Romance / Re: Guys Pls Who Will You Marry Of This Two? by 19656762: 6:47pm On Aug 16, 2012
obongproff: Guys, pls what do you think of this kinda situation? If there are two ladies in your life, say Miss A and Miss B. You are crazy about Miss A but Miss A only has feelings for you and is attracted to you. Then there is Miss B whom you have feelings for you and are attracted to. But Miss B is totally crazy about you. Which of these two will you take to the aisle, since you can't "polygamise"? Bearing in mind that both of them are cute.

Humourous and stupid comments are also welcomed.

I had better be the one crazy...

Jarus: Working with my boss in officeat past 5pm closing time, when I had booked my 6pm flight to Ilorin to go see her. 5:15pm, my boss still hadn't released me. Scratching my head, I pretended as if I was going to the convenience, shut down down my system, switched off my phone so boss wouldn't be able to reach me, dashed to the elevator, leaving my bag behind in office, took bike from VI thru 3rd mainlaind bridge to catch my 6pm flight from MMIA to Ilorin. I risked my job and my life(bike on Third mainland bridge) for her, but she wasn't my eventual wife.

That's the most silly thing I did for love.

Bros, I bin respect you b4 oh...

For say dem sack you nko?

There was a day I was on my way to see my girl friend and there a petrol tanker had an accident leaving all the 33,000 litres it was carrying to pour on the road and people were turning back because of the fear of the unknown but for me I never even saw the risk I just kept moving. When I got to her and flashed back I was like am I MAD.

Silly things ehn...Back then in school, my girlfriend had some millions in her account, and to prove my love for her, I used my only 30k (home, abroad, life savings!) to buy her a Nokia phone. Well, we broke up a week later and till date, I wonder if I was crazy. Soaked garri consistently for a month because of that singular act.

Bleep love!
Career / Re: Any Hope With 3.49 CGPA? by 19656762: 7:27am On May 19, 2012
Okoya: All my efforts ended with a CGPA 3.49..... what's
my fate in the market? Maybe I should just get a
transcript. This Is so painful. Please I need words
of encouragement.

Hahaha. Calm down bro. I was in your shoes some four years ago. Graduated with a 3.483 from a Federal University and I thought the world had come to an end. I tried the whole Masters thingy but it didn't work. A little patience, self development and and eye for opportunities and today I'm proud I work for a multi-national FMCG coy. Infact, I just moved from one to another and the pay is something most of my colleagues with better grades would not dream of in a few years to come.

Did I know anyone? NO! But I kept pushing myself because I knew I didn't make a 2.1 due to laziness and not lack of intelligence. The truth is, most employers have come to realise that there are people with a 2.2 that are smart and proactive and would get the job done better than others with better grades.

When I was interviewing at where I currently work, there was this dude with a 1st class from one of these private unis and during our group discussion (part of the assessment) he could barely contribute. The assessors were clearly disappointed.

My point is this- 1st class, 2.1 or 2.2, you determine where you end up. Giving up at this stage is the worst thing you could do to yourself. Engage your mind. Study for aptitude tests, read articles, expand your knowledge base. If you get a low-paying but flexible job, take it, but keep looking out for that big kill. Working, no matter how small the company may be would expose you and you will learn things you may never learn if you had enrolled in a masters program.

I'm not saying you shouldn't consider a masters. All I'm saying is that there is no surety that you will get a job after that. If it's convenient for you, fine. But work experience would be better.

Just my two cents!
