The reclaimed land area called Eko Atlantic used to be undisturbed SOLID LAND back in the 1950s but gradually got submerged into the sea. A lot of the younger folks criticizing Eko Atlantic don't even know this FACT. They WRONGLY assume that the land was sand filled but in actual sense, it's the sand on the ocean floor that had been submerged that was dredged back up to the surface with advanced equipment to reclaim the original lost land that existed back in the 1950s and before that era. Eko Atlantic was then fortified round with shoreline protection or water barriers to withstand the most severe kind of ocean surges in the near future. It's truly an iconic project.

Later, before reclamation, after Naval Dockyard, just immediately after Oceanography School junction, half of Ahmadu Bello way had been taken. From Best Western Hotel or former IMB plaza you can see the Ocean.

All the opposition to the project is because of Atlantic City, Lekki Deep Seaport and access route to Dangote Refineries. Majority of those who are attacking this Coastal highway construction are from the South East and one of them bluntly revealed what's hurting a lot of them by blurted out that the road should have passed through the Ibo South East.

The fact is that this Coastal highway construction had already been planned for decades by previous Nigerian goverments with Jonathan and Buhari bringing the project to public knowledge, BUT the President Tinubu administration kick-started it in order to accelerate the opening of a third economic road and rail link since the North and West are connected already, the North and East are connected, therefore there is an urgent need to connect the South of South states and the West of Nigeria together to complete the road linkages for accelerated development of communities and stimulation of commerce.

Many of these uninformed critics here also do NOT realize that the reclaiming of the land that had disappeared into the ocean to form Eko Atlantic City HELPED to protect the entire Victoria Island from disappearing under water. If Eko Atlantic had not been built to act as a BUFFER, Victoria Island would have been gone due to severe climate change issues. On Atlantic City, you are a bit wrong sir, it is not only VI that would have been submerged by Atlantic Ocean, it is the entire VI, Lekki and Ajah.

The Bar Beach close to my base encroached over 2 kilometers to the main road of Ahmadu Bello way with ocean surge threatening VI, Lekki & Ajah. The only solution was for those fighting TINUBU to put stones and rocks as ocean breakers and later gave a forecast that Atlantic Ocean would submerge the entire VI, Lekki Ajah. At this point most people were vacating and the environment almost dead.

When the Ocean and the breaker took half of Ahmadu Bello way leaving only portion of the dual carriage way, we deserted our buildings. Before this period Tinubu had recommended solutions but FG claimed ownership of the Ocean until it became aggravated and worsened. It was the courage and resilience and foresight of Tinubu that created the Atlantic City and the new Lagos. While Tinubu was looking for solutions, OBASANJO in Abuja said Lagos is a JUNGLE.

Ever since this Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway Project was announced on FACEBOOK, some International Highway Civil Engineering Companies have been advertising their highway projects targeting Africa. African countries have now started to display the super highways, road networks, new high-rise, towers and new cities development in their countries. It created Africa countries development index on Facebook and other Social Media. Most Africa countries are already aware of this project.

Peter Obi is right. The so called coastal highway from Lagos- Calabar is a huge project such as which Nigeria has no history of completing. That is why they started constructing from Lagos axis, just to ensure that Lagos is completed before the 8years or 4 years tenure elapses. I settled for Atiku Abubakar. Some of the reasons were he worked hard for the project, he never indicated interest in the job to me, he had worked closely with Shehu Yar'Adua and Shehu never passed any adverse comment on him,he had been elected as a Governor which already put him on the pedestal to move up politically, but he had been short- changed in the election that would have put M.K.O.Abiola in power, and he seemed to have some national outreach.
What I did not know, which came out glaringly later, was his parental background which was somewhat shadowy, his propensity to corruption, his tendency to disloyalty, his inability to say and stick to the truth all the time,a propensity for poor judgment, his belief and reliance on marabouts , his lack of transparency, his trust in money to buy his way out on all issues and his readiness to sacrifice morality, integrity, propriety truth and national interest for self and selfish interest.
May be some of these traits and poor attributes are not easy to see until you work with the person concerned. And those who should tell would keep quite so that they would not be accused of running others down .
For instance until later, when a distinguished chief from Bauchi pointed out to me the value of pedigree, queried Atiku's pedigree and blamed me for making a wrong choice, I did not pay attention to Atiku's parental background.

Furthermore until all efforts to help Atiku change had failed- and having stumbled upon a report of inquiry carried out on him- I asked one of my predecessors why he did not inform me of how bad the report was and he said that he thought I knew.

Atiku is a FRAUD and you are one of his accomplices. I think Prof Pat Utomi can see what is happening. When I left nairaland (babaolofin) I promised never to return but some people forcibly brought me here during Presidential yacht misinformation and later on this project because of Senator Ningi's allegation. I observed Prof Pat Utomi joined in the budget padding discussion which Obidient people started rather than faced the crux of the matter raised by Ningi. I had said Prof Pat Utomi as an intellectual ought to know that Ningi's allegation is mainly because of the Lagos Calabar Highway Project announced by Umahi and the release of FG Counterpart funding for the first section of the project. Senator Ningi listed major projects in the North which he said are abandoned and never mentioned any project in the South (Southwest and South South) .

I will remind you that Lagos Ibadan expressway is less than 150km and Tinubu government in less than one year through David Umahi has been everywhere on projects despite a bastardized economy he inherited. More importantly, you said Tinubu cannot finish the road and any Northern government will abandon it. Is that not how Yaradua killed OLOKOLA LNG project started by OBJ?

The main thing is that Atiku believes he owns Nigeria with his co-travellers. Atiku fought OBJ as a VP. Jonathan and Osinbajo were just like errand boys to their principals. I will stop on this for now.

Why didn't he invite Amaechi to come and defend Rail project to Maradi? He should have invited Kyari to come and defend Ajaokuta Kaduna Kano pipeline project. Billions of dollars spent to prospect for oil in the North for 4 decades should be probed by Atiku. The 16 years of Atiku's INTEL Logistics deals at the Seaports during Obasanjo and Yaradua Jonathan government should also be probed . Atiku never played opposition when Nigeria was being impoverished with dubious Maritime deals, Petroleum (oilfields and crude oil) deals, Defence and Security Contracts deals because they own Nigeria. It is their birthright.

Yaradua Jonathan did not save one Kobo as president and spent estimated $25 billion dollars out of the money ($60 billion) Obj left . OBJ met $5.5 billion in the reserve as at May 29, 1999 and left $60 billion in 2007 after paying debt. Jonathan still borrowed. Everything was looted. Atiku never said anything. Less than one year Tinubu government cleared a forex backlog of 7 billion dollars.

Where was Atiku during Buhari government? I remembered he played opposition by being the father of the bride during Buhari's daughter wedding. It is now very clear when IBB said he was threatened not to handover to ABIOLA.

Till date we are all witnesses to the quality of these projects.

Obasanjo trusted Yaradua on Sango Otta and Abeokuta road and OLOKOLA LNG project he was disappointed. Atiku should not allow himself to be used against this project as it is already too late for him.

I settled for Atiku Abubakar. The statement released by Ningi was not dissected by some foolish people and politicians from the South. I am highly disappointed with Pat Utomi. Ningi listed his anger against the Presidency as being partial against the bloc he represented in the Senate and listed the projects in his bloc that the presidency left unattended. This is mainly because of this project. Ningi's insinuation of double budget has nothing to do with padding but on partiality against his bloc and his people. The scenario which they said happened under Jonathan. If it was true it happened under Jonathan South West never benefitted from such special budgetary allocation.

Thank God, Nigeria is collecting the Chinese loan to execute the rail project to Maradi and other projects even if they have no immediate benefit to the entire Nigeria and Rate of Return on the investment is estimated to be non-existent and payback period dependent on the resources from the South.

Immediately Dave Umahi announced this project, some of us had expected indirect assault few months later, but it came out few days later from Ningi.

Rear Admiral Alfred Diette-Spiff was the governor of Rivers State during the Gowon era. He bought this yacht so that he and his Executive Council could stay on it when they were visiting the creeks of the state. It was called the Ogina Bereton.

The Murtala Muhammed Administration believed that the yacht was too luxurious, so they converted it into a presidential yacht and training ship. It was renamed Ruwan Yaro.
