Nairalanders should check this out. This is my first time tho, so your criticism is highly welcome.
Who can tell, Of the sufferings of those battling with breast cancer Or those who have lose their loved ones to this draconian devil. Like a thief in the night, Came the monster in form of lumps and bumps.
Who can tell, Of the various chemotherapy and its hitches and problems, Carried out by those battling with it.
Who can tell, The cuts, incisions and stitches, Lacerations of various forms, All in the fight against the ugly monster.
Who can tell, Of the loved ones we've lost, The eminent personalities we've lost to this monster. Olufunmi Olayinka,Sisi Caro and others.
Who can tell, Of the courage and resilience of the survivors who have win the battle against this devil, Prevention is better than cure, Examine your breasts for lumps, Early detection prevent the spreading of this monster, And if suspected, consult a qualified doctor. One day mankind will be able to defeat this ugly monster, For verily, there's light at the end of the tunnel.

MrEgghead: Over the past fours years, I've been a strong admirer and a follower of this thread..
Here, I met a lot of personalities whom their words had been a source of encouragement in my staunch pursuit for a place in the Medical school.
The founding fathers of this thread in Lagusta, Josh, Ashashacash, DrHesjay and a host of others with their constant contributions deserve mentions.
Bobola07, Historian, and many of whom I met on Ibadan's thread deserve mentions also. If I drop my former monicker, I believe many of you would accede with me that its been a long way coming.
I gained admission into a course I had never wanted but chose to accept it on the virtues of family pressure and the fear of being left behind by my friends but It was a decision I've cultivated ambivalent feelings about. I became a shadow of my old self, my results were nothing to write home about in my second year; I had many carry overs and this was as a result of jamb exam coupled with hatred for the path I've chosen, though I'll be done this year; my recovery was just God's grace.
But to cut the long story short, I've just been admitted into Medicine and Surgery by the University of Benin making me a full blown member of this thread and I dedicate this success to God and every member of this thread, Thanks and God bless you all. Congratulations Bro. |

OyedejiIfedayo: Hello. Pls I have a que pertaining to OAU, if a person don't meet up with the cut off for MBBS is it possible for such a person to bargain for a less competitive but inclined course, and later transfer back to Medicine.
Pls how advisable is this move. Once you don't meet up with the cut off, likely you end up in the faculty of Agriculture which is not inclined to Medicine. Also crossing over is noted easy even from biological sciences like Botany, MCB unless you have a very strong connection. |

neurojosh: hey bro...... I am an OAu student.. med and surge...
you have a good UTME score and a very good o'level result .. judging from last year's mode of grading you shd have abt 44% already not very sure since I don't know your grade in your fifth o'level subject.. last year's cut off was 76(for merit) .. so to meet up with that you need at least 32/40 in your post UTME... so aim higher than that...
and I will be glad to see you in ifeMedicine next session... Wow which level? |
