Password77: I disagree with dat Conclusion sir! Even those with Jamb admission letter had d same problem. If dat shld be d case, after having Jamb admission letter for dat sch, why wld Jamb again say they don't have their data which was d reason their names appeared on error list? I was told dat Jamb said they lost their database, if dat's d case, is there no back-up? Cos I believe strongly dat all schools cannot sideline Jamb @ the same time for several admissions, that means Jamb had been redundant all this while. I'm yet to see a sch without d problem of error list due to Jamb reg nmbr, can all schs be daft @ d same time? If all schools sidelined Jamb, why has Jamb not acted all this while? Wht if NYSC didn't come up with this policy this year? We wld have also graduated without having details with d official Admission Board of the country without knowing. Sme have graduated with this same issue without having knwledge of it. So wld they be told they gained admission, studied and graduated fraudulently or illegally cos their details can't be found with d Admission Board which they have no slight knwledge of, after going thru d due process? I blame Jamb for all this problem no matter wht. Even if the schools were wrong, they (JAMB) shld have taken d necessary measures to deal with the erring institution(s) right frm d very first year it happened so dat it won't recur. Now d innocent students r suffering for wht they never did or have knwledge of. I remain on my stance, it's corruption @ its best which is rlly killing this country. |

NYSC / Re: NYSC Batch A 2013 House by ProfTOB: 9:47pm On Feb 18, 2013 |
donted: Those that have their names on error list are still going for batch A come march 5 provided their sch has cleared the error with Jamb within d stipulated time given by NYSC. Just dat they won't see their call up nmbrs till the call up letter is out. So no opportunity of influencing the posting. But those their names were omitted (neither in error list nor call up nmbr list) have been advised to wait for the next batch. Those their schs didn't clear the problems of those on error list in time or didn't make attempt of it @ all, won't have those on error list posted for batch A. In a nut shell, it's ur sch dat can tell u if they've rectified it or not. If it has been rectified, pls start preparing for Batch A in no time cos it's already by the corner and start praying for a favourable posting (unless u have a very very long leg, as in long leg in NYSC to influence ur posting to d state of ur choice) |

reeeT: . So in essence you are implyin dat they are indirectli paying for jamb rite?If dats the case it means that those that came tru pre sci or predegree didt write jamb initially thats why the ought to get a jamb no.if dats d case,I totali agree n undstnds. Yes. It also affected those dat even did UME/PCE and gained admission thru dat. Jamb claimed they don't have of data of those Jamb reg nmbrs (which they issued demselves during the sales of Jamb form).so those ones too paid as if they r obtaining new Jamb form which they tagged as "Regularization" in order to be mobilized by NYSC. Jamb is just seizing this opportunity to make money. |
NYSC / Re: NYSC Batch A 2013 House by ProfTOB: 8:51pm On Feb 18, 2013 |
ger_gemam: U re getting it wrong ooo. It's not ur VC, neither the Registrar nor Student Affairs dat wants the money. It's d money required to correct the problem of those on error list with Jamb as jamb says they have no details of their Jamb Reg nmbr, so as clear away frm the mess, another regularization needed to be done so as to clear the students frm the mess and make them meet up with batch A (so far d name is on d NYSC error list). It's nt only ur sch dat demanded such money or amount, same amount was collected Last week by Yabatech and Unilag and some other schools like dat, for the same issue. Those that have nt demanded dat may demand it at the point call up letter release. To my best of knowledge, majority of schs paid frm their pockets immediately so as to hasten the process and nw tell the students to refund to their account within a stipulated period. |

30secs: http://www.nysc.gov.ng/news-and_events/guidelines_for_mob.php NYSC is only trying to explain the two new policies adopted Jan @ the Workshop held in Kwara State in which the implementation started on us which we've been seeing all this while (Jamb reg nmbr, error list, omission and so on). Summarily, no student wld be mobilized for NYSC without having proper details of regularization with Jamb, any student dat graduates studying any discredited course by NUC/NBTE in his/her institution wld not be mobilized for NYSC and lastly, NYSC wld not mobilize beyond the approved admission quota by NUC/NBTE for individual Institution (which means there wld be several back logs of students awaiting service in each sch every year unless the institution wld reduce admission of a particular year below the quota so as to accommodate the outstanding back logs) |
NYSC / Re: NYSC Batch A 2013 House by ProfTOB: 8:13pm On Feb 09, 2013 |
The list was pasted yesterday in Yabatech. Out of over 300 students dat submitted Jamb Reg nmbr (excluding those dat applied for regularization) dat d sch sent to NYSC, only 88 were given call up numbers. The rest appeared on error list frm NYSC. I happen to be one of those on the Error list. NYSC said they were unable to verify our admission with Jamb thru our Reg. Nmbrs. The sch has asked us to submit our Jamb admission letter (which we were nt given) before 12noon on monday so as to forward to NYSC. I tried printing out the admission letter early dis morning by obtaining a scratch card. After submitting my details, I saw "Sorry No admission yet". After mine, some other pple tried and it said d same thing to them. Though I've called the HOD of my department, the Dean student affairs and sme others involved, we have an appointment for monday. I pray it wld be fruitful. |

flotwise: Any one in d house with update from Yaba tech? Thank God finally I have smeone frm Yabatech here since the inception of this thread. As for Yabatech, Students r asked to come to d NYSC section today (Friday) to check their names and callup nmbrs and make necessary correction if any. But I'll advise u shldnt go too early so dat u won't be kept waiting. |
NYSC / Re: Nysc Mobilisation List Is Out. by ProfTOB: 12:14am On Feb 08, 2013 |
scampy: If it's this correction list that has just been sent to schs by NYSC u r referring to, yes it wld be sent back. After the lists have been pasted by schs, any student dat feels mistake has been made in his details/data shld lodge in complain immediately and give the correct details. Schools r given till I think 12th or 13th February (u can very that frm d last released time table) to send back the lists to NYSC after noting d mistakes and necessary corrections for NYSC to effect dem. So Call up letters wld nw be sent to schs starting frm 25th - 27th February which are to be distributed to students to make them knw the states they've been posted to and prepare to resume camp 5th March, 2013. I hope this has answered ur question sir |
NYSC / Re: Nysc Mobilisation List Is Out. by ProfTOB: 2:32pm On Feb 07, 2013 |
seundy: Can any polytechnic graduate confirm if those who did ND pt and HND full time are considered as pt students Yes considered to be Part time students who need to apply for Jamb Reg nmbr by paying the required fee before they can be mobilized since they were nt admitted thru Jamb exams. Once they have the Reg nmbr, they wld be mobilized provided they have no other issue with the school. Sme thing those that had their ND in private polytechnics without passing thru jamb and later applied for HND, for them to be mobilized, they have to follow suit. |
NYSC / Re: Nysc Mobilisation List Is Out. by ProfTOB: 2:20pm On Feb 07, 2013 |
rufaidaniel: Guys, in Niger Delta University, we were only asked to drop our Jamb reg number. We weren't asked to pay a dime. Same in all schs too. If u have Jamb Reg nmbr, u need nt pay for anything unless probably a fraudulent act is attached. |
NYSC / Re: Nysc Mobilisation List Is Out. by ProfTOB: 2:15pm On Feb 07, 2013 |
funkystanl: Truth be said, all those without Jamb reg no whether ND PT or remedial or diploma or pre-degree students will not follow batch A. Quote me. That's y u guys were asked to pay 4,600 - 5000 depending on ur school. It is said dat d money will be used for regularization (means it wud b used to process a jamb numba and admission letter for u from JAMB). So take ur mind off batch A and prepare for batch B or C...depends on how fast Jamb cud come up with something. Thanks for dat. I don't knw why pple r taking this issue beyond its bounds. Without Jamb Reg nmbr, it wld take a camel to pass thru d eye of a needle for u to be mobilized. That is why schools are arranging quickly for their students without it to get one which they tagged as "Regularization With Jamb". As for Yabatech, those that applied for the regularization by paying the required fee nw have Jamb Reg nmbr but unfortunately they were unable to meet up before the Batch A list was sent to NYSC. Just an hour difference frm the time the list was sent to NYSC and the arrival of the reg nmbrs of those dat applied frm Jamb. So those ones r to wait till Batch B. Those that submitted fake Jamb reg nmbrs were identified and their names were omitted frm the ones sent to NYSC. Also those dat gave Reg nmbr of a year different frm their year of admission for example smeone dat gained admission 2007 and submitted Reg nmbr of 2005. They were all omitted. The early students take this Jamb Reg nmbr seriously, the better. Batch B is rlly close by. |
NYSC / Re: Adjusted NYSC Mobilization Time Table For 2013 Batch 'A by ProfTOB: 1:41pm On Feb 07, 2013 |
booqee: Its OOU..Olabisi onabanjo university. (OSU) I've the jamb registration no since i entered through ume..i think its those that entered through D.E thats got dat problem. Though this issue of buying form is strange to me cos ur sch is meant to automatically mobilize for service once u've been cleared and has no issue with d sch any more be it result or there about. May be the buying of form is peculiar to u sch cos it's nt general. |
NYSC / Re: Adjusted NYSC Mobilization Time Table For 2013 Batch 'A by ProfTOB: 11:03am On Feb 07, 2013 |
Prof. T.O.B.: booqee: My question is dis,, i believed mobilization ended on the 31st of january..but mobilization is still going on in my school, i heard nysc gave them grace by extending the date for them,. Is dat ever done??.. I've just been wondering bout it...its gon be closing tomorrow Any list dat hasn't been submitted to NYSC by nw is definitely nt a list for Batch A 2013 cos call-up nmbrs and correction lists are out for Batch A nw. Any further processing apart frm the names on those list wld be for another Batch. U can go to ur sch to check the list dat has been sent to dem by NYSC if ur name is there. If it's nt there, den hope for the next batch. Also take the Jamb Reg nmbr seriously cos it's no joke, without it, no service. If u don't have, find out frm ur sch how u can apply for it. |

NYSC / Re: NYSC Batch A 2013 House by ProfTOB: 7:34pm On Feb 06, 2013 |
ritchie55: The basic truth is dis, forget about this batch A and work towards the next batch. Go to your sch and find out how to go by Regularization with Jamb since you gained admission thru predegree, so a Jamb Reg nmbr wld be generated after paying the required fee. I'll advise u do this in time so that u won't miss the next batch as well. All the best |

Seyixyz: Pls,is it possible 4 one 2 run his master's while servin or nysc certificate is needed 4 dat also..Jus tinkin of catchin 2 birds wif 1 stone..Thanks guys Certificate of Completion of NYSC is a prerequisite for any post graduate programme u want to put in for here in Nigeria unless u have a Certificate/letter of exemption from NYSC to cover u. Though I heard sme private institutions here in Nigeria allow doing it without d certificate of completion of NYSC but I'm yet to confirm that. |
