghana on official assignment was a great embarrassment. I witnessed Prof Nike Grange weeping profusely over the incident. There was no Ministry that didn't offer support to National Assembly committee on oversight.

They declared her wanted and sent Police to be looking for her everywhere under David Mark as Senate President. People know she was being victimized and embarrassed because they want to take the revenge of her father on her.

She is the best candidate for Ogun State. Silently, in my own little way I have been telling people that all hands must be on deck to ensure she becomes Ogun State Governor.

Something is missing in OGUN STATE. Nearly all the Governors are businessmen who came to use the State's resources to enlarge the Coast of their businesses. We have never had a good governor. They are all businessmen. Chief OSOBA is not a businessman but he is too political for developmental governance, even as MD of Daily Times he was more a politician than a Journalist, you can never tell where he belongs on any issue.

Despite huge IGR and allocation from Federal Government, you hardly see the output. Everywhere is dirty without Government presence . There are several Industrial cluster and Trade Zones in different parts of Ogun State. No Government presence.

There's no difference between Yayi and Amosun. There is no difference between Dapo Abiodun and Gbenga Daniel. They are all the same. I am aware out of the present frustrations, some Ogun State elites want Pastor Tunde Lemo a former CBN Deputy Governor and former Wema Bank MD to contest. He is a good choice, but I want Prof Iyabo OBASANJO to be given the support to become Governor. The past governors will lobby Pastor Tunde Lemo for a coverage and soft landing, they cannot try that with Prof OBASANJO.

Point of correction, 2023 wasn't the first time, we had MKO/Kingibe ticket in 1993. I believed it genuinely escaped his mind.

But of course, Nigeria being a religious country, religion played a huge role during the last election, especially culminating into the period wailers were everywhere shouting about "Islamization and fulanization" during Buhari's regime. That fear was even more exaggerated as we approached 2023 election.

I remember seeing lots of Pastors use their pulpits for heavy religious campaigns while a certain Gbajue took the advantage of turning almost all church altars in the country into political podiums.

Lots of APC Christian members in Benue, Plateau down to Bauchi and Adamawa angrily left the party. Today, they have all returned to APC in even larger number, seeing that President Tinubu genuinely loves all religion adherents equally with more Christian appointees holding more powerful and key positions in his Govt.

There's no way there will be a repeat of 2023, there's no way that religious-war fraud will use same old failed expired format again in 2027. That's why he had quickly run to meet his boss in the coalition of failures to beg and cry for VP slot.

Firstly, OBANIKORO never contributed anything to Tinubu's presidential ambition in 2023. Secondly, I believed he never made this statement because he knows what really happened in Lagos. He was alive in 2015 when OBA of Lagos invited the IBOS Chiefs in Lagos before the Governorship election based on non Indigenes population in Lagos. Thirdly, OBANIKORO was alive when Baba Jakande and Baba Jafojo (both Muslim) and Baba Bola Ige and Afolabi (both Christians) were governor and Deputy Governor. So is OBANIKORO telling us that it was because Obasanjo is a Christian and ATIKU is a Muslim that made Obasanjo to lose Lagos? Or was it because Shagari was a Muslim and Ekwueme was a Christian or because Baba Awolowo and Vice Presidential Candidate were Christians that made Awolowo won in Lagos.

You see, Tinubu should be blamed for OBANIKORO incoherency. When he was elevated to the membership of Governor Advisory Council (GAC) of Lagos, I protested against it. Is he under hallucinations that he doesn't know those who voted for his son under PDP in Obalende/Ikoyi LCDA were mainly non YORUBAS? What is the population of the Arabs in Dubai to the immigrants? If election were to be conducted between an Arab and Immigrant in Dubai there is no way an Arab can win.

APC should never allow his son to contest for House of Reps again. He should go and meet Bode George to sell Lagos to the immigrants.

Wike should be rewarded. Apart from God, it was Wike that made Tinubu to become President today. Mallam El Rufai contributed a lot also but lack of support from BUHARI Camp created a critical problem. Rivers State was the last resort that took Tinubu to the Presidency.

Wike's effort in 2023 is historical. Amaechi took APC machinery in Rivers State to fight Tinubu. The Rivers State APC addressed Press Conference thrice before the election telling the whole world that WIKE was planning to rig election in favour of Tinubu. Imagine APC in Rivers State making a broadcast against APC Presidential Candidate. That is a great betrayal. WIKE fought and won .

The results released by Humphrey Nwosu, the results from SDP and NRC situation rooms , the results with the Presidency which International Communities and Press have are the same and I have given you the breakdown.

Which 3 results are very close? Everybody knows ABIOLA won Anambra by narrow margin because Ezeife was the governor and Anthony Anenih (SDP Chairman)lobbied him.For ABIOLA to have lost Enugu, IMO, Abia and Rivers while winning Edo, Delta, AkwaIBOM, Cross River and even KANO means a lot.

The question I asked you is yet to be answered. If TOFA had won with IBO Vice President, what post would have been given to the YORUBAS?

I didn't study the results, I had the original unreleased results as at 1993.

In Anambra, it was Anthony Anenih, the SDP Chairman that lobbied Ezeife to deliver the 51% to 49% by force. Years after death of ABACHA, they brought manipulated figures of 52% to 48%. The original result was 50.8 against 49.2. ABIOLA lost Enugu, IMO, Abia and Rivers before Bayelsa was created. This is the period the IBOS dominated Rivers.

TOFA is from KANO, ABIOLA won Kano but was very sad for losing RIVERS which ABIOLA considered very strategic in Nigeria. This is what WIKE fought with everything to liberate the IKWERRES from the IBOS. Tinubu winning Rivers is more historical than if he had won in Lagos. Remember, ABIOLA won Edo, Delta, AkwaIBOM and Cross River. He lost Enugu, IMO, Abia and Rivers.

Your question about if YORUBA were contesting as Vice President is inconsequential because Hausa / FULANI will give you the answer. YORUBA are not self centered. Ojukwu told ABIOLA that a Secretary is a man that serves his master Tea in the office. Ojukwu, Alex Ekwueme and others were having permutation of Shagari regime where the IBOS occupied the Vice President and Speaker while YORUBA have nothing. In 1993, the IBOS were already Speaker, House of Reps and Middle Belt was Senate President leaving President and Vice President empty, but the IBOS insisted on 79 to 83 era where the North was President and IBO occupied Vice President and Speaker leaving Yoruba with nothing. Yoruba don't think that way. The IBOS politics of appointing IBO as the First VC of UI and several years later appointing IBO as the VC of UNILAG. In the case of University of Lagos, when there was riots as people clamoured for the replacement of the IBO with YORUBA. The YORUBA Professor that was chosen was stabbed by a YORUBA Student in support of the IBO Vice Chancellor. The YORUBA Professor narrowly escaped death . That incident retained the IBO VC.

We witnessed how Baba Ayo Adebanjo and Doyin OKUPE picked OBI up when Tambuwal sent away from PDP to the Streets Politically.

Let me ask you a question, in 1993 if Tofa had won with his IBO Vice President, what post would be given to the YORUBAS since IBO was the Speaker House of Reps and the Middle Belt was Senate President already? I am waiting for your response.

Yes. Peter OBI is banking on the population of non Indigenes in ABUJA as it happened in Lagos (2023) where non Indigenes population is enormous. In 2015 before Governorship election, Oba of Lagos had to address their High Chiefs in Lagos because of their high population. This time around, they don't have the impetus of sleeping in shops or offices because of election and they are afraid the penalty of being caught moving during curfew might be severe as battle for 2027 has begun. They have lost hope as far as 2027 is concerned, initially, they were waiting for America intervention, but now, that hope is dashed. Majority of them (90%) will not vote in 2027. They are just waiting for crises and praying against Tinubu. Their Prayers have failed woefully and returned back against them.

In United States of America they have two major Political Parties apart from minor political parties. Republican Party and Democratic Party are great and major institutions of Governance in United States with impacts that covered United States and several countries globally.
International Republican Institute (IRI) and National Democratic Institute (NDI) while formally Non Partisan as NGOs funded by USAID, looking deeply, one can see the impact of IRI and NDI to propagate Democracy globally.

Political party must be organized and managed professionally.

Political Parties going into an election is like Armed Forces going into War or like an Engineering Company going into major project. An Engineering Company going into a major project must have Project Management Office for that Particular project. Armed Forces going into War must have Operation monitoring Office with different names as needed. We were at the All Progressives Congress, APC National Situation Room in Abuja to monitor the just-concluded FCT Area Council Elections, working closely with key leaders of our party. The exercise was coordinated by the Chairman of the FCT Area Councils Elections Monitoring Committee, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, alongside the National Chairman of our great party, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.

Also present at the Situation Room was Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, former APC National Chairman and former Governor of Kano State. From the situation room, we received real-time updates from our agents across the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory.

Our engagement throughout the exercise reflected the importance we attach to credible, transparent, and peaceful elections, as well as our commitment to strong grassroots democracy and effective party coordination.

"Leading operators; MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, Globacom and T2 Mobile urged the National Assembly to rely on verified data from the industry regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

The country’s network coverage was sufficient to support electronic transmission of polling-unit results to the electoral commission’s portal and collation centres ahead of the 2027 general election.

“As we speak today, over 70 per cent of the country is covered by 3G and 4G networks, 5G has reached about 11 per cent coverage, while the remaining areas are on 2G. Even in reality, 2G is strong enough to transmit results electronically. We cannot accept a blanket ban on electronic transmission based on half-truths about our infrastructure and investments."

The position aligned with that of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which previously dismissed similar concerns before the 2023 elections, maintaining that uploaded results would transmit automatically once devices enter areas with network coverage.

As I have said few days ago when this information was posted on nairaland, Engr Gbenga Adebayo might have been misquoted. I am very aware that INEC is a CASH COW to several organization in Nigeria and their time to make the cool billions have come but because of money they should not give Nigerians false data.

As I said few days ago, when Engr Gbenga Adebayo was the General Manager of Victoria Garden City Communications few years ago, it operated in some parts of Lagos Island, the services got degraded in some places to 70% before it was acquired by MTN. Now as the Chairman of Communication Network Support Services Limited, apart from contact centre which is office based, the network infrastructure field engineers know the problems associated with fibre cables damages on our major roads in Nigeria. Obsolete and damaged fibre cables littered everywhere creating nuisances everywhere. Those of us that have been NOC Manager or members of NOC Team know problems associated with fibre damages. You have to use redundant paths or use another route with impact on service level agreement. Engr Gbenga Adebayo is only being a businessman.

Few days ago, Nairametrics gave us a report from NCC that Fibre damages in January 2026 is up by 900% . If fibre damages data from NCC has increased by 900% in January 2026, how come you are saying you have capacity for real live transmission? INEC has tried this previously, there were chaos and frustrations in many places. In US, electronic live transmission has never been 60% successful.

Microwave Radio communications links have several problems. MTN migrating from ATC to IHS and the proposed acquisition of IHS is mainly because of Service Level issues.
Starlink can be used as backup but this doesn't guarantee 100% service level. In US, despite millions of fibre cables that were sunk decades ago, Starlink is being used in many places, this doesn't guarantee 100% service level performance.

Beyond Telecom Infrastructure is the issue of network security and integrity. ICT infrastructure is subjected to hackers attack to compromise the information. Hundreds of bombardment per minute on INEC Servers can overwhelm the Servers and create bottleneck giving the hackers chance to manipulate the information. Moreover, in Political associated ICT installations, no security measure (Administrator / SuperUser / Installer password, Tokens, Keys, etc) is fully secured.

This is the reason NAIRALAND have been deleting critical information I posted and ban me. I hope this wouldn't be deleted as usual.

You just spoke my mind. When MTN started migrating from ATC, I also thought it had to do with America relationship with South Africa. Federal Government should allow the deal to sail through. MTN is eminently qualified for the acquisition without any impact on national security.

In Court of Law , it is not only during interrogation in a sitting Court that whatever you say can be taken as an evidence against you. Mallam El Rufai has made a statement that is already an evidence against him. It is left for him to name the person that tapped the line. DSS needs an information from him through Court of Law. DSS has never accused him he tapped NSA line, therefore they don't need to prove that. They are only working on what he said.

You are right that's why anytime there was an election people will start to post fake results on nairaland and other social Media platforms. Also, some news media will also post fake results on their website. The authentic results are usually the ones released by INEC from Collation offices.

What losers want is to create a legal ground for the propagation of false results using different channels and to insist those fake results are the authentic results thereby creating chaos and crisis.

Social Media information may have been twisted. What was reported may not be what Engr Gbenga Adebayo said. The only truth reported is that he referred them to NCC. Engr Gbenga Adebayo should have known that based on experiences the Senate would have contacted NCC and NITDA and other stakeholders before taking this decision.

From previous elections, the network infrastructure inadequacies and obstacles were clearly revealed. This is just one aspect. The network integrity and security are of utmost concern.
