Oh! You already got the offer Earlier. What proceedings did you had with UC after the offer. Was your offer conditional.was your intended program BSc or msc .

This evening I just got an email from UC saying that my application has been rejected that I didn't fufill the GTE criterion here is what they sent to me and I realised I didn't fill the GTE form at all. I didn't because UC didn't ask me. Am shocked.



Your application to the University of Canberra has been assessed in accordance with Ministerial Direction 53<http://www.immi.gov.au/gateways/agents/pdf/direction-53-assessing-gte.pdf> and the University’s Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirements.

Under Ministerial Direction 53, the genuine temporary entrant criterion for Student visa applications requires the Minister to be satisfied that the applicant intends genuinely to stay in Australia temporarily, in regard to:
(i) the applicant’s circumstances; and
(ii) the applicant’s immigration history; and
(iii) if the applicant is a minor — the intentions of a parent, legal guardian or spouse of the applicant; and
(iv) any other relevant matter

The University of Canberra has conducted an in depth assessment of the student in light of the above and in respect to the information provided upon application. In this regard we wish to advise you that you do not satisfy the University’s GTE guidelines. Consequently your application to the University of Canberra has been withdrawn. We will not be progressing with an offer in this instance or at any time in the future.

The House of Representatives on Wednesday urged the Federal Ministry of Finance to suspend the planned increase of import duty on used and new vehicles.

The resolution emanated from a motion moved by Rep. Nathaniel Agunbiade (APC-Osun), which was adopted without debate. According to Agunbiade, the planned 70 per cent tariff will have a multiplier effect of 250 per cent increase on the value of the affected items, adding that it will definitely lead to higher prices of vehicles.

He noted that although Jan. 2014 had been set for the commencement of the policy, none of the assembly plants the policy sought to protect would have started production in the country. The legislator stressed that care must be taken not to bring too much pain on Nigerians, adding that the policy might encourage smuggling through the land borders.

The Federal Government, on Nov. 25, announced the planned increase of the import duty on used and new vehicles from the current 20 per cent to 70 per cent.
It could be recalled that the Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, recently directed that imported, fully-built unit (FBU) of cars shall now attract 35 percent duty and 35 percent levy, totaling 70 percent charges for both new and fairly-used vehicles.
